Really hopeless when it comes to getting viewings for rentals or updated information. They say they’ll call and don’t etc … Many of the staff are rude and blunt. I saw several reviews that they’re not good for landlords or tenants and in my experience i wouldn’t recommend and definitely wouldn’t use to rent.

Hi all. I just wanted to post a warning to #Landlords about using #Austwick #Berry as #PropertyManagementAgents for rental properties. They let a pristine newly decorated flat to a tenant 4 years ago and I got back a hovel that required decorating throughout, new oven, extractor, shower cubicle etc etc because they had allowed it to get so disgusting that the mould, limescale, dirt, bodyfat etc had eaten into the fixtures and/or would not come off. They carried out only 3 six monthly checks in 4 years. These reports stated "consistent with use" under standard of housekeeping so I didn't look into or question if this was actually the case. I attached acouple of photos I took post-tenant of their opinion of "consistent with use" ???? They also do not report to you things that need fixing - apparently you have to "read the report" to find out for yourself. I have learned my lesson that sitting back and expecting the letting agency #austwick #berry to fulful their contractual duties was stupidity on my part but hey-ho - I trusted #austwick #berry to do the job they were paid to do without me checking up on them every 5 minutes - that's the point of paying them surely? If you look at the photo's bare in mind that 4 years ago there was not one iota of black mould/rust/discolouration of any sort, anywhere. In the agents words 4 years ago - it looks a million dollars.

Cannot urge people to avoid this estate agents enough! As first time buyers, we had the worst experience buying a house through Austwick Berry. Throughout the process, we experienced delays due to Austwick Berry not passing on information / not enlisting our solicitors untill 2 weeks after the purchase we agreed even though they had the information. The worst part about the experience was the rudeness from the sales manager. Putting the phone down on me when I simply asked whether they had passed information on which on various occasions was not done, telling me I do not know about the process (which I clearly don’t and never said I did!), and showing clear disrespect for women as he spoke to my partner very differently.
We contacted the managing partner listing the issue and have received no response. No one deserved to be treated how I was and I would stay well clear of this company for future use!
Would give 0 stars if I could.

I was looking for a home to move in with specific specifications in a specific area (!) and Maria called me straight away when she spotted such property of my choice was available. Viewing was arranged with Tony and few days later Bobby did a brilliant job in getting my offer negotiated and accepted. I must say Maria and Bobby have been excellent, professional, proactive and an absolute pleasure to deal. My partner and I have had bad credit due to past relationships. Both now financially stable but could not find an agency willing to help in anyway. Kept getting knocked back on references and checks! Until... We came across Austwick Berry. Immediately after explaining our situation and we told them we feel like we're being judged due to our past, instantly they said they would try their best and didn't they just. Harriet and Hannah in the lettings department were kind, supportive and very on the ball. Harriet approached landlord and put our story across. Our checks came back OK and our references, and we're now going into our third week in our new home. Just in time for the birth of our first child. Austwick Berry didn't judge us, what they did was listened, understood and pitched us perfectly to the landlord who then was willing to take on our application. We honestly can't thank Austwick Berry enough. Can highly recommend. My wife and I have used Austwick Berry to sell two properties now, and we could not be happier with their customer service. Each time they have been very honest, supportive and considerate of our needs as customers, and always keep us informed on progress. They go above and beyond to help, are excellent communicators and made us feel like their priority even though they probably had many other customers selling properties that are far more expensive than ours! They also introduced us to a very professional and reasonable solicitor, and a very helpful mortgage broker who saved us thousands of pounds in interest on our mortgage.
If we ever sell again, we will most definitely be using Austwick Berry, as in this day and age a reliable and honest estate agent is very hard to find!

Rubbish estate agency, they were unable to sell my house even though it was on the market for months and the price was lowered twice. We went with another agent and it was sold in 3 days for the original higher price. Rude staff who lie and misinform you. Poor communication, avoid Austwick Berry!

Absolutely appalling rude and arrogant lettings manager. Tried to make a complaint and managing director (Tony) didn't return our calls or emails. Lettings manager made it very difficult to get the key to our property back and tried to change the timeline of events despite emails cleat showing otherwise. Lettings manager known to be like this after speaking to other estate agents. So glad we decided to take our business elsewhere and get a different estate agent to market and manage our property.

Letting agency is appalling, was let down 3 times on different properties despite having top references, funds for deposit and a secure good job. Made viewing arrangements to view a property only a hour before viewing to be told it cannot be viewed due to tenant feeling ill, made a second appointment then again a call just before viewing and told it's gone. Never got back to me when they said they would and felt like excuses, but why? Feels like they really don't care having myself put in alot of effort with nothing in return, which is sad because people looking to rent houses are usually in a situation of moving out so need definite arrangements.

Phoned several days in a row about a letting. On the third day we was told the property couldn't be views until the forst. Two days before the first I phoned again later o arrange the viewing to be told the property was alredal gon someone had viewed it and taken it. If we had been offered a viewing the first time we had called maybe we would be in our dream home. phoned for reason why this had happened. Was told someone would call the next day to say why. I am still waiting on this phone call.

Tony Austwick and his team are absolutely SUPBERB on every level. I can honestly say they are the friendliest, most caring and professional team I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. As this is a family run Estate Agents as opposed to a large corporate business, I really feel that Austwick Berry go that extra mile. Whether you are selling or buying through them, Tony and his team are always on hand to give you support and advice through the entire process, helping to make it as stress-free as possible. Their rates are also much more reasonable than other local agents and they take a very fair and moralistic approach to the business of buying and selling houses. I highly recommend them if you want an excellent, hassle-free service.
