Let me down twice just to view a property.
First of all the customer service was rude from Chelsea. Kept talking about financial appointments?!
Second of all, booked viewing twice on a property and was let down by Edward.
Then a guy called Jake called didn’t apologise and tried to say view another property…
No urgency, Poor agent.
Very poor service overall. Don’t recommend to buy or sell with this agent.
Go somewhere else.

Avoid these people at all cost, our family has been on property for 3 month now. We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired, the shower doesn't work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go.

I put my house up for sale through charters. They gave a good pitch and said the right words. Within a week an offer was made, a ridiculously low offer but I was advised strongly to take it as the market was so risky. I said I’d only take the offer if the buyers had a mortgage. Again I was advised they have a water tight mortgage they are a serious buyer. So I accepted. I was told to instruct solicitors asap to get the ball rolling, Which I did. Then silence. More silence. Then when I chased up the sale of my house I was told the buyer was arranging a survey don’t worry it’s all going smoothly..so I waited and waited. Then I got a phone call saying that they buyer could not get a mortgage and I was told to sit tight as they were attempting to get a bridging lone. More silence I chased up constantly and was given excuses or passed to different departments until I was told actually the buyer is pulling out as they don’t have the funds. In turn this cost me £1000 in abortive legal fees. There was no apology and the manner I was spoken to was dismissive and rude.

I want to thank Venessa at Charters Chandler's Ford, who helped turn things around for us in a short time, when she took over the file. We had put in our offer, which was accepted, however- it was not made clear to us fom the onset, ( by previous agent) that there were additional parties involved in the chain, which meant the purchase was not progressing as we expected. This was only discovered and disclosed to us when Venessa took on our file from the previous agent. She ensured she kept us updated and chased the other agents and solicitors weekly and was not cross on the many occassions we rang her. She reassured us she was reaching out to the other agents to push for progress as we were nearing the end of our mortgage offer period. Honestly I could not have asked for a better sales progressor. I must not forget to mention Tom, who on many occasions took us round to view the same house, while we were still considering our options. I will definitely recommend them for your sales or purchase transactions.

The proficiency and responsiveness they have demonstrated in the swift and satisfactory resolution to issues, has been unparalleled by any other agency I have experienced in 20 years of renting.
We have had the pleasure of dealing with Suzanne and Tracey and I cannot praise them highly enough. It’s incredibly reassuring to know that any maintenance issues we have will be left in their capable hands, the fact that they are both wonderful people is just the cherry on the cake.

Having recently sold my flat through Charters (Southampton branch), it was a relatively straightforward process.Once the negotiations had taken place, the sales progression team, namely Stephen provided good customer service. There were many frustrations on my part with the time it was taking for different part of the process which were not on the fault of Stephen or his direct team. It was mortgage companies and solicitors - lack of communication from them. Stephen showed empathy and understanding whenever we talked and I was kept updated on the progress even when there wasn't any news. He was quick to respond to my calls and emails and was consistent his approach. Thank you for your help, Stephen!

I recently changed the tenancy on my rented house. I found that Charters attracted the right quality of potential tenant, and the checking out was efficient, despite the outgoing tenants having to defer their moving out at short notice. The only concern I had was that Charters were encouraging me to sign the new tenancy agreement before the existing tenants moved out, which could have left me liable to the incoming tenants if the sitting tenants cancelling their notice to quit or simply didn't move out on time.

