10th Nov 2025 (8 mo. ago)Avoid Hills Estate Agency at All Costs!! I have spent the past year being over-promised and massively under-delivered by Hills. The experience has been nothing short of a disaster. There has been a complete failure in communication from start to finish. I was repeatedly given “estimated completion dates” that never materialised, followed by weeks even over a month of no contact whatsoever. Because of their poor advice, I am now over £2,000 out of pocket. The unprofessionalism is staggering. Staff openly discussed the seller’s personal finances, telling me the seller “had no money” and describing them as “an absolute nightmare customer.” Imagine paying Hills thousands of pounds to sell your property, only for them to bad-mouth you to the buyer. Completely unacceptable. Given this behaviour, it’s no surprise there are so many negative reviews online. I submitted a formal complaint and received a response from Charlotte today no empathy, no apology. If this is how a director behaves, it’s clear why the rest of the staff follow suit. If you value your time, your money and your sanity, avoid Hills like the plague!! Useless!!

She is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help with any questions or concerns. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she made the whole letting process smooth and stress-free.<br><br>Eve kept me informed every step of the way, responded quickly to messages, and genuinely cared about providing excellent service. As we were living in Cardiff and could not easily travel back to Manchester for viewings, they went above and beyond by arranging and sending us a detailed video tour of the property. This made the whole process so much easier and less stressful for us.<br><br>They were always available to answer our questions, kept us informed at every stage, and made what can often be a complicated process feel smooth and straightforward.<br><br>We are very grateful for all their support and would highly recommend Lucy and Murray to anyone looking to rent a property. 8th Jul 2026 (25 days ago)We used Courtney at salfird reeds rains for over five years we only ever had really positive experiences Courtney is fantastic at her job and always found us the best tenants we value her opinion and experience is always top marks. Couldn’t recommend the team at salfird reeds rains the service is just excellent highly recommend using them we bought properties off them and had to let out with them
15th Jun 2026 (7 weeks ago)The initial meeting to value the property, the subsequent meeting to take photos and the organising of the paperwork was great, we were impressed, which was why we went with them. Unfortunately, after 14 weeks on the market they had only got us 2 viewings and their communication to us was a bit hit and miss, so we decided to go with a different agent. They weren’t the right agent for us on this occasion.- 22nd Jun 2026 (6 weeks ago)Lisa was a great help when i needed to sell a property . 15th Jun 2026 (7 weeks ago)Terrible experience renting a property managed by this estate agents for 5 years. Hardly ever had issues resolved (pest, mould and draught), constantly missed/ignored emails, attempted to raise rent without following correct procedure, attempted to overcharge for final rent and unlawfully instructed us to book pest control ourselves instead of landlord doing it as a business to save money. Do not rent the Montondale property and avoid this business.

22nd Sep 2025 (10 mo. ago)I once excellent company completely wrecked by its new owners. The company used to be very easy to communicate with, now its easier to communicate with the dead. They use to be polite, but Northwood regard tenants as an inconvenience. I had eight years of good experiences but the ninth is a mess, and its all because Northwood, the new owners, are terrible. It must have taken a lot of effort to transform a great company into one I am now writing a one-star review for on every platform I can find, but they managed it.
28th Aug 2025 (11 mo. ago)Overall a mixed bag of opinions, chris himself who does the show rounds is lovely but buying your first home is a bit of a minefield to say the least, We had two failed property's with them. 1st property where the seller pulled out because we wouldn't pay 3.6k towards HIS defective lease this went on for a few months and resulted on us missing the deadline of our tenancy end in our current property. The estate agents was not considerate of the situation & didn't offer anything else within our criteria and just went about their day knowing we'd still be open to further properties as we were staying in air bnb's and hotels at the time. They just re listed the property as "newly" on the market when in fact it had been listed for the best part of 6-8 months prior. The second property we went to attend a viewing in which they hadn't pencilled in and we had to call whilst being stood outside for 15 minutes. to which we was told we never confirmed even though we had written confirmation of both ourselves and themselves agreeing a time etc, We was then rushed during this viewing because they'd double booked. We went onto register interest in another property and just never received a follow up. We shown interest in this property more than once left vm's and emails. If you're thinking about selling i would not use them as they don't care about you at all & have probably scared many other potential buyers off as well. After a whole year we managed to find a house with another estate agents stress free, This house did not come with free mould, soiled floorboards, leaking roofs, Landlord special cover ups & the area was not mis sold as a nice area when in fact it gave shameless a good run for its money.

She was always approachable, professional, and willing to help throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend her to anyone buying or selling a property. Even after the sale was completed, she continued to offer advice and support whenever needed, demonstrating her genuine commitment to her clients.

