Just completed a house purchase this Friday. I used J&D for the entire process. I am a FTB and had lots of questions about the process and they were super helpful. Holly was brilliant at keeping me informed of whats happening and liaising between me and the sellers. Hopefully I wont need an EA for several years but I would use them again!

This is the 5th time I’ve used Jeffries & Dibbens North End to move in the last 25yrs and 4th time buying with them. Although this was the first time for 12 years, they’re still as good as they’ve ever been. I cannot recommend them enough. Adam, Holly, Harry & Nicola were all brilliant and quick to respond to any enquiries and kept us updated throughout the process, pushing to complete the sale when others were dragging their heels. I had the horrible experience of dealing with Brenda. She was vile, rude and lied about the facts of GDPR law trying to get more data from me than needed. That’s not OK. I was firm and gave only what I knew she needed. She makes it impossible to book appointments. Told me I had a firm arrangement and of course cancelled on the day knowing I had travelled from London. She seemed to enjoy my inconvenience and the moment of small power achieved over another person. That’s not a trait any human should harbour. She is a genuinely nasty personality and enjoyed interrupting every sentence of mine mostly to tell me I was talking over her. We have all met this type of person but these Karens are making a tough time in life for us all, even worse. And they get pleasure from that. Brenda does NOT deserve a job when there are so many hard working and kind people seeking work who would be only too glad to be friendly and helpful. This reflects on this whole chain - admittedly only a dozen or so branches. But perhaps the most unpleasant estate agent to date. Claimed she is inundated with work and so didn’t have to make additional effort when I suggested some property networking events. Rudely said she was too busy and wouldn’t “go out touting for business”. I’d call it marketing and networking with developers - but on reflection no one should have this woman inflicted on their event. Nasty woman with an angry and mean spirited personality. Such a waste of a good job someone would love. Such a dreadful agency for permitting this aggression and dire rudeness. Zero stars if I could. Negative even.

From having my offer accepted to moving in took 7 months in my case, it was stressful at times especially as this was my first time buying. Not only is the place run by a bunch of girls who’s more interested in tic tok & instagram then working but they happily took my money & even done me a tenancy agreement for a new property only to pull out hours before I was collecting the keys !!!!!!!
I had a phone call on the 22nd October to tell me there was a property that fitted my requirements did I want to view it , I went to the house & we was left waiting 15 mins over the appointment time out in the cold before the woman turned up !! Then when inside I ask to go in the garden she said sorry there’s no keys
Yet my 11 year old then found the key & opened the door ,
I gave notice to my landlady & arranged for a carpet fitter & removal guy
& was let down so now when there doing there tic tok dances at Xmas I’ll be home less with a kid & pets

Really unhappy with their service. We had a viewing booked for Saturday which they cancelled. The only viewing time they had which fitted in with our working hours was Monday at 17:45 and at lunchtime we had a call to cancel again because they had had one offer which had been accepted. Really feels as though you'll only get a chance at finding somewhere to live if you don't work or can take time off work to go to viewings and fit in with them... Really not professional at all.
EDIT: After being gas lit by this business in their response, we had another viewing cancelled last minute and upon asking them about what's going on, they admitted that they did have records of our original booking being cancelled, despite what the below response states. They claimed that they do not work on a first come first serve basis but this is evidently not true. We have been dealing with a lot of agencies while trying to move to Portsmouth and this is by far the worst one we've experienced. I can admit that the customer is not always right, but on this occasion I am.

From start to finish Jeffries provided a 1st class service in what at times was very stressful for myself in trying to find the right house with very few properties on the market .
The patience , understanding and kindness they showed too me was excellent. Adam and the team aren’t like any estate agents they take time to get too know you and there is no pressure from them . Special thanks must go too Harry , who dealt with the sell of my house from start to finish .