We have recently sold our house through Charters. We had a bit of a mixed experience with them (mainly good) but would like to start with the positives which are due to a few individuals there.
First of which is Jess, we met her when we started to consider moving, our house wasn’t on the market yet but Jess listened to exactly what we were looking for and we felt we were a genuine priority for her to help us find our next home. She’s a real asset to charters, very honest, reliable and knowledgeable in everything she does. Another who is like to mention and give thanks to was Lisa R, she dealt with us once our house had sold, she too was just very approachable, knowledgeable and understanding of our circumstances which was much appreciated.
Charters as a whole we feel just lacks a little bit of team communication. We initially didn’t want a for sale sign, but one was up promptly when we had started the process. In terms of the viewings on our property they were a little hit and miss, we asked for an “open day” style but got told with short notice this wasn’t happening then the viewings were all done by different people who I felt were coming in a little unsure of what they were trying to sell.
After a few weeks on the market it was Jess who requested to come round so I could personally show her the house (she ended up selling it) which I just think makes a big difference to the overall selling experience.
There were times we were called about one thing but then told another. The last encounter we had was them calling me after completion on the sale to ask when I was dropping the keys in for the new homeowners only to advise them I had done this 3 days prior which was at the request of someone else at charters. Little things like this I think really create a bit of disappointment with them when we chose them (mainly because of Jess) but also as they had a great reputation in the area.
Overall Charters are good, just with thanks to some individuals there.

Initial interaction with Olivia Shannon a little unsettling as Olivia has an unfortunate habit of laughing/giggling at intervals when she is introducing herself on the phone or when she is doing follow up calls.
In other words, introduces herself and then laughs, sounds like a nervous laugh.
Presumably her managers haven't noticed or don't consider it an issue. The trouble is, it doesn't inspire confidence - also, as I said to my daughter who had dealt with Olivia on a recent rental and agreed with me, it doesn't sound very professional and is rather disconcerting (why would an estate agent be giggling?)
However Olivia was always on the end of the phone when I asked for her.
She also recommended a property that was in Hiltingbury (it wasn't in that area) and also not sure where Bournemouth Rd was when I was trying to locate a property - maybe it was an off day.
Mike very good and also reassuring.
Spoke to Jess on the phone but it was really difficult to hear what she was saying as her voice is fast and very high pitched. I had to get her to repeat things as she was so shrill.
However very knowledgeable about the property I was buying. Was not fazed by questions about the boiler and was happy to explain the split chain involved.
Suggest managers listen to their staff (literally)to get the impact they are passing on to buyers. I am wondering what kind of staff training Charters are doing. Would it help to listen to how their staff are coming across by phone?

After a rather unpleasant experience with Purple Bricks and no viewings requests after 10 days on the market , I instructed Charters who remarketed my house and which then sold on 1st day of viewings! After selling Jessica Crouch was put in charge of finding me a house. Jess immediately organised a viewing of a house in my preferred area which was not yet on the market and I had my offer quickly accepted on the day of the viewing! Following this Jess kept me up to speed with everyone in the chain with updates on the phone and by email. We have just sold our house and bought our next property through Charters and we could not recommend them highly enough.
Elle, Mike, Victoria, Jess and all the team are not just professional, but get to know the client and the property very well, providing informed and thorough viewings, as well as perceveiring to get the right house for us to move on to, listening and taking under consideration our requirements. Working in very difficult circumstances with Covid, they have not let their customer service down and have kept us well informed throughout, never failing to call and update us.
Their floorplans and photos are professionaly made; and included in the price, and second to none from any other agent in the area, showing off the property at its best.
A very interpersonal service which is just what you need when selling your home. Cannot speak highly enough for all of the team.

I have had dealings with Charters in being a potential buyer of a property which was on the market with them. When I called to arrange a viewing I was told there was no time to show me this property for just over a week as they were too busy. This property was also on the market with another agent so I called them to see if I could view the property and managed to see it that same evening. A week later we had put in an offer and were in the process of buying said property. The experience I have had with charters since then has been, in my opinion, one of complete unprofessionalism. Firstly after we had our offer accepted on the property through another agent, charters ignored instruction to take the listing down from right move and their website for the best part of a week, leaving us potentially exposed to being gazumped. It took several requests from various parties for them to remove the property from right move. Now weeks after this I am informed that charters have contacted the owner of the house we are in the process of buying, and told them that we are pulling out of the sale and have offered on another property. Understandably the owner grew concerned and had to contact the agent we are buying through to ask if this was in fact true. Our agent reassured him that this was not the case. Charters had completely misinformed the seller and put in jeopardy, our whole chain. This whole experience has been one that has instilled in me, for any future buying or selling, that I will not under any circumstances deal with charters. I feel ever since we had our offer accepted on our new home, they have gone out of their way to throw a spanner in the works. This shows me that the companies values are not in line with the community and spirit of chandlers Ford. I would not recommend this company for people selling and I would not recommend this company for people looking to buy.

