We have had a great experience with Jack and the team at Douglas Allen, Epping. From the start Jack was really engaging and his understanding of the market was second to none. He went above and beyond to ensure that he was giving us the best service possible. I am sure he has a lot of listings but the service felt very personal and nothing was too much trouble. Jack and Lisa in particular have been a pleasure to deal with and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. We have a number of people we know that have now sold their properties through him and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and the team to anyone looking for an honest, hard working partnership to enable them to sell their property.... Our house took 1 year and 2 months to complete and we were kept in the dark throughout by Douglas Allen - they were awful at getting back to us and when we did finally get in touch, we were constantly lied to or they made excuses. At one point we weren't even aware that the chain had broken and was being rebuilt! Mark is the most unprofessional and inept character I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with - Charlotte was just one of his puppets who I felt sorry for as she constantly had to cover for him. Jonjo was actually good at his job and he should be running the show there, not Mark! The 'sales progressor' acted more as a barrier to communication rather than an accelerator. I would never leave a property transaction in their hands - you'll get burnt! No doubt they'll respond to this blaming solicitors or the builders at the top of the chain - who i'm sure share some of the blame - but this doesn't excuse them from the unprofessional manner by which they conduct their business. Avoid! ... Read more

Really wonderful experience selling my flat. In constant communication, sold within a few weeks of going on the market and very supportive. Having had a bad experience with another estate agent in the area - would 100% recommend Petty Son and Prestwich. Thank you!... Read more

Whatever you do: DO NOT use this estate agent. They leased me a flat for my 80 year old disabled father with no working intercom, no working fobs and no opportunity for a lockbox, meaning he would have been completely isolated and have no way of getting any care or support. The staff lied about what they’d said and were unbelievably unhelpful. They left my dad homeless and me several thousand pounds out of pocket through deceit. I am taking legal action and URGE you not to use them.... Read more

Hi guys am very busy at the moment, and if I wasn't there really wouldn't be much I would add to my review about wonderlease. There helpful professional in the field of work and proved themselves especially through this pandemic. They are a great team to get along with and have sustained a reputation as a compatible agency to work with. I have been with them a little over 10 years and as I said before am a very busy individual so if any adjustments need to be amended they always give me a curiosity call to give me the heads up and they take care of the rest. Thanks guys Regards Nicholas... Read more

AVOID. I had a really bad experience with the lettings branch of this agency a few months ago. I put a holding deposit down on a flat, only to find out a few days later they'd  taken holding deposits from multiple people. They attempted to draw me into a bidding war for how much rent I would pay. I know other agents to use these practices, but I feel they should be upfront about what they are doing. There are much better letting agents in Walthamstow.... Read more

I had no idea my little business has any value when I wanted to retire. I was pleasantly surprised to accept an offer just less than the initial price and although the process took longer than expected because of the pandemic, I have nothing but praise and admiration for the team at Hilton Smythe. First class service!... Read more

Under no circumstances sell your business with Hilton Smythe. We made the unfortunate decision to sign a six month contract with them back in February this year to sell our shop. A valuer visited us and told us that if we paid so much upfront, they'd be no more fee's to pay and if the shop wasn't sold within six months we could simply pull it off the market or go with someone else. It was originally marketed and valued at £50,000. Initially we had a lot of interest and a sale looked likely. Then lockdown happened three weeks into the shop being advertised and all went quiet until late July, early August. Barely anything from Hilton Smythe. This we had expected due to the circumstances. In the meantime, the shop has been open and trading extremely well. Then come early August, we start being messed around by the agent. Suddenly and without any warning another agent has taken over and is arranging viewings with people who are not properly vetted. We're let down at the last minute by people who don't show up. We then reduce the price of our business in an effort to sell quicker, even then the agents kept calling with offer's well below the new asking price and when we turned them all down, we were made to feel like we're the ones being unreasonable and as though we should just accept any offer. Low and behold, we have decided to take our business off the market. Our contract ran out on August 2nd, therefore we are now out of contract. But... Hilton Smythe have stated that we have to give them six weeks notice for them to take our business off the market and in this time, we must accept viewings else we are liable for a fee of almost £3,000! We only received an actual copy of our contract, the day we gave Hilton Smythe our notice, which was two days ago. Yesterday, emails were flying back and forth between Myself and the agency over yet another no show. Hilton Smythe have become bullies and will stoop to any depths. They're not on the sellers side, the very people paying them and they will send anyone, unvetted, to waste your time on the promise of a sale. No matter how hard you try to get out of it, they will use 'the contract' against you. Do expect a level of stress that will drive you to the brink of a nervous breakdown and if you have a decent business, expect it to be adversely affected by bogus buyers phoning them and then you being forced into showing such people around! I urge anyone thinking of selling a business, go elsewhere. I wish I had seen some of these reviews back in February.... Read more