I recently sold and bought a house through Jeffries Northend office and was very impressed with the professional manner in which Harry conducted himself. The process was quite complicated due to the long chain however Harry was so accommodating and patient and went out of his way on several occasions and kept us up to date with every stage. We highly recommend Jeffries estate agents!

Had the pleasure of selling and buying with Jeffries in Waterlooville and after a very stressful 2.5 years (nothing to do with them) having a very difficult buyer’s solicitors the guys at the Waterlooville branch literally couldn’t have done enough to help and keep us going.
From the moment we put our place on the market to the day we sold they kept us in the loop and did everything they could have possibly done to keep us going, even with one buyer pulling out.
They will always be my first choice of agents although I will not be moving again in a hurry!!

Our move to completion became a very long and drawn out affair but they all kept on working hard for us with an extremely high level of professionalism and consideration. I would recommend them wholeheartedly as a team and as individuals. Don’t doubt it, these guys are excellent.

Truly the worst experience with an estate agent as a purchaser that we have ever had in over 25 years of buying and selling across the UK.
After nearly 4 months in a chain with them in a simple purchase it fell through due to their lack of communication, non existent customer service and at times if you challenged their point of view, they became bullying in their approach to drive their point home and simply rude over the phone, almost bored that they are inconvenienced with having to deal with you at all.
A struggle to even view a property, always with the feeling that you are not quite on the 'hot list'; especially if you were not using their mortgage products/services on which they clearly get commissions again, so they favour buyers where they have full control of the mortgage product and the sale to maximise their commissions across the board.
Whilst this may be common practice whether it is ethical and fair to all is another question.
It seems that they were actively encouraging gazumping on our sale and chain and eventually persuaded their vendor to put the house back on the market; whilst we were awaiting our mortgage offer so they could potentially increase their commission in a rising market.
If there was a zero stars on this review they would get it.
Avoid at all costs unless like us you want to waste time and effort and nearly £1k for the privilege of simply wishing to buy your forever home through an agent like we did.
I would like to think that they would have apologized or attempted to help us to secure another property as eventually we had our mortgage offer, but as poor as they are, they didn't even attempt to help us find another property after our first sale fell through; although they knew we were committed to finding something asap.
Good luck to any vendor or purchaser. Buyer beware as the saying goes!

All they care about is making there commission they even lie about parts of the property and when you have a surveyor in and it highlights the issue they say that the surveyor must be wrong and then keep pushing you to complete a sale I would recommend you avoid this branch

We rented through Jeffries for 7 years.
After initially viewing the property and having issues with unopening windows the Jeffries agent kindly advised the property owner to update all windows in which he did before we moved in and we were very appreciative of this.
Throughout our tennancy we didn't have much to do with Jeffries as our landlord preffered us to to phone him directly with issues.
The annual renewal was the only real downside of using Jeffries as they were a bit heavy on the regular phonecalls and emails.
When it came to ending our tennancy I have to say that Jeffries 100% backed us up and really helped us to get our full deposit back which we didn't expect to get.
We actually went on to buy through Jeffries afterwards as a company in my experience the are pretty good.

Rented a house from them (that's currently up for sale in Paulsgrove (just been sold) and have had nothing but problems for the past 7 months.
RAT AND MICE INFESTATION IN THE ENTIRE HOUSE - WALLS, LIVING AREAS AND LOFT!!!
Jeffries then continued to tell me that they were chasing the landlord for updates these never materialised - we paid for pest control on 3 occasions with pest control reporting that the issues were structural and no fault of ours
I have 2 young Children and a wife that were living in the property and we would wake up in mornings to find mice and rat droppings in there bedrooms.
This went on from March to November it was the final straw for us when rats were seen running acroas the floor.
At this point i witheld rent due to the circumstances, that being the propertty wasnt habitable and fear of one of us being bitten by rats.
All the while chasing environmental services and getting nowhere quick.- the apparent landlord that wasn't available for 3 months become available and the house was sold 1 week after we move out.
I would love to know who the unlucky purchaser is and advise them of the issues within the property.
We have asked on countless occasions that we have the landlords phone number to call but being told that they aren't authorised to provide details as its let thru them.
The latest communication for Jeffries is that are losing our deposit due to the final months rent not being paid (as it was inhabitable) everything has to be put in writing and that they are short staffed due to covid and they will respond in 21 days.
We have lost thousands of pounds of belongings due to the issue where they have been chewed, or destroyed by the infestation.
IF YOUR SMART AND WANT TO RENT OF A RELIABLE AND HONEST ORGANISATION DONT USE JEFFRIES!