Dewi Jones was able to put my property up for sale online within a week, and immediately we had multiple viewings. I got the price I wanted and it was a easy process as Dewi is professional and communicates regularly, he was always available to have a quick chat and keep me up to date.

19th Jul 2026 (14 days ago)I don't normally write reviews, but based on the very negative experience i have had marketing my property with Sell Well, i thought i would write this to make future sellers aware of what to expect.<br><br>The only positives i can say for Sell Well, were the video tour they do as part of the online marketing and their fees are lower than their competition.<br><br>in terms of the negatives, there are many.<br><br>Poor communication throughout - This includes a lack of feedback post viewings. I often only received feedback after i chased them.<br><br>No single point of contact for my property meaning i got different information on viewings and offers depending on who i spoke to.<br><br>No contact to inform me a viewing was cancelled. I only found out when i rang them.<br><br>On a separate occasion I was told a viewing was cancelled. Later that afternoon, I received an alert from my house alarm that someone had entered my property. At the time I was away on holiday, so was quite concerned at this message. On checking the alarm system, I saw it was your agent conducting the 'cancelled' viewing.<br><br>Sell Well provided feedback on a viewing that never took place - A viewing was booked to take place and i received some feedback that 'the property wasn't suitable, but the viewer wouldn't say why. Something didn't feel right with the feedback, so i checked the security footage at my property. On checking the footage, the agent can be seen arriving where she remained for 20 mins and then left. No viewer arrived. Rather than saying it was a 'no show' Sell Well gave me feedback that was made up.<br><br>The average time to book viewings in was over 10 days from a viewing being requested to taking place. Compared to other estate agents, this is significantly longer. I am not sure why viewings take so long to take place, but i do not think this helps sell the property.<br><br>Offers put forward with no knowledge of the sellers actual position. 1st offer i received was from someone who's house had only just gone on the market. While i was happy with their offer i did not initially know their position. After 2 months they still couldn't proceed. 2nd offer was from an individual who didn't have an agreement in principle, was looking to buy my house as a second property and wasn't aware of the extra stamp duty he would have to pay. After speaking to a financial advisor, he had to with draw the offer as he couldn't afford it. Even worse though, was the fact Sell Well allowed him to offer on my property and another property at the same time. While they have to put offers forward, i wasn't initially told he was offering on 2 of their properties.<br><br>Due to the poor service I received i cancelled my contract with Sell Well (after their 16 week sole agency agreement) and have moved to another agent. Within 24 hours of it going live with the other agent i had viewing request, which they booked in for 3 days later. So a stark improvement compared to Sell Well.<br><br>I feel like i have wasted the last 4 month with Sell Well and based on my experience, i would not recommend them to anyone.
7th Jun 2025 (1 year ago)I found the information pack produced by Oliver James very useful when deciding which estate agent to use. I was promptly inform of every step of the selling process. I cannot praise Oliver James and his staff enough for making a potentially stressful experience so easy.
16th Jul 2026 (17 days ago)Our experience with your company has been extremely disappointing. The behaviour of Jack and Chris was rude, dismissive and demeaning. Their approach made it clear that they had little interest in cooperating with prospective buyers or communicating in a professional and respectful manner.<br><br>In addition, we found that some of your property listings did not accurately reflect the information being presented on the property platforms, creating unnecessary confusion and wasting our time.<br><br>As the agency that describes itself as the “number one estate agent in Manchester”, I would suggest that greater emphasis is placed on customer service and communication. Buyers and sellers alike deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, without passive-aggressive or dismissive interactions. Our experience fell well below the standard we would expect from a professional estate agency.
26th Aug 2021 (4 years ago)As a landlord I would say you should avoid dealing with Taylor Jackson. They were dire at best. Totally incompetent as letting agents. Problems we had: The tenants rent was agreed but he never paid the full amount. They falsified a Tenancy agreement, we only found this out when we sold the property. They did not inspect the property. They held onto money the tenant did pay, we only found out by accident that the Tenant had paid, I am fairly sure had we not found out they would never have paid and their accounting system is dreadful. They had work carried out for us and we did not get any invoices just a charge. The tenant owed 18 months rent in the end so we sold the property. Good riddance Taylor Jackson!

He managed to get me to move in and worked his absolute hardest for me to be able to move in when I needed to. Absolutely fantastic service and consider anyone else that he isn’t taking care of lucky! Genuinely one of the best services I have received. Thank you for making my process less stressful and helping so much!!<br><br>Had a viewing with Harris today and he was extremely helpful! Answered all my questions and was able to help me decide on the apartment that I wanted. Made the viewing fun as well so made me more interested in renting with X1!! Overall great experience<br><br>Had a viewing with Alana, she was fantastic!! Was able to answer all my questions and was extremely professional and patient with me when answering all my questions. 100% recommend !
