We were extremely disappointed with our recent experience with Bagshaw's Estate Agents when viewing a property at Bailey's Mill in Matlock. The agent arrived 25 minutes late to our scheduled appointment, leaving us exposed to the rain.
While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur, agents need to communicate such delays promptly. Had we not taken the initiative to contact the office, we would have been left waiting indefinitely.
Furthermore, we had repeatedly inquired about the service charge associated with the property, both in advance and the day before the viewing. Despite our requests, we received no clear information. This lack of communication was frustrating and unprofessional.
The property itself was appealing, but the service provided by Bagshaw's was far below our expectations. I would not recommend this agency to anyone seeking a reliable and efficient experience, both on the selling or viewing parties.
We feel sorry for the vendor that such sub-par standards are being used to represent such a lovely property.

So disappointing. Started off well, then they lost staff, no contact for weeks. Couldn't get through on the phone. New starter - great promise only to be waiting weeks for any update or response to emails. They told me they were going to take steps to find a buyer and 2 weeks later told me they had employed someone else who would be taking the steps they promised to carry out 2 weeks before. No update since that of course and no response to my emails. Don't bother trying to call as you won't get through. I tried three times a day for 2 weeks, never got through and eventually gave up calling. Property initially sold quickly, buyer pulled out due to boiler issues - but I'd provided service record and evidence of minor fix needed, can't prove it of course but doubt the full information was sent across to the buyer - provided all the information and instructions to send to the buyer asap only to be asked a few days later if they were allowed to send it across. It then took them over a week to confirm the buyer had pulled out after I contacted them when the buyer's lawyer advised my lawyer after they chased for progress due to lack of response. Absolutely no movement or viewings in over 3 months but then I've only managed to speak to them once on the phone so I can only assume people wanting to book viewings are not able to get through either. Absolutely abysmal. Seem to spend all their time upselling and onboarding new properties rather than actually selling the properties they have. I'm speaking to other agents and will be getting my notice to finish my contract with them as soon as I am able. Be warned they will include a self-awarded bonus within their contracts and tie you to an initial period of 5 months advertising with them.

rang to view property they had listed; agent seemed more interested in arranging a valuation on my own home (cart before horse IMO). When I cancelled that, I was told I'd get a call back with a date and time to view the house I was interested in but it never happened. Owner's loss, I was a genuine buyer, but I wouldn't want to be selling through them!

We have recently sold our house through Bagshaws Bakewell .Firstly we sold our property subject to contract within days of marketing and the pre sale process was not only smooth with attention to detail but highly professional throughout . Viewings were arranged efficiently with prompt feedback offered including beautiful photographs and additional advice regarding legal and moving services. Our sale despite being lengthy and protracted never the less was straight forward and efficiently handled . At each stage the team at Bagshaws kept us up to date and informed. A particular big Thank you to George Chandler @ Bagshaws who without a doubt through his excellent communication made the stressful experience of moving house all the easier. Didn't have a great experience overall. No problems in regards to moving in aside from the fees which we felt were completely unjustified, but one of the issues once we were in was that we consistently struggled to get meter readings - or even a reply via email or phone regarding this, and trying to call the office to speak to the agent we were dealing with (Hannah) was almost impossible. Promises to call back after lunchtimes were rarely fulfilled. The biggest issue, and one still ongoing, was trying to tie up the final energy bills as Bagshawe were switching the energy supplier at the end of our tenancy.

This estate agents is much superior to others in my experience over recent years. If George says he will ring you back he always does. If we have a question whose answer takes some exploring he does this too. He answered many questions from our buyer to try to enable a smooth sale. Bags haws are always there when you need them from start to finish. The photographs and writing up the sales advertisement to completion nothing was too much trouble.