Such was Charters incompetence that I had to communicate directly with the buyer to get things done! Even when we did this, Charters still claimed they were "waiting for information" even though we had BOTH provided that information. Charters also have a cosy relationship with Dutton Gregory Solicitors (family members working at both firms - wink wink) and they recommend each others services. And then give the most shockingly bad service. They charge a lot of money, do nothing for it and are very pompus. I've bought and sold circa 15 houses before and Charters are by far the worst estate agent I've dealt with. Bishops please come back!

With potential purchasers being cautious as a result of market conditions Elle McCrindle was extremely professional and driven in handling our sale. The service from Victoria Timson & Ella Archer went above and beyond in securing us a really good rental property at very short notice as our buyers wanted a speedy completion. We can not fault the service we received from Victoria Timson and her team. They were very professional. They kept us informed of everything that was happening. So far everything that was promised to us at the beginning of the sale has been carried out. We have other properties and if we decide to sale them at a later date we would definitely use charters.

I have made purchase of my first house with Charters CF some time ago now but now cleaning my mailbox I recalled I was going to place comment here. So on average they are ok but obviously being paid from sell price they try to keep price up. They are not to pushy re use of their Finance Advisor but are pushy to make an appointment with him. Its a matter of him to evaluate if you can afford estate and then he gives an agents green light to process. I had a feeling not ok if person related to agency know what my affordability is. As this information allow agency to keep price high.
Second objection is finalization of purchase. House supposed to be released on Wed but actually we've been told previous owner has a delay and agent have no keys yet. So next day when eventually afternoon house was ready when I arrived to collect a keys they didnt even know where they are or how they look like :) As I have some marketing/sales background I know it’s one of the most disrespectful ways to treat customer.
For a person buying first house for a large amount of money getting keys is something unique. And when he/she gets to agency when nobody knows where keys are, not a word of sorry, not even a thank you card… it’s just not right. I got a few keys that I had to guess which door they open :) Selling cars for years I know that for collection car needs to be shiny, polished, perfumed, sales person is waiting with a keys and small thank you gift. Then customer for sure will be satisfied and more likely comes back. Don’t count on such treatment with Charters tough :)
Other than that all went smooth and successful.

I didn't find a property that was advertised by Charters, however I found Dale and Becky very efficient, professional and friendly in trying to find me the right property, during viewings, and calling me regularly to stay in contact and offering to see properties that were not on the market yet. It's almost a shame that I found a property via a different agency, as I would have trusted Charters with going through the purchase process. The staff were a pleasure to work with and I definitely recommend.

Throughout the process Charters have been extremely helpful and easy to work with. Bookings have been arranged with a decent amount of notice and feedback was usually provided in less than 1 working day.
Following a successful offer on our property 1.5 months into working with Charters, they continued to add value by helping negotiate our chain deal to ensure all buyers in the process were happy.
Out of the 3 houses down my road for sale (each with their own estate agent), we have been on the market to shortice and have had an accepted offer the quickest.
The rate was fairly competive, although some were cheaper. That being said its easily negated by the fast sale we recieved.

Great Service from Charters Chandlers Ford - Would not hesitate to recommend to friends/family.
I specifically dealt with Victoria Richardson and she was amazing. So quick to reply, efficient with everything, and one of the friendliest people I think I've ever met. I first contacted Charters to sell my property because of their reputation of quality service and friendly staff and Victoria personified this reputation perfectly.
Of the 6 people who came to view my flat, 5 made offers, showing the quality of their buyers, and we did get asking price for my property.