Our house sale was not straightforward but Jeffries were excellent from beginning to end. They gave a competitive valuation and provided a steady stream of qualified potential buyers. They adapted well to the restrictions of Covid, managed viewings without us being present and ensured that the sale finally went through. The fact that they work as a team meant there was always someone to discuss issues with and they were thoroughly professional throughout. I hope I don't move again for a loooong time, but would definitely want Jeffries to manage the sale again.

It was the first time I put my house on the market. I had told the agent, I’m not desperate for a sale and unless I get a set price, I will take it off the market. Jeffries handled the sale of my house terribly. A lot of viewers, but no genuine buyers, who could afford it. Some of the offers were over 30 k below asking price. I felt pressured by the agent to accept it, even though it had only been in the market for a few days.
Agent kept saying someone’s name, who doesn’t live at the property anymore, or had ANY legal rights to it, and asking why I didn’t let him make this alteration to the house or the other!!!!
How they knew it, I have no idea, but it was very very creepy! Needless to say, I took my property off the market immediately.
I do not intend to work with Jaffries ever in the future because it didn’t feel, they were working for me, even though I was the one who chose to give them my custom.
As it stands, I’m glad I didn’t sell and not planning on it at all.

shocking service. allowed us to move into a flat with a mouse infestation (as evidenced by traps already present under cupboards, which themselves were filthy underneath, not messy, filth). also took an obscene amount of the deposit for normal wear and tear. poor customer service too, they seem to imagine you are always in and ready to answer phone etc.
really wouldn't bother if I were you. agents generally suck, but this one is particularly bad. look elsewhere.

These people are nothing more then professional con artist. They let us see a flat at short notice which was good, one of the agents explained that all was needed was a months rent in advance and a security deposit nothing more. Later when my wife tried contacting them but they ignored her emails or would hang up the phone straight away. Later they told her about proof of savings with added conditions about our savings. I told them I couldn’t get the exact proof they wanted which they said I could get a guarantor if they was earning 3 times the month rent with no bad credit once I told them this was not possible because family have bad credit and my friends don’t earn as much as me they said it fine as long as I can provide 6 months rent on top of what they was already asking. I asked for the holding deposit money back but I doubt I get it. All of this could’ve been avoided if they was open with me, clear about their terms and conditions and just had the basic manners of replying and staying on the phone to my wife.
Would never trust them.

Wish I had seen the reviews before buying the house. I have had really bad experience with this estate agent. They are not very good at replying to emails or unavailable when I try to give them a call back. I have given up. I just want the process to end(at this point I am thinking of pulling out). Only two people that seems like they know what they are doing are Jack and Michael who are very good. I will review again if I see any improvement.

*ZERO STAR RATING*As there is no option for 0 stars I will put 1 and retract it as this Letting agents don’t deserve one !! Viewed a property, liked it and after handing over £450 to secure it we went through the vetting procedure which was not a pleasant experience partly because I am self employed and had to jump through burning hoops and also having them phone once or twice a day for a week asking different questions about our money and having to have certain things in certain accounts and in certain names, it became ridiculous, I have given my notice in for the house I’m already in which has now been let to someone so we have to be out in April !! And this morning my wife gets a phone call saying the property has now been rented to a family member, so now we have been left in the s*#t with no house for Me my wife and our 2 year old to move into !! We have 2 small Dogs which makes it harder to find somewhere !! Typical vulture letting agents * AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS*
Our only saving grace is our money was refunded but doesn’t help the fact we now have a to find a suitable property yesterday !!!!

