Extremely happy with the management of the renting part of the appartment and that of the freehold. Firstly taking care of thourough checkings of the potential candidates for rening out the place to.
On-time passing to me of correct information, taking care of finding the right people for repairs, taking more than one quotes. They have an excellent team of well co-operating officers who even go out of their way to help their clients with requests outside their normal obligations to them.

The process of renting with Chinneck Shaw has been great, it's extremely easy to book a viewing and complete referencing for your applications. The only thing that has slightly hindered our experience was that it was occasionally difficult to get hold of somebody to complete paperwork in regards to having a pet. However, once this was sorted everything has gone smoothly and we are very happy with the service provided by the very lovely staff at Chinneck Shaw!

I was very new in Portsmouth 3years ago when house hunting for my family and it was very daunting.
I met Glynis from Chinneck Shaw while viewing one of their apartments. Even though I didn't get that apartment, I ended up liking another another.
I rented with Chinneck for almost 3years and I have nothing but good words for them.
Anytime I had an issue in my home,it was sorted as soon possible. In that short time,I had new appliances installed when the old ones(albeit functioning) failed safety tests.
Repairs were quickly sorted and if not in time,this was always communicated.
I have now moved out of the country but I will highly recommend them anytime!!!

We were shown around by Tim who is extremely knowledgeable and was a breath of fresh air after dealing with many pushy estate agents for the past year. We chose Chinneck and Saw because I wanted honesty and integrity from our agent. And we got that in spades, after bad experiences with agents in the past the team were a welcome change to my norm. The only option for selling your home in portsmouth. We had the most painful situation imaginable with buyers buyer trying to under offer, falling through and disappearing all together for weeks on end. Without Chinneck Shaw and in particular the efforts of Toni, their sales progressor, our move would have no question fallen through. The only sadness of this successful move is we moved far enough away that we won’t be able to use their services again. They were so impressive to the point that the onwards agents we were buying from said they were the best estate agents they had ever worked with. They are always there and the end of a phone call ready to answer any questions and to help out with any issues with my property.
Every one on the lettings side are so helpful and go out there way to help where they can.
Unfortunately the property I was renting got auctioned off and I was unable to cover the new rent increase (not chinnecks fault) so had to move.

My experience with chinneck Shaw estate Agents was AMAZING! I was searching for a property to purchase and I didn’t have a clue how to do so. I tried purchasing another property and the other estate agents in Portsmouth were not helpful. But with chinneck Shaw it was different, Jamie was the most helpful person I could meet. From the moment I booked a viewing to the completion of the purchase. He was always available and helpful throughout the purchase. Even when I had complications with solicitors who weren’t helpful in anyway. He was able to communicate and explain to me what the issues were. He was resourceful in many ways throughout the process. Secondly Toni was able to communicate with the vendor on my behalf perfectly. All the problem I had on my end, Toni was a straight line of communication who I could explain my complications and they could explain these worries to the vendor. Chinneck Shaw have been neglectful, unprofessional, lazy, inconsiderate and have no care for customers.
I've been renting the same property for 11 years now and I've never experienced such poor property management.
One small example, I reported a water leak from the bathroom on the 9/11/2019, and it's still not fixed today 14/01/2023.
I've reported them to The Property Ombudsman in the hope to get something resolved, as that example is very small. Mould issues are forcing me to declare the house as not fit for human habitation, also reported on 13/2/2022 and still not resolved.
Don't make the same mistake as I did, I'm warning others so they can avoid Chinneck Shaw.

Fantastic letting agent. After having a terrible experience with another Portsmouth-based letting agency I’d lost all my faith in letting agents. In December my partner and myself found a property and called to enquire and the lovely lettings/estate agent Glynis very kindly showed us round on her day off on a Saturday as she was going to be in the area. Such a lovely gesture that really sums up the extra mile the team go to. Moving forward with renting property, we have been there six months and have only had one issue; our boiler stopped working at 4:45pm going into a bank holiday. I panicked expecting to be without heating or hot water for the weekend but the other lettings/estate Joe who manages our property sorted for an engineer to be with us before 5pm. We have had no major issues but I’m sure if we did, the team would sort it swiftly - any small queries I have Joe is on the end of the phone within minutes to help answer them. Both Glynis and Joe are a credit to Chinneck Shaw and have restored my faith in letting agents! I’d highly recommend Chinneck Shaw to anyone looking to rent a property; we moved in just before Christmas so you can imagine December was a very stressful time however the knowledge and kindness of the team made the experience so much less stressful than I imagined. I’ve been renting the same property off them since 2013 and I can’t fault them what so ever.
Any issues I’ve had (I’m not saying there have been many) but the odd boiler issue, toilet not flushing properly etc just general ware and tear things as there is no way I’m saying there is always issues ???? within 24/48 hours someone is out and it is fixed. They are always so helpful with the property and friendly. I would definitely recommend them as a letting agency.

