We sold our Harpenden house through Ashtons and would highly recommend them. In particular, Jonny whose advise and knowledge getting the house on the market was invaluable, and also Willow for her hard work keeping the sale process moving after we'd accepted an offer. Both were brilliant at keeping up regular communications with us so that we always felt in the loop. A huge thank you to you both and the whole team!

The Ashtons team is incredible. Every person I have interacted with has been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. What I love most is how human they are, it's not just about making a sell for them but they truly value their customers in their journey, whether that be in selling, buying or renting their home. Highly, highly recommend!

Would not use their renting/letting service if you paid me. Kirsty is absolutely dreadful, rude, abrasive and arrogant. She made mistakes with how the property was advertised from an offer perspective and then doubled down rather than admit that she’d made a mistake. She interrupted me every time I tried to explain her mistake. I ended up hanging up on her because she's so infuriating.
Just admit you messed up????
Two days before the start date, they try and hit you with last minute ridiculous fees for things such as taking an inventory and getting the property in a professionally clean state. Awful, awful, awful.
Avoid at all costs.
To be absolutely fair, their sales department is fantastic. It is professionally run and they are very polite and courteous. Such a shame the lettings team is dog awful.

My initial experience with Ashtons was not very positive. However, once my son, who had previous knowledge of estate agency became involved Communication and general effort improved.

Used Ashtons as was a prospective buyer of a property they marketed. Not so many issues with the office but the sales progression team were always quite slow to respond and could never get through to the assigned person to my case.
Additionally used ashtons to sell my property and I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience.
The problems began immediately. The agency provided an initial valuation to secure our business in July, only to suggest a £25,000 price reduction after just one week, admitting there was no interest.
Despite agreeing to the reduction, it did not correlate to an increase in activity which would lead to questions around marketing and resource as Ashtons list a lot of properties. By September, they had only managed to secure two viewings. We received absolutely no feedback from either of these viewings, despite requesting it, leaving us completely in the dark.
Lastly thier fees are quite opaque and if youre new to selling read through everything very carefully. In the non flex fees there are baked in withdrawal fees that ensure ashtons get paid regardless if they sell or not. Which gives them little incentive to really push your property in my opinion. The alternative is you pay money up front to them to sell your property which is preposterous. Fundamentally all the agents use rightmove to market your property and that's where most people go to find houses.
In summary: an inaccurate valuation, negligible effort, a complete lack of communication, and a devious fee structure designed to charge you even when they fail to perform.
