They refused us to rent a property cos of partner's unfair ccj. Fair play by Peter who returned the deposit,a good man. The reason for 3 stars is another boss Paul made the decision not to let us when the landlord was happy for us to move in. Otherwise, why Kelly would ring us to arrange to pop in to office to pay the rest of deposit and monthly rent. The next day this pathetic man makes decision on behalf of landlord.

We have worked with Barons for nearly 2 years and it has been very positive.
No problem is too big and they are always very quick to react in any situation whether it is a faulty washing machine to looking for a new tenant. They make everything go so smoothly and never seem like anything is a bother.
We work mostly with Kate who always goes above and beyond for us - collecting post and checking in over weekends if there was a problem and we can tell she works closely with our tenants also.
I would highly recommend Barons for any of your rental needs!

Efficient and business like. Viewings handled well however no feedback after viewings. More than two people arriving to view during COVID. Offers made but people could not afford to proceed. I suspect thorough checks were not made. Errors in presentation of property. Wrong address and spelling mistakes until I pointed this out although by then it was already on their website. Photographs could have been better i.e dustbins in view on main photograph, I did offer to move them beforehand. Everything felt rushed through. I was not sent or given a copy of my contract. Plenty of viewings and interest. Prices were on the increase however I was being advised my house had not increased for two years when last valued.

The property was advertised promptly and after only a few viewings (supervised by the Barons staff) an offer close to the advertised price was accepted in under 3 weeks. We were kept informed throughout. We chose Barons as a local independent agent who are proactive and respected in the Borehamwood area.

They are most efficient and courteous and have always achieved the best possible price. They monitor all transactions throughout to make sure that they run smoothly. They have never let us down. Even in this difficult climate we have just sold another property, the transaction of which went very smoothly indeed. We feel like we are valued customers and get a personal service. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff in this branch. I truly believe they are the best agent in the area.

When we did find out that my husband does have a CCJ on his record was when we did started the process with this agency.We had no reason to lie as stated bellow, because on there receipt from holding deposit -300£ was clearly stated that if you do not pass the credit check you do loose all the money paid. I did also accepted to pay the credit check fees without a receipt- another 200£ - I have asked for it but they did avoided to give it to me and I accepted - that is clearly my mistake but still shows the way they are dealing with things.
If you are in a situation like we were - one of you is passing the credit check and the other one does not, they do need to give you options - guarantor - that never happened - or a few months in advance rent - not 1 year as they did asked from us.
I did accepted that I lost 500£ but still wanted to express my opinion here about this lack of professionalism.
After a few weeks since my post they called me informing me that my name and my husband name will show on a google search and if I don t want this I should delete my post.
When I mentioned they are more than welcome to reply but without using my name as all the the information is confidential and given in good will for starting a renting process,they did replied that is not true and none of information I gave to them is confidential.
I have been put in the position to ask for advice and help from authorised institutions as all this story is going too far.
So if you do want to be treated as described please use their services.
If you do want to deal with the situations smoothly and having a personal and professional approach they are definitely not the right company to deal with.

Pathetic more than anything. I gave them my house to sell and just sent people to my property without arranging with me. It got so bad I had to turn someone away at 9:30pm as my child was asleep. We allowed a number of people in, but it got to the point we just gave up with Barons. To top it off they told us if we appointed another agent within the 14 week contract they would charge us!!!! Do not use
