I first used Wenlock & Taylor in 2005 to do a survey of a flat I wanted to purchase in Kensal Rise, and Jeremy Taylor did a very professional and thorough job. A few years later, I asked Wenlock & Taylor to rent the very same flat which they did quickly and successfully. More recently I asked them to do a valuation of the flat (same one) and sell it for me; which again, they did very successfully and also got more than the asking price for it. Throughout my dealings with Wenlock & Taylor, and in particular Peter Woolner in Sales, I cannot praise their reliable, straight forward, no nonsense approach enough. I have dealt with some very unsavoury estate agents in the past and Wenlock & Taylor's client service has been exceptional and outstanding. Their original 70s decor (which is fashionable again!) tells you that they have been in business in the area for a very long time and more important, it is reflected in their excellent "traditional" values in doing sound business with all too rare, courteous good manners! With so many rogue independent estate agents and arrogant personnel in the "big" or new chains I cannot praise Wenlock & Taylor enough. Thank you for supporting me through a very difficult transition and going the extra mile (literally) to make things happen on time (Peter you know what I'm talking about!) It has been a pleasure to do business with you. Huge thanks for being magnificent from start to finish.
Shelley Hampton at Abacus in West Hampstead was the hardest working, most committed negotiator I have ever dealt with. She clearly understood what I was looking for and was very proactive in providing options to view. I cannot commend her highly enough.
My boyfriend and I have rented a flat in Ulysses Rd, West Hampstead for the past 18 months and yesterday some lowlife scumbags broke the door down, ransacked the place and made off with pretty much everything of any value including many things of sentimental value. This was the second time this has happened in 6 months, despite numerous requests for improved security by us and our neighbours in the flat above.
I am now, understandably, too terrified to stay in the flat and so we have reluctantly had to instruct the estate agent, Abacus Estates to terminate our tenancy agreement forthwith. So far they seem to have accepted our position with good grace and have promised that we will be refunded our deposit in full with compensation for our stolen property as this second break-in could have been avoided… we will have to wait and see as so far it’s just been broken promises... I will keep you all informed of the outcome.
My family have been living in the South Hampstead area for over 60 years. Approximately 12 years ago we engaged the services of Abacus Estates to look after our various rental properties. Having dealt with James Altman and his team over the years, i cannot recommend them high enough for their commitment, service and attention to detail.
