This is the worst estate agents I have been with in Leeds. I really would avoid if possible. Not really responsive when it came to maintenance issues. E.g. leak coming from the bathroom and making the room below damp. The maintenance man just painted over the stains and didn't look at the bathroom. The stain came back a few months later. The team will message you at midnight and are really hard to get a hold of. Rude staff too ????... Read more

Do not deal with these people!! Wanted to buy a house advertised by them. They tried to make us pay a 2 grand 'holding deposit' (with no contract or terms) just sent me their bank details and a vague promise we'd get it back after completion. This is in contravention of property ombudsmen. Tons of red flags before that; emailing me at all times of day and night, refusing to deal with us by phone, only giving anyones name after offer accepted (prior to that all emails simply signed 'City Homes'. When refused to pay the 2 grand (on advice of solicitor) all contact stopped. Huge waste of our time and extremely disappointing. I wonder how many 2 grand 'deposits' they've managed to extract from people... Read more

I would avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. Myself 2 flat mates have been tested positive with coronavirus and are due to move out on Tuesday 30th June. Obviously we have now been tested positive and have to self isolate therefore it is not possible for us to move out on the mentioned date. We have advised City Home we are unable to move out under the current guidelines. And they “advised” us to find alternative accommodation? ???? isn’t that defeating the purpose of self isolating??? Two years we’ve had to deal with this horrific company, this is just the icing on the cake. We have left previous reviews about the horrific experiences we’ve had and we’ve been begged by the manager Oli to take them down, with false promises made that things will improve. The way this company speak to you as a tenant, is completely unprofessional. We have video recordings of them screaming down the phone to us and telling us we’re wrong and that they know better. They bully us over the phone, actually made a flat make cry multiple times. It’s just emotional abuse. Oh also to point out, we told them multiple times we are not ok with people coming in to view the flat. Yet he advised we HAD to let them do it. So people came to view the flat and 2 weeks later we got tested positive with coronavirus. Even after we’ve been tested positive they are trying to tell us to leave and move new people in??? PLEASE AVOID FOR UR OWN PIECE OF MIND.... Read more

I put an offer to buy a flat and there is no direct number for sales team. After 3 days they told me the property was sold to someone else and they never kept me in loop to increase the bid! Extremely unhelpful and poor agent if you are selling. Poor poor poor After I left this review contacted me to blackmail me to take my review off. City Home undertook a full rental appraisal of my property due to their knowledge of the Leeds City Centre rental market. I was informed my property should be on the market achieving a full 20%+ in comparison to my previous rental income. I was very shocked that a rent increase of that size could be achieved. My property was on the market for a couple of hours with City Home when the agent called me saying he had secured a 12 month tenancy to move in the same day at a 22% yield increase from my previous rental figure. Safe to say I am extremely impressed with what they have done in such a short space of time. As a result I will now be listing our 40+ property portfolio with City Home every time one of my properties comes available. I highly recommend any landlords out there wanting to achieve fewer rental voids, higher rental yields and expert advice to give this company a chance to market your property!... Read more

The ongoing customer service was impeccable and I can genuinely say they made my living experience that much more enjoyable. So much so...when I needed to rent my property, City Home was my chosen agent. Got on well with the team at city homes at the start of the tenancy. However there was much confusion about whether it was best contacting the landlord or the estate agents when problems arose, and the landlord became very irate if we chose to contact the estate agents first. The house we had was a bit of a mess and the landlord was utterly useless - replacing broken appliances with even more faulty appliances, taking weeks to come and see problems with the house (and then trying to charge us for things that clearly had happened before we moved in). At the end of the tenancy the estate agents tried to milk us for all they could even though we adhered to everything they stated had to be done before we moved out. AVOID.... Read more

The team at City Home were excellent. From the selection of properties presented to us based on our needs to the signing of the tenancy agreement. The entire process was smooth and everything was explained up front. Like how our deposits would be securely held by third party and a breakdown of costs, ensuring there were no surprises. The viewings were informative and more importantly honest - with the agent highlighting both positives and negatives of properties helping us find the right place. My experience with City Home has been nothing short of brilliant since my first encounter with them. Initially I was renting a property through them. They managed to find a property for me within a very short space of time whilst sticking to my budget. They are always on the other end of the phone if there are any questions from me or if there is anything I require. Everything has always been dealt with and handled very professionally and efficiently. As a result of this, I turned to them for their advice before buying my first property. As a first time buyer, I was unsure as to what exactly was involved and the thought of buying a house for the first time was very daunting. City Home helped me by giving me advice and breaking things down for me so I could easily understand. As a result I now have a property which City Home are managing and I have nothing but praise for the way they are handling and looking after everything. City Home are definitely at the forefront of property management. Head and shoulders above the rest of their competition that I have encountered.
