Sunday lunch was delicious. Both duck terrine and smoked salmon executed perfectly! Beef dinner very tasty as was the turkey dinner although turkey was a little tough and the roast potatoes could definitely be improved. Gravy was magical. Sticky toffee pudding was excellent and the cheese board was so good excellent cheeses although I would have liked a fork for the cheese. Staff were excellent and the service was superb. We enjoyed James Martins on Friday 3rd December. The food was really nice and a great choice menu something for everyone .The staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble. What I liked our waitress was polite and friendly even though there was issues in the kitchen which was noticeable .But wasn't a problem to us .I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back for more Thank you for a nice evening... Web site: All customers to leave their coats at our reception cloakroom. Not so. Everyone had their coats strewn all over the backs of chairs or on the benches. Some had slipped on to the floor. This is High Class? Even my local pub has coat hooks. Website: All customers should wear a face covering until they are seated at their table. Not so. No one wore a mask. Website: All staff will wear a face covering during service. Not so. Web site: Table configurations have been adjusted to allow for appropriate social distancing. Not so. We were almost touching elbows. Web site: High touch items are cleaned and disinfected between customers, and menus are available to view via QR code or single use copies available upon request. Not so. Menus. Each one (4) of us had a very different menu. They changed two but was still wrong. Managed in the end to sort it out between us. Ordered wine but it was on the menu that was wrong. Told that they would replace it with a higher value one. Did they? I don't know as I wasn't given the choice of choosing another. The food was nothing and I mean nothing like the pictures on the web site. Presentation was very lacking. They brought 2 bowls of potatoes that we did not order. The cheese board had 6 very small pieces of tasteless cheese and had 4 small biscuits of which one was a chocolate biscuit? The toilets are downstairs and 70 yards or so across a crowded (95% men) Casino; (and not signed except on the door). Not good. I expected the meals to be comparable to his Saturday morning show or on the web site in appearance. How wrong I was. The bill was £260 for four people and it was probably OK for a high end restaurant; but in my opinion this is nowhere near a high end restaurant... Read more

I found the room to be quite cold on my visit. The staff are efficient and pleasant explaining your food choices. On delivery I found my starter wasn't as warm as it should be but it was very tasty. The main likewise was beautifully presented and very tasty. Turn up the heating guys and keep all the food a bit warmer if it's standing before service.... Read more

Yes yes and yes. Came here for a Sunday roast and wasn’t disappointed. Great service, fast and friendly. Roast dinner was spot on with tasty gravy and all came out piping hot. The sticky toffee pudding really stole the show though. Two courses for £25, can’t fault it. Warning: you can only access the restaurant via the casino using the doors on the OUTSIDE of the building. Honestly was amazing! Delicious food, cooked to perfection! No long waiting times! We came for the steak and wine deal, can not fault the service our server Daniel was very attentive and polite! Had a lovely meal on friday night. We have been before and I must say this time wasn't as good as the first. Dishes tasted a little under seasoned and some were missing that little bit of acidity, especially as most were seafood. Booked the taster menu for myself and my wife for a special treat. We had an amazing experience. Lovely warm welcome, our waiter Daniel was amazing and so knowledgeable, able to describe the wines and where they came from and the origins of the food we were eating. The menu was amazing I had the normal tasting menu and my wife the vegetarian I loved every course as did my wife, we didn't want it to end. The wine pairing with each course was stunning.
