After viewing a flat, I agreed to proceed with the next steps and was promptly asked to pay a holding deposit. I promptly made the payment on Wednesday.
On Thursday, as I was preparing the necessary paperwork, I received a message from the estate agent informing me that they had decided to offer the flat to someone else.
This is completely unethical and defeats the entire purpose of a holding deposit. A holding deposit should ensure that the property is taken off the market and reserved exclusively for the applicant—not used while they continue to entertain other offers.

Uncivil, impolite and unprofessional bucket shop in my opinion. They lurk in Openrent as well, where you're meant be directly in contact with landlords.

These estate agents are crooks. Stay away from them. Very unprofessional and useless. I had mould and damp in the property we were renting and had builders in there so often that I should have started charging them rent. They never got issues resolved. We had no light in the bathroom for 12 weeks and had to have a shower in the dark using the torch from our phone. They left wardrobes and beds in the property even though we asked for it to be unfurnished, Mr Murthi asked me to move it all into the garden where they stayed for 4 months. The boiler was leaking. There was a leak in the bathroom. The laminate floor boards all swelled up from the leak. The sockets in the kitchen didn’t work so I had to use an extension wire and plug the fridge in across the kitchen which was dangerous. There was so much mould behind the washing machine the whole wall was covered and they just wiped it and painted over it. The mould in the bathroom was also wiped and painted over about 4 times but the paint kept dripping off so they came and put plaster boards over to disguise it. They can’t deny that I was a tenant like they have the previous comments. I can upload pictures of the property and my signed contract if needed. We ended up in court because the living conditions were atrocious and when ever I contacted them Mr Murti was doing his pooja. For these reasons I stopped paying rent and we ended up in court. They signed a Tomlin in court to return the deposit to me when I vacated the property but tried to scam me. This also didn’t work in their favour. I told Mr Murti I needed a reference to move out and he blackmailed me saying we will give you a reference if you pay £5000. These people are an absolute joke. Stay away!!! I feel sorry for anyone who has had to deal with them. They are an absolute joke. After we moved out, even the landlord had had enough that he decided to sell the property.

Stay away from this 'agents',completely unprofessional and dodgy!Also,stop lying that i didn't had any interaction with you,I just left your flats in Watford,because your dodgy employees took advantage of my desperation in searching for a flat and instead keeping the price we agreed initially,they changed the price when they saw me in desperate need of a flat.While i was paying more,the other identical flats that moved in same period with me,were paying much more less.People deserve to know this.Also,when confronted,the owner and his employees started pushing me away and ask me to leave their offices,threatening me and showing me the middle finger.Pure education!
