Our initial appointment did run about 5 minutes behind schedule, which was a little frustrating as I had to get back to work. However, the director, Gregg, was so apologetic and then spent a full hour with us, never once making us feel rushed. He completely made up for the wait with his thoroughness and attention to detail. A minor hiccup handled with real class.

Clarkson Holden were asked by the conveyancing solicitor for their invoice. They chose not to send one but when the sale went through not sold by them.. they issued me with an account marked overdue on the day of issue. I could not pay as I was away at the time. I would not ring as normally you cannot get them and the last two call had been nothing but abuse from Clarkson Holden and I did not want that again. If they had given the conveyancing solicitor their invoice it would have been paid but they wanted to play games. Now we are in court a summons which they issued almost immediately upon sending the invoice.No time to pay Do you not get time to pay these days are they so desperate for money ? Do not use these people they are toxic

We had a very disappointing experience with Clarkson Holden. We were kept completely in the dark during the process and were led to believe that things were progressing positively, only to find out later that the property had been offered to someone else without any clear communication.
It’s extremely frustrating and disheartening, as we were serious buyers who acted quickly and in good faith. Unfortunately, this experience has left us feeling that the team at Clarkson cannot be trusted to deal with clients transparently or fairly.
Would not recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and professional estate agent.

I have had an extremely upsetting and bad experience with this company. Greg in particular was really rude and obnoxious. I was and am interested in renting a property out for myself and my teenage son. I have been renting for the past 5 years. The house I live in is immaculate. I have no pets and do not smoke either. I have never ever been late with my rent. I was hoping to stay in my rental until my son finishes his education. He has 4 years left. I told Greg that I too have been a land lady for the past 30 years and that I work full time. I moved home to live where I live currently purely so that my son could go to the school I wanted for him.
After viewing this property today, I called the office and advised them that I would be interested and asked what would I need to move further forward etc. I sent in my ID, my income details too but when I spoke to Greg and asked him a question that I was slightly unsure about, he abruptly told me that he felt ‘very suspicous about me!!!’ How dare he!! When I asked why he told me that he had met ‘many people like me’ and told me he thought I was looking at this property to rent it out as an Air B n B!!! Well for clarity Greg I have never had any air bnbs! Therefore on that basis he would not be proceeding with sending my details over to the home owners. I was humiliated and disgusted at his assumptions! I offered for him to get references from my current land lord but Greg had already made his mind up. I am a single parent bringing up my 14 year old son. A hard working mother that works full time and has a portfolio of properties and because I am a ‘single parent’ he has just crossed me off the list, even though my salary would be that of a couple that would be renting the house. Some of these people that work in estate agents need to stop being such jobs worths.

Well really shown his colours. Asked by conveyancing solicitor for his bill did not respond so was not paid. I recieved an email demanding money as overdue on the first day I knew about it. This man is a bully. I was away from home and could not pay until I came back. Before that could happen I got a court summons for the money less than 2 weeks after the bill arrived which he would have been paid for if he had answered the solicitor when she asked for it. I will not ring him to have him scream and shout at me on the phone. What a nasty spiteful little man he turned out to be when he did not get his own way. Not a nice way to treat a lady in her 70's and disabled

Worked for this company six weeks, had to hand my immediate notice in and was told he was suing me for breach of contract.. I had to chase both of my wages up, I have text evidence of everything I will state here. Was told he will pay me when he was ready and not to pester as it will delay payment further.. Asked a day off for a funeral and was told no because I’d already had half a day sick and that “didn’t look good.” Came in early, worked late, had no dinner and still weren’t enough. Verbally abusive culture. Master manipulator. Avoid at all costs. Contractors aren’t paid on time or sometimes at all. Will ring you after a week telling you to reduce your home. Avoid like Covid. Rest of the reviews look fake

What an awful man Greg Holden turned out to be. Had him shouting at me on the phone today. I rang the office about 2 weeks ago needing to speak to him urgently I was told he would ring me back that day asap. Here I am still no call from him and now he is having a complete hissy fit over something he should have dealt with shouting down the phone at me. And he will not speak to me again until I pay my bill I have had it 2 days at this time it is not a priority despite what he thinks some other issues are more important than him. Why did you not give it to the solicitor she asked you for it. You would have been paid by now just sheer pig headidness from you trying to make a point by giving it to me. Such a spiteful man. Do not use Clarkson Holden the niceties are all a sham to lure you in.

Absolute terrible! Gave an appointment to view a house and did not attend! Susan who was very rude said it was human error well they shouldn’t really be in the business where they can’t simply manage an appointment! No email or text to confirm the appointment like they said! She then lied and said it was at 11am but didn’t have a phone call to say where are you! No wonder their houses don’t sell because they can’t be bothered doing viewings! Too many human errors more like time wasters!

We have just sold our property with Clarkson and Holden and couldn’t fault their service. They have a friendly approach and are very knowledgeable. Before choosing them, we spoke to a few other estate agents, but Clarkson and Holden suggested a much higher valuation than the others, who felt we wouldn’t achieve that price. However, our property had multiple viewings and sold within the first week at the higher value, proving their strong knowledge of the current market and effective marketing approach. The staff were always professional and approachable. Jane, in particular, was regularly in contact and excellent at chasing updates to ensure the best outcome for us as customers.

On my initial appointment I was told their commission was 1%, but when I read the pack they gave me it said 1.2%. I thought I would be dealing with Marc, he hadn’t said that I wouldn’t see him again and that Dominic was going to be my contact agent. I had a viewing on Friday and unfortunately the agent was stuck in traffic but at 3pm I hadn’t heard anything and the couple were outside waiting so I invited them in and started showing them round. The wife received s call saying that he was going to be late, I then received a call asking if I was ok showing them round and he would call them after the viewing. I didn’t hear anything on the Saturday so I called the office to be told by the receptionist that she would pass my message on and the office closed at 3pm. I really hope I am contacted tomorrow (Monday) for an update, otherwise I will be very disappointed .

Jane deserves a top 5/5 rating as she was excellent for both myself and the buyer. Very understanding, thorough and always available even though she works part-time.
However Gregg (the director) was the complete opposite. You could ask him any question and 5 minutes later he would still be talking and you don't have an answer. You got sound bites not answers and this was extremely frustrating.
I think hard when giving negative feedback as it can sometimes be 'emotional, not factual'. Not in this case I'm afraid.

The system they use is very thorough and professional and the staff I worked alongside were always proactive and the process was a very positive experience.
Would definitely recommend this independent if you want a more personal approach to buying or selling a property in the area

This is hands down the most reactive estate agent I have had the pleasure of working with. Always contactable, advice given where needed, but most of all competitive rates. Smooth process from start to completion with my house sale.
Greg the owner (who is extremely hand on) will be my go to agent with all my house sales going forward as this is a new business for myself and he helped me every step.
Great work all round!

Couldn’t have asked for a better service after having a nightmare experience with another estate agent. This went from advice before the house went on the market to ensuring that the first people who saw the property made an offer that we accepted. After wanting to relocate further North (but not too far from Manchester) I looked into property in the area. I found that working together with Gregg was effortless as his knowledge of the current market is impressive. He listened to my requirements, showed me options that were realistic and offered to negotiate on my behalf. If you are looking for straight to the point information as well as flexible viewing hours (I work into the evening) then I highly recommend.
