One morning, we woke up to scaffolding in our back gardens. This was for a neighbouring property, managed by Everbest on behalf of a landlord they represent. For 3 weeks we dealt with loud noise, our gardens being out of use, and being shouted/sworn at by contractors. We complained to Everbest for which we were given an ultimatum. If we pursued our complaint externally, their offer of compensation £60 per affected tenant would be removed. They refused to provide us with their landlord's name. This all didn't sit right with us, so we continued the complaint, after offering remediation with both Everbest and the landlord (which was declined). They refused to put us in touch with the landlord, who was out of the country for most of the time. Essentially we were unable to be compensated more, because they refused to provide us with the landlord's name. Legally, the liability was with the landlord, not them. However, I would have expected some better professionalism, particularly with regards to ultimatums, refusing remediation and their complaints policy. In fact, they were told that their complaints policy was lacking in areas, and needed amending.... Read more

We bought an investment property marketed by Everbest and from the viewing to collecting the keys the service was excellent. Sophie responded quickly and professionally to every query and went above and beyond to help us. When tenants refused access to a surveyor and the surveyor charged us for the aborted survey Sophie arranged for Everbest to pay the fee. When a disagreement with the seller arose just before exchange of contracts she located a message that she had received six months previously, which clarified the issue. Many estate agents seem motivated by sales-based commission, but Sophie did not spin the property and appeared genuinely concerned to help buyers and sellers reach a mutually beneficial agreement....
