Terrible Customer Service - Avoid We have recently sold our house through this estate agency and, unfortunately, it was one of the most stressful experiences we have ever been through. To be fair, the initial stages were positive. The valuation was accurate, they generated a good number of viewings, and they successfully secured an offer on our property. However, once the offer was accepted, the level of service declined significantly. When issues arose with our first buyer, we received little guidance or support. Our options were never properly explained, and we were not informed that we could continue progressing the existing offer while remarketing the property. As a result, we felt unsupported at a critical stage of the process. Communication was a major issue throughout. We received very few updates and were frequently advised to contact our solicitor directly for information. This was particularly disappointing given that the company's website states that they will actively manage the sales progression, chase updates, and keep clients informed throughout the transaction. What was most concerning was that they did not even appear to know our completion and moving date. While the team performed well in marketing the property and securing an offer, the lack of communication, customer care, and support after the sale was agreed was extremely disappointing. DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!... Read more
