4th May 2025 (19 days ago)***Buyers beware of this estate agent*** We were in the process of purchasing a property being marketed by Joy Walker Estate Agents. The sale was agreed with the vendor, our solicitors fees and valuation survey were paid for, searches were paid for. Weeks into the buying process and completely out of the blue, Joy, the owner of this cowboy outfit, rang me and said that another potential buyer had come in and offered 20k more than me and would I like to match it? I explained that I was up to my limit financially and couldn't afford to go any higher and also added that the sale had been agreed, monies paid and the solicitors of both sides had been working on the case for weeks. Joy explained in a very condescending manner that nothing is finalised, or set in concrete with property purchases, until the day that contracts are exchanged. So there you have it, we lost the property to someone else, weeks into the buying process, because this estate agent continued to market the property behind our backs, weeks after my offer had been accepted. We lost £850 in fees spent, my wife was distraught and spent the weekend in tears and we were left desperately trying to find another house, as the tenancy on our rental property was nearly up. Unscrupulous! Unprofessional! She doesn't give a damn! All that Mrs Joy Walker cares about, is bringing in the commission. Riding roughshod over people in order to bring the money in, is all that matters to this woman. I mistakenly thought that the Wild West of estate agency and the dodgy practice of gazumping was something we all left behind in the 1980's, but unfortunately, someone forgot to tell Joy; or more likely she just doesn't care? All you potential buyers out there - Is it really worth the risk of dealing with fleabags like this?

31st Jul 2023 (1 year ago)Living in Bridlington and having to sell my parents property in Louth I was unsure of which estate agent to use , however , I just recalled that a board with "John Taylor " on had been outside my grandparents property way back so I decided on that. What a great decision that was, John Taylor have been exceptional from day one to completion, always at the end of the phone with help and advice, great communications as to when viewings would be ( the property was empty and the keys left with John Taylor, and a great understanding that this was not just a house sale to me but the sale of my family home for the last 69 years, the house I grew up in and called home for all those years. I cannot fault them in any way , the only word I can use is "exceptional" Special thanks to Anne who was outstanding , she is a star. kindest regards to all at John Taylor and many many thanks . 26th May 2022 (2 years ago)The unique service offered by Griffin has enabled me to complete a DIY sale of my home on the Internet using national property sale platforms as if I was the website. I listed my property at 8am and by 9.30am on the same day I was receiving emails from potential purchaser's. I well know the power of the Internet, but even I was surprised by the speed of it all. The Griffin team have the power to listen and assist you, I wish to thank the person at Griffin who originated this professional service and his team for doing a great job. If I ever need to sell a home in future I will immediately use the Griffin service and have been recommending them to family and friends. Thank you.

From the first viewing to completion day, we were kept informed every step of the way. This has been one of the best agent and buying experiences we’ve ever had. They not only represent the seller but also take the time to listen to and understand the buyer, which is very rare in today’s marketplace. Even got a lovely gift box! Thank you, Crofts!

They kept me well informed and worked hard to get me the sale on my house.If I ever needed an estate agents again these would be who I'd go to or pass on to friends to use ????
9th May 2025 (14 days ago)Approached House Sales Direct as I was struggling to sell my house (3 bed Semi) with my local estate agent. I received a valuation the same day and signed up. My property was sold within a month! How my existing agent couldn't do this but House Sales Direct could I don't know. Least to say I was over the moon.

5th Sep 2023 (1 year ago)TES took over from Hunters just after I had given notice to Hunters and after having to stay with them for 16 weeks, all of the office staff changed almost overnight. I thought rather than go back to square one I would see what they could do. By that time my partners sale completed (21 April) and I have to admit I took my eye off the ball as we were very busy with workmen etc. However the communication was very little. I had one lady view in that time but she had not sold herself. She did view a second time but turned out to be a time waster. No-one senior ever spoke to me about any plan. I asked about an open day perhaps and was told the market for bungalows was just not there. I am now sorting out another agent who is due to photograph and do a floor plan today. Fingers crossed.