Horrible agency. We booked a viewing with them and 2h before they called to say that we need a decision in principle (and of course offered to get us one if we wanted to go on with the viewing). We assured them we'll have it within the hour, called our advisor, and when we called back 5 minutes later they had magically given our slots to someone else. So lame.

We're currently selling our house with Jeffries. They were much less forceful than other high street estate agents, lower commission and no upfront/marketing/listing (hidden) fees. So far they've been good with communicating when viewings are occurring and we hope to have our house sold very soon!
We viewed a number of houses advertised by Jeffries, and found the agents showing us around the properties to be on-time for the viewings and knowledgeable about the properties and situation of the sellers.
The above cannot be said other estate agents that we've had the "pleasure" of dealing with recently ....
I cannot comment on the letting side.

Just another thieving vulture lettings agent out to steal as much as they can. Tried to charge me and my wife hundreds of pounds for pre-existing damages. Eventually they tripped up and let on they knew they were lying and had to give up on charging us. Only use these snakes if homelessness is your only alternative. That being said, with summer on the way, even then, it's worth thinking over first.

Customer service is diabolical!
I was trying to buy a house, they regularly cancelled viewings When I was outside the property, insisted I used quotes from their builders which took two weeks, and when I called to chase the person dealing was never available (at times I even heard them say, tell them I'm out the office).
When I got a quote for work needed in the property (to factor into the purchase price) they claimed a builder went out, but when I called him he hadn't, and the figure they made up was 2000 less than what the work cost!
I'm just thankful as a buyer I didn't have to pay them, I just felt sorry for the seller as they made buying the house a very long process!
Stay away! They are all extremely rude and made the house buying process very stressful!

DO NOT USE JEFFRIES....
I have unfortunately had 2 bad experiences with Jeffries now, so am quite confident they are just purely money hungry liars with no conscience.
Experience 1: Fresh out of University, arranging my first let with 2 friends, we were shown a house that was quirky, large and close to the centre of town. It seemed there was a bit of work to be done inside as it was a bit drab, but Jeffries sincerely promised us this would all be taken care of prior to us moving in.... well that was a massive lie. There were plants growing THROUGH the back door, dirt and mould everywhere and it was just generally filthy. My Dad was absolutely furious on move in day, so accompanied me to Jeffries to speak to them, the lady we spoke to was nothing short of a nasty cow. She was rude, clearly didn't care and tried to say we were lying about the state of the property because my Dads camera he'd used to take pictures did not have date stamps.... even though we'd only received the keys that day. I stayed in that house for 10 months and there were no end of problems, they never repaired anything, didn't care about us and were just appalling human beings at every chance we had to speak to them.
Fast forward 6 years to now....
Experience 2: My partner and I found a lovely 2 bedroom flat which was owned by a family friend of his. From the get go, the family friend had said she was happy for us to take the property as the new tenants but was waiting to exchange as it was a buy-to-let. Jeffries, sniffing that they may lose some commission, ignored my partners request to cancel viewings and deliberately let the property to someone else, behind all of our backs. Knowing full well that the landlord wanted us to move in. This was a particular lady in Jeffries North End office that's behaved in this manner. I believe her name is Kate although I will correct if I am wrong. She was ruffling everyones feathers and stressing the poor land lady out by telling her lies, all just to get some commission. She should be ashamed of herself. I am absolutely appalled that she would use these tactics to manipulate and scheme against innocent people all to make herself look good. If I could get her sacked I would, but I know that if I were to tell Jeffries this directly I would likely get laughed out of the room as they don't really care. They are all as bad as each other.
Short message of review: Don't use Jeffries they will lie to you and they only care about themselves. They are inhuman.
