I don’t normally leave reviews, but I do often read them. I would just like to say that I think bad reviews sometimes tell you more about the person that wrote them! (Good service goes both ways) I have recently sold with Hills in Swinton and had a brilliant experience. They were very proactive and the whole team was nothing but friendly & professional and they always gave me feedback and good advice. I understand that an estate agent can’t make someone buy a house, and people will only buy if the price matches the condition. John wwas very professional and gave me an honest valuation, chloe was great when she showed people around, and Chris and Taylor and Jack were always available and actually sold my house for more than it was on for! I also bought a house with another estate agent in Swinton and they were nowhere near as good as Hills to deal with. I would definitely recommend Hills to anyone who wants to sell.... Read more

Awful experience with Hills. As my wife has mentioned, we attempted to sell our property with Hills, and they were simply unable to do so. Chris has replied below saying that it may be due to *in quotation marks* the standard of ‘refurbishment’… We went off THEIR valuation, not ours. And also dropped the price twice, as our property wasn’t shifting under Hills. If the (in their sarcastic words) “refurbishment” (when we actually spent £27,000 on refurbing the property from the sorry state it was in when we bought it), was not to their liking, then perhaps Hills should learn how to valuate the properties they’re marketing better. The customer service from Chris, and colleagues, was god awful. Completely unprofessional, the office phone was answered in a completely dull tone as if they had been inconvenienced by us calling (we’re not the first person to say this too, clearly!) We purposely waited until we completed on the property sale to leave a review, mainly to not tempt fate, but managed to sell 5 days after leaving Hills and changing agent, after it being on the market with Hills for months. And finally, Chris mentioned a previous agreed sale for our property, it was by a complete time waster who they couldn’t even get hold of once we accepted their offer. Hardly something to use as a pointer. I wish I had never ever dealt with Hills. By a country mile the worst agent I’ve had the “pleasure” of dealing with. Thank god I won’t be doing so again.... I would not recommend Hills based on my experience selling my property. Despite conducting over 10 viewings, feedback was rarely provided unless I repeatedly chased, which was a month after a large bulk of the viewings. When it was eventually sent, it came as a delayed list of bullet points after the team had contacted viewers all at once, rather than timely, constructive updates after each viewing. Communication throughout was poor. I was told on multiple occasions that staff had attempted to call me, despite having no missed calls or voicemails. On the few occasions feedback was given promptly, it was delivered in an abrupt and unprofessional manner (for example, being told simply that a viewer “didn’t like it, it wasn’t great”), which lacked any useful detail or basic customer care. General telephone manner was also lacklustre, not the general attitude you’d want from the salespeople of your property. Viewings were frequently conducted by a trainee rather than an experienced agent, and there were instances of lateness without prior notice to either myself or the viewer. On one occasion, muddy shoes were walked through the property, resulting in damage to a cream rug. When I decided to withdraw and change agents, I was told by the branch manager that I would be unlikely to sell by doing so. In reality, I sold my property within 5 days of switching, which speaks for itself. I had chosen to withdraw my sale with Hills due to the above, but also because they had a lack of marketing ideas and I also experienced four weeks without a viewing, despite reducing the price. The process of returning my keys was also unnecessarily difficult, with initial resistance to posting them (despite initially telling me that they would of course get them back to me, as I was away with work at the time) and ultimately them being returned in a flimsy envelope via second-class post. I recently purchased my first home and had a fantastic experience with Hills. Jack, in particular, was exceptional from start to finish. He truly went above and beyond at every stage of the process. I was able to push the sale through with the vendors in just five weeks, and Jack was instrumental in making that happen. He was always on top of correspondence, quick to contact the vendors, and incredibly responsive to emails. What really stood out was his dedication - he was even contactable on his days off, which made a huge difference during such a fast-moving process. When I picked up the keys, I was welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and a congratulations card, which was a really thoughtful and supportive touch. If I ever decide to sell or buy another property in the future, Hills would absolutely be the estate agent I’d return to and recommend without hesitation.... Read more

Avoid Hills Estate Agency at All Costs!! I have spent the past year being over-promised and massively under-delivered by Hills. The experience has been nothing short of a disaster. There has been a complete failure in communication from start to finish. I was repeatedly given “estimated completion dates” that never materialised, followed by weeks even over a month of no contact whatsoever. Because of their poor advice, I am now over £2,000 out of pocket. The unprofessionalism is staggering. Staff openly discussed the seller’s personal finances, telling me the seller “had no money” and describing them as “an absolute nightmare customer.” Imagine paying Hills thousands of pounds to sell your property, only for them to bad-mouth you to the buyer. Completely unacceptable. Given this behaviour, it’s no surprise there are so many negative reviews online. I submitted a formal complaint and received a response from Charlotte today no empathy, no apology. If this is how a director behaves, it’s clear why the rest of the staff follow suit. If you value your time, your money and your sanity, avoid Hills like the plague!! Useless!!... Read more
