Allsopp rented. my wife and I an excellent apartment a few years ago. Since then we have had first class attention and services. Whenever appliances have had problems or needed replacement they have received very quick attention with very little delay and excellent specialist professionals available at short notice.
This is particularly important with some management of repairs in the apartment block beyond the direct responsibility of Allsopp including. leaking roofing and Velux window original installation getting. quick and excellent. attention.
All this is making our stay in Harpenden very pleasant and relatively trouble free.

Allsopps were Brilliant throughout the process of letting my property.
Honest and reliable. The pricing was spot on. Viewings were carried out in a timely manner at times convenient to the current tenant. The property was let for the price advertised and a new tenant found and contracts signed so the new tenant moved in the day after the old one moved out.
Allsopps organised some minor repairs, certification and a professional clean.
The deposit was dealt with fairly. Both the incoming and out going tenants were happy with the whole process.

Praise for Allsopps Harpenden. I rented a central apartment for a two year period and had a great experience. The initial engagement process was smooth and transparent which was most welcome against the stresses of relocating to a new area with small children (plus immense pressure from competition to secure a property from other renters).
I did have a few teething problems when I moved in but these were all dealt with swiftly and professionally using a range of local, trusted and reliable tradespeople.
Allsopps were always highly responsive to any queries and issues and I was confident any matter would be dealt with in a timely and effective way.
The end of tenancy was also remarkably smooth and pain free and no delay in returning my deposit. I would not hesitate to recommend Nick, Charlie and the rest of the team to any potential clients.

I hate to be the negative reviewer, but there is no excuse for my experience with Alsopp. Arranged a viewing by email. I even specified that I might be a couple of minutes late and was told that was fine. Arrived to find someone else outside who had arranged a viewing 10 minutes before mine. After a few calls to Alsopp getting totally conflicting information (we were initially told they were on their way, then later told they arrived on the dot for my appointment then had to leave for another viewing, but the other viewer was already there before my viewing slot, plus the agent should surely have factored in a few minutes for me to actually look at the property) we eventually established that the agent wasn't coming. 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

Leaving a one star review because agents were condescending and did not respond sufficiently to my attempts to have a professional relationship with them - despite offering 6 months rent upfront and good credit.
Was told to go back to Rightmove. Very poor customer service.
not to do with the pet situation, but legislation also doesn't allow this by law so furthermore very unprofessional.

Allsopp Harpenden: Nick, Andy, Charlie & the team - are a delight to deal with. Absolutely first class - sourced us a wonderful house and were pleasant and professional to the maximum to deal with. We had an issue with one rude tradesman we had to deal with that they supplied - but I'd give them still a full 10/10 as everything else was perfect, and I'd have to round it to 10 as any lower would be unfair...! They had email confirmation from us that we are cash in the bank cash buyers, but still told seller that we are in complicated position where we need to sell our property and secure mortgage.
We got there at the end, but they tried really hard to not to make it happen. One can only guess what was the motivation behind it.
Sweet talking, but unprofessional with absolutely no integrity or morals.
Triple check everything if you decide to deal with them.

Nick, Charlie and the team at Allsopp are a dream to work with. I have since worked with many more estate agents after moving away from Harpenden and these guys are hands down the best. I didn't think I'd ever say this about an estate agent but I truly miss working with them. We rented a property from them in Harpenden for 2 years. They're always very dependable, prompt to respond to our requests and on hand with good recommendations/solutions to our queries. They also have a good relationship with the landlord, which helps a lot from a tenant's perspective when it comes to negotiations and finding solutions to anything that may have come up during the tenancy. The fact that they are a relatively small agency also means I get to know everyone there and feel that their service is both personal and professional at the same time.
