Charters began in 2008, starting with the flagship estate agency branch on Jewry Street, central Winchester.

Run and led by exceptional estate agents with a wealth of experience and success, we have continued to evolve into a well-renowned network of offices in Hampshire and Surrey.

We have now opened branches in the market towns of Romsey and Bishops Waltham. With seven branches across the network, our knowledgeable, local teams are best-placed to understand market conditions, trends, true property values and importantly, the value of the customer.


Ahead of the game

Based in our Chandlers Ford office is the Lettings Administration and Property Management team. This fully compliant department is there to ensure that our landlords receive a first class service throughout the tenancy journey, professionally undertaking all the tasks included within the chosen level of service. Additionally they ensure that tenants can be confident that the home they rent is safe and secure.

Charters also has an experienced and dedicated Land and New Homes team who work closely with developers and customers alike to source the best possible new homes sites, plots of land and dream new build homes on your behalf.

The Commercial team is now based in the Chandlers Ford Head Office where they also continue to grow, finding business premises of all shapes and sizes to suit their clients needs.

Henry Griffin has been a huge help in the sale of a property which proved more difficult to sell than expected. After a buyer withdrew because of Covid, Henry quickly found another buyer who, after a few bumps and a price reduction, proceeded to exchange of contracts. We have received nothing but an outstanding service from Charters during our buying experience. Victoria was extremely proactive in searching for properties to meet our requirements. She was professional, responsive and efficient. We viewed some properties with Elle who again, we would highly recommend. She was extremely knowledgable on the properties and provided a professional service showing brilliant personal skills and customer service. I have had dealings with Charters in being a potential buyer of a property which was on the market with them. When I called to arrange a viewing I was told there was no time to show me this property for just over a week as they were too busy. This property was also on the market with another agent so I called them to see if I could view the property and managed to see it that same evening. A week later we had put in an offer and were in the process of buying said property. The experience I have had with charters since then has been, in my opinion, one of complete unprofessionalism. Firstly after we had our offer accepted on the property through another agent, charters ignored instruction to take the listing down from right move and their website for the best part of a week, leaving us potentially exposed to being gazumped. It took several requests from various parties for them to remove the property from right move. Now weeks after this I am informed that charters have contacted the owner of the house we are in the process of buying, and told them that we are pulling out of the sale and have offered on another property. Understandably the owner grew concerned and had to contact the agent we are buying through to ask if this was in fact true. Our agent reassured him that this was not the case. Charters had completely misinformed the seller and put in jeopardy, our whole chain. This whole experience has been one that has instilled in me, for any future buying or selling, that I will not under any circumstances deal with charters. I feel ever since we had our offer accepted on our new home, they have gone out of their way to throw a spanner in the works. This shows me that the companies values are not in line with the community and spirit of chandlers Ford. I would not recommend this company for people selling and I would not recommend this company for people looking to buy.