Chinnek Shaw were the estate agents for my new house, and they were an absolute treat to deal with. The agent who showed me around the houses on his list was knowledgeable and professional, and had clearly listened to me when I told him ahead of the visit what I was looking for in a property. The agent who dealt with the sale was really helpful in allowing me to bring builders etc to the house even within the constraints of Covid and a hugely busy property market. What I really liked was that they had a dedicated person to sales progression, meaning there was someone ensuring solicitors and others in the chain were doing what they needed to do when they needed to do it! All in all their professionalism, efficiency and helpfulness made the whole process as smooth as buying a house can ever be. As a life long renter, I've often dreaded dealing with estate agents when I move home. Often, as a renter, your made to feel like nothing more than an end user and it seems the customer service is reserved for the landlord.
This wasn't the case with Glynis from Chinneck Shaw. She has been informative, personable and approachable throughout the process. When we viewed the property it was clear she wasn't just slinging us the usual robotic sales pitch I've heard a hundred times before. She even mentioned a potential drawback to the property (very thin walls!) that she wanted us to consider. That honesty spoke volumes, I'm used to agents saying whatever they can to get the holding fee out of you.
Glynis is a credit to the company, and our positive interactions with her were in no small part the reason we decided to move forward with the property in question.
Been in a few days now and happy to report that they are still approachable and helpful even after the 'deal is done'. Cheers

The lettings team at the Portsmouth branch, in particular Glynis, have gone above and beyond to help me secure a nice home. Due to the short time frame between receiving the survey for my purchase and the actual exchange date, they helped by sourcing local trades for me as I was on the IOW and limited to what I could do from there. I really couldn't have managed without them. If there was a higher value than 10 out of 10 the staff at Chinneck Shaw would be 1,000!!! We put our house on the market in January 2020 initially with a different agent. A few weeks of being on the market with very view viewings, we viewed a house which we fell in love with that was being advertise by Chinneck Shaw. We met with Will and explained our circumstances regarding the agent we were using. Always being professional Will gave us some advice and hoped we sold out house quickly. The next day we put in an offer which was accepted on our dream house. Later that day I had a phone call from Will as he felt very passionate about helping us sell our house and gave me lots of advice about how we can advertise our house to its maximum. Eventually we were able to leave our current agent and move to Chinneck Shaw and I have to say we have never looked back. Sadly because of the pandemic we had to sell our house 3 times but we finally moved into our dream house in August! The photos that Jamie from Chinneck Shaw took were far more professional that our previous agent, we had approximately 10 viewings between February and July which considering we were in lockdown from March until May is quite a few. We were always kept informed by Will, Jamie or Tim and they were always very courteous, pleasant and spoke honestly during any updates we received which were very regular and always after a viewing. They worked tirelessly to sell our house so that we could keep the house of our dreams. Not that we plan to move for a long time but if we did, we wouldn't hesitate to contact Chinneck Shaw. Chinneck Shaw came to my rescue when I had been let down by another agent (who don’t have offices and has a colour in their name, Do Not Go anywhere near them even if they say they are cheap they are awful).
After 8 long and stressful months and 3 failed sales attempts I decided to pull from the chain much to my sadness but quickly got in touch with Chinneck Shaw who I naturally should have instructed from the beginning. Within days they had offers and 8 weeks later through all of these tough times they sold my property.
They are the most professional agents I know but to top it off they are the kindest, most thoughtful, empathetic and always kept in touch even when I was struggling to get any news from my solicitors.
I would never trust or use anyone else ever again and highly recommend them so please if you are thinking of buying and/or selling please call the team at Chinnecks you will not be disappointed.

Great experience with Tim and the team. I bought a house a few years ago from Chinneck Shaw and had such a pleasant experience I came back to them when I was looking to sell on.
They were very user friendly, photos for the property were excellent and they kept in constant touch.
They sold the place within 24 hours for full asking price and Toni persevered to push it through despite the Covid 19 issues and ensure a very quick process from start to finish.

We were lucky enough to buy a property that was up for sale with Chinneckshaw. We were dealing with Jamie who gave us updates throughout & kept us informed but we spoke to a few other members of staff in the office too who couldn’t of been more helpful! Nothing was ever to much trouble. We were always kept updated & they even called us the day after we had moved in to make sure everything was okay which I think is an amazing touch! We've been renting through Chinneck Shaw for 6 years - just moved out, no queries or deductions from our deposit, very helpful and flexible in terms of our moving out date too. They've also been prompt in dealing with any issues at the flat during our tenancy, resolved to a mutually acceptable standard and in good time. You hear horror stories about landlords and letting agents, but Chinnecks are not one of them - thanks Joe and the team!

I put my house on the market at the end of January, a little bit nervous as so much negative press about Brexit and a slow market etc. I was so impressed with how quickly viewings started and after a few interested parties, they agreed a sale in less than 3 weeks! We bought a house through this agency and we're genuinely impressed with this agency. Tim, Diane, Lizzie, Jamie and the team were great, always helpful and never felt like a burden. Always had time for our concerns and always followed through on all queries, and were very knowledgeable. Helped that they were also selling our vendors onwards purchase. They didn't try and hard sell us a mortgage via their broker, or thrust us towards their solicitors. Instead they gave good, impartial advice about the solicitors we were considering. Unusually we found ourselves trusting thus agency, and almost enjoyed buying through them! If/when we move we would consider them, especially if the people are the same! We chose Chinneck Shaw as they did not come in to our house with a typical pushy sales attitude. We felt confident they were the estate agents for us. A terrible letting agent from start to finish, we were promised before we moved in that a series of problems would be sorted out and were not and indeed weren't sorted out for months after. After we moved in we found that the house was full of black mould and they had the nerve to blame us for "having showers". Eventually the problems were addressed however they were "fixed" so poorly that they only created more problems a few months down the line including rodents getting into the property. Chinneck shaw are now ignoring all of our attempts at communicating to resolve this issue forcing us to leave. I can't speak for their sales team but never rent from this awful company

Chinneck Shaw dealt with our sale and purchase. A sale was agreed on our house quickly and we quickly found the house we wanted to buy - that was the easy bit! Not many people realise the work that then goes on behind the scenes in the agents office to ensure the transactions go through as smoothly and as quickly as possible.
