I had an incredibly negative experience with Ashworth Holme while they were tasked with selling the property I was renting. Despite my landlord assuring me that no viewings would take place until the end of my tenancy, the agents were extremely pushy and constantly demanded viewings, far more than the agreed-upon once per week. As someone working from home, I couldn’t just accommodate people at all hours, but they didn’t seem to care.
On several occasions, they didn’t even show up for scheduled viewings, leaving potential buyers knocking on my door unannounced. Worse, they failed to inform viewers that I was the current tenant, and I even overheard them dismissively telling people that it didn’t matter because I’d be leaving at the end of the month – which was completely untrue.
Their carelessness didn’t stop there. On multiple occasions, they left the back door wide open when I wasn’t home, and despite my explicit requests, they allowed people to wear shoes inside, forcing me to clean the carpets. One time, they even let someone look inside my wardrobes, which felt like a gross invasion of privacy.
The worst came when I had to visit family for an emergency and informed them that viewings would need to be postponed. Instead of being understanding, they falsely told my landlord that I was refusing viewings altogether, which resulted in me being served a Section 21 eviction notice. Adding insult to injury, they also shared my personal contact details with surveyors and the buyer, blatantly breaching GDPR, despite me not even being the landlord.
This entire ordeal was an absolute nightmare. Ashworth Holme caused an immense amount of stress during an already difficult time, and their unprofessionalism and lack of communication made everything worse. The property should never have been marketed while I was still living there, and I cannot recommend avoiding them strongly enough.

Very unprofessional, ill mannered, unreliable and unresponsive.
I suggest everyone please don’t sale/ buy your property with them .
I was the buyer and last week of the contract exchange. They threatened me to break the deal, (like they own it ). They will hardly reply your mails and will misguide you all the time .
They didn’t even send mail for key collections on completion day. That’s very unprofessional and unreliable.
If you raise any queries to the seller they will not even check with them and will convey to you xyz things.
Kindly stay away from these unprofessional state agent otherwise be ready to jump into the mess .

From day one their communication was exemplary, and commitment to service truly outstanding. On our house sale they acted not only as estate agent, but more like consultants through the whole process.
Through their excellent marketing and extensive contacts, Ashworth Holme we were to secure seven offers well over a well priced asking price, and manage the sales process expertly to completion.
The team know the Sale market better than anyone and their advice navigating the purchase process (with no gain for themselves) was a real help.

After a consultation meeting, we chose to pay the up-front fee rather than go for "no sell, no fee" and were advised on the asking price (above what we had expected). Photos were taken and a lovely brochure was produced. Viewing requests quickly came in and all of these were booked when suitable for us and viewings led by Ashworth Holme. We have rented through Ashworth Holme for the past 2.5 years. The Apartment was in good condition for its age and any issues that cropped up were dealt with by the agency swiftly. Towards the end of our tenancy, we had to move dates on a couple of occasions and the agency and landlord were very amenable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ashworth Holme to anyone looking to rent in Manchester!

We have rented a property from Ashworth Holme for the past 3 years and they have been amazing throughout. The property was clean and welcoming from day 1 and needed little to nothing done at all before we moved in. Anything that we needed, the guys were more than happy to assist without hesitation. Even at the end of our tenancy, they have made it such an easy and enjoyable experience throughout. Especially for the likes of myself, being the first property I had and being responsible for everything for the first time, I could not have wished for a better agency to work with and would recommend to anyone looking to rent a property.

As the owners of the property on Greenway close reviewed below we were immediately made aware of the situation regarding this viewing. We did not hear the conversations referred to in the review but would like to point out that a neighbour who witnessed the conversation did go to the trouble of offering support to the agent who he said, had remained courteous throughout.
We have found Ashworth Holme to be very professional, fair, and efficient and would highly recommend them.

We went to view property for sale at Greenway close 14th/August 2020 in Sale, Manchester. The appointment was confirmed by email by Nathan at 1400 (no instruction on how long the viewing slot was planned for, no instruction on children were not allowed to enter the property). We run 6 minutes late due to road work on the way from Warrington where we came from. The estate agency lady who was waiting for us and meant to take us through to view the property was very rude. Her welcoming statement was, before even saying hello " you are 6 minutes late, you have only 7 minutes remaining to view the property, which we accepted, then she said children are not allowed in I am afraid. You may need to re book another viewing slot". I challenged her to say nobody said from your agency that children were not allowed in in the property. She said no I have mentioned that verbally over the phone---- this was untrue--- as I have not spoken to a lady over the phone at all before hand from the estate agency.
In essence we were refused entry to the property solely by this lady. Surely the landlord is not aware of all of this.
The lady was very unprofessional and she looked unhappy to do her job. I have immediately taken my family back home and lost interest in the property and certainly with this estate agency. Very disappointed and frustrated

I cannot speak highly enough of Andy and his team. We live on the other side of the world to Manchester and entrust Ashworth Holme to manage our house in Manchester. Being so far away means that we cannot be on hand if anything happens but I trust Andy and his team totally. They have proved time and time again that they will look after us and make sure that everything is taken care of, without us needing to worry.
We have entrusted Andy and Ashworth Holme with managing the rental of our house for over 7 years and the service and professionalism has always been exemplary! The team regularly go above and beyond in order to ensure that the house is looked after.
Added to this, the understanding and knowledge of the local market, means that I would recommend wholeheartedly that Ashworth Holme be the first, and only, agents you look to if you want a team to manage your property.

Had an awful experience bidding on a house they had for sale. The words Sale Agreed don't mean anything to them. We were bidding on a house which had already been sold, without our knowledge. We pulled out. If you are bidding on one of their properties, maybe look at homebuyers insurance, and make sure it covers gazumping.
