Barkers came and estimated the house I was selling. She asked me how much I wanted, I said the house over the road was for sale for £135k and I though mine was worth at least that or more, as I had a bigger garden and better location. She said yes put it up for £135k and she’s certain it would fly off the shelf! The thing is, I wasn’t desperate to sell quickly and I was expecting that she would value the house, not just ask me how much I wanted to sell it for, surely that’s their job to advise on? Anyway I put it up for £145k with a different agent and sold at £143.5k to the first person who viewed it! Long story short, using Barkers would have lost me £8.5k (agent fees were the same between both agents).

Was nervous about selling my property as never done it before but Barkers took all the stress out of it. Cathy in particular helped me through the whole process, including my purchase and kept me updated throughout. Would definitely use this agent again and highly recommend.

Only reply to emails when it suits them. Have a really relaxed view of getting emergency work done for tenants. Make terrible excuses.
They come across as nice people, saying all the right things, but they are in no Rush to do hard work to help tenants in Need.
Now had flooding in the cellar for 49 days. Not great
Probably the worst part is myself and my wife have been Expected to clean the water up everyday whem theres been lots of water in The cellar, which has been around 40 out of 49 days, Not very fair on Good Tentants who Pay rent in Full And on Time Every month.

They don't reply to enquiries via property websites like on the market. They Don't reply to emails. They don't reply to Facebook messages. If you ring they tell you they'll get someone to call you back. Never do though. Very unprofessional

Having worked in the conveyancing field for many years I always found the staff at Barkers helpful and very pro-active, so when it came to selling my Mum's house there was really no other choice. They are realistic in their valuations which goes a long way to securing a quick sale. As always the staff were very friendly but professional which made the whole experience easy. especially Liz.
