17th Jan 2022 (2 years ago)Unfortunately, they couldn't find a buyer for my stunning flat themselves and had to enlist an outside estate agent, and had me stump up extra money to help compensate them. So they got it done after the end of the contact term, but it cost me £thousands more. This was after they earlier had asked me to agree to halt showings as demanded by an earlier (lower) offer that I reluctantly accepted. That buyer ended up walking weeks later, wasting precious time that could have been spent finding a real buyer. Estate agents are not your friend. No matter how charming they appear before their engagement contract is signed, once you sign it, they revert to their true mercenary selves, pressuring you to accept offers well below the very valuation they provided, because their only loyalty is to earning their fee. Don't get fooled. Wish I never used this JDW office.

Although already familiar with the purchasers, Philip never failed to serve her best interests in securing a pre-marketing sale to a cash buyer. He encouraged us to set an ambitious price and helped us to realise us in double-quick time from offer to completion of just 11 weeks. Back-office service was also superb and personal, thanks to Lizzie. Highly recommended.

Her boundless positivity, professionalism, good humour and fantastic communication made a sometimes tricky time bearable. From our first contact with her, Kate was helpful, open and honest, and even when things were getting tough, she didn't stop doing her best to make sure the sale went through. After having a previously poor experience with another estate agent which resulted in very few viewings and little interest, I moved to Jacobs and Hunt to market my property. A new listing with excellent photos was created quickly and soon there were a large amount of viewings, resulting in an offer before long. Jacobs and Hunt were attentive and professional throughout the process and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to others. Matty was attentive, supporting and communicative throughout the entire process. Due to circumstances outside his or Jacobs and Hunts control, the sale process took longer than I was hoping for. Matty proactively chased up parties when he could, including my own incompetent solicitor (my mistake for that choice!) Well done Matty.

28th Jun 2024 (12 weeks ago)Maybe it was due to the time of year, but I was disappointed to have only 3 viewings in 20 weeks. I received the the regular automatic emails, but not much communication beyond that. I didn't even get feedback on the third viewing. The people I did speak to were friendly and professional, and did get moving quickly in the beginning.

They clearly know the local market very well, set a reasonable asking price and then found several keen parties. Eventually selling for over the initial asking price. All parties, including the purchasers were kept informed of progress at all times, resulting in happy parties on all fronts. Selling and purchasing a property, can be stressful, but Curchods approach made the entire process simple. I cannot recommend their service highly enough and look forward to working with the team again.
