30th Aug 2022 (1 year ago)Recently purchased a property at auction with Hammer Price Homes. I was a little sceptical first about buying a property via an online auction but was really surprised and happy about how easy it was. I liked the transparency of the auction and felt that it tested what the actual market value of the property was rather than the usual process of placing offers through an estate agent. The additional benefit was that we had time to arrange a mortgage. We had 3 months following the auction to complete and Michael at Hammer Price was great to guide us through the process and answer any questions. We completed 2 weeks ago and have began renovations on our new house last week!

19th May 2023 (11 mo. ago)Michael Hughes and his team at Chester-Le-Street are genuinely the very very best. We use them for letting our properties and we have used them for years now. Incredibly diligent, caring, friendly and very professional. One of the key partners a landlord needs to work with is a 1st class Managing Agent and boy are we chuffed to bits that we found Michael and his team at Robinsons at Chester-Le-Street. 2nd Mar 2019 (5 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

16th Feb 2024 (11 weeks ago)From the moment my property went on the market I never heard from Dowen again other than to tell me if I had a viewing. I might aswell have put the house up for sale myself. £1200 for what? Putting it on Rightmove? Photos were terrible, he said he would come back when it was sunny to take some more. Never heard from him... Appalling customer service, no call backs just nothing, no personal touch at all. Would never use again, there are plenty of better local estate agents out there who would take much better care of you for a lot less money.

Special mention to Coral who helped to keep the sale moving when one or two snags were occurring. Her interventions were always at the right time to keep the sale from stalling. She acted as a bridge between ourselves and the buyer. We would certainly use David Bailes for any future sales in the Stanley area

The costs were clearly communicated from the outset which wasn’t the case with some other agencies we contacted. Communication was excellent and they handled all negotiations well. We were kept well informed as the sale progressed. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.

9th Mar 2024 (8 weeks ago)Pleased with the service from Paul Copeland and his staff. Even phoning a vier on a Sunday and contacting me to confirm they were attending. They brought lots of viewers through the door. were the previous Estate Agent failed.
15th Mar 2024 (7 weeks ago)Cons : they only checked in after 12 weeks and once when we had a possible viewing. This felt quite poor over 26 weeks. I requested some replacement photos to use alongside a price drop to create some Interest. Advisor quite abrupt and unhappy at the request . Refused/strongly advised this was not necessary even though work had been done to improve the home since original photos taken . Communication was poor with very little contact over a 26 week period. Didn’t see home marketed via Facebook or email shots . Some of the Photos weren’t the best , make sure you really check them before you approve . Pros : Service was quick and effective at point of set up. Staff were otherwise polite and pleasant to deal with . Always returned calls when I rang . Board went up quickly and photographer was quick. Some of the photos were good. House did not sell or even have a viewing within 26 weeks which is unusual in a popular area.

Right from the very courteous and professional first contact, through to the final stages, I could not fault them in the slightest. They were efficient, knowledgeable, and gave excellent advice. Given all the work they did, I regard their fee as very reasonable. Going with them as my agent was the best decision I could possibly have made.
16th Apr 2024 (17 days ago)Awful experience with Alexander Sales and Lettings. Through their inability to ensure a process of due diligence, they cost me two months of time and a solicitors fee for nothing. I am now in a position where I have a mortgage offer ready to go, a sale on my property nearing completion and I effectively do not have a property to move into. Avoid at all costs.

8th Nov 2023 (25 weeks ago)Great experience with Hegartys. All of the staff at the branch are lovely, friendly and super helpful. We did have a few issues with our photos which couldn’t be helped (technology), however I always believe it’s how these situations are dealt with which matters and Hegartys were great. Our property sold within a day or 2 of being on the market and it sold above asking price. Hegartys did value our property higher than what we decided to go on the market with which shows their valuation was accurate.
