Where do I begin...Before we signed any document or agreement, Mark met with us and we discussed, at length, our feelings and expectations about selling the house, and where he felt the market was. He was upfront, informed and honest from start to finish. His suggestions were always spot-on and always backed up with solid reasons.
Once we had decided collaboratively on all the details, Mark thoughtfully planned a soft launch, putting our house 'out there' for his clients who were looking to buy. He organised the open house on a weekend when families would be in town (no easy feat around the end of term and easter holidays!) and much to our delight, he had a lot of interest before the house was officially listed. Because of his strategic thinking and careful planning, the open house was not needed: the first people who viewed the house made an offer that day.
Mark's unique knowledge, understanding and feel for Guildford Town Centre is unmatched by any other estate agent. Mark offers a bespoke service from start to finish; he was attentive, responsive and incredibly organised throughout the entire process. There was no drama, no stress (unbelievably) and the entire experience was very straightforward.

Mark was recommended by a friend who had recently sold their house through him, quickly and at well above the asking price. Having previously (and unsuccessfully) put our house on the market with chain estate agents, Mark was an absolute breath of fresh air. He provides absolutely solid advice and guidance whenever you need it- making you feel as if he's selling it with you, rather than for you. He works with you on the marketing, the process, the viewings, the survey, solicitors. Mark understands that the selling process also needs to work for you (i.e. children, dogs etc. having had to previously bend our lives to accommodate viewings).
Mark guided us through what is the toughest market we have ever sold a property in. Having secured an excellent sale that unfortunately derailed because of fiscal events, he quickly found another purchaser and we completed effortlessly and quickly at the end of February. Mark doesn't only work with the sellers, but with the purchasers - showing empathy, understanding and expertise across the whole chain. I cannot recommend him highly enough - and do so regularly!

We were so impressed and surprised by Mark’s assistance throughout the buying process. Mark Collins went above and beyond in selling my uncles flat in Guildford which was left to me in probate. As I don’t live in the area i needed someone I could rely on to sell it for me. It took a very long time to sell what with Covid lockdowns and also being a sheltered living scheme but we got there in the end. Mark was always on the other end of the phone when I needed to talk to him, always had the time and more than anything I could trust him. (Which I think is the most important thing)

Moving house has been very hard because I am getting on in years. I did not really want to move to a flat from my lovely home where I had been living for nearly 30 years. Collins isn’t what I would call your average estate agent. I swapped to Collins Independent Estate Agent after a disappointing three months with another well-known high street estate agent. From the moment I first met Mark, right through to completion, it’s been more like having a partner by my side than someone doing yet another house sale.
Mark set out very clearly what he could do for me, and what would be involved start to finish. He clearly was very experienced and filled me with a lot of confidence right from the start. We picked out the best day for taking pictures of the house and all his suppliers were magnificent. They took the greatest care in what they did. The photographer did an phenomenal job and the brochure was very classy, clean and just overall fantastic. I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked compared to some of the high street chains which are considered most upmarket. In fact, the house I bought was from such an agent and my brochure from Collins was miles ahead of it. I’ve kept it as a souvenir of my previous house.
I also found Mark Collins to be an exceptional sales person; by which I mean he’s not pushy, or complacent, on the contrary he spent a lot of time with each person or family visiting, going above and beyond to fit into their and my schedule and took his time talking about the house, and the surrounding area, being impressively knowledgable and experienced. He is simply a very trustworthy person and people sense this. Again, I cannot express the difference with other estate agents (I saw loads looking at houses); he wanted to be there and he wanted to help sell it. He also invested in technology so I got an update straight away via email about how the viewing went, which was really appreciated.
He managed to get me 3 offers straight away where others couldn’t, and I sold my house for the asking price - in this current climate I was thoroughly impressed! He then helped me through every bump on the buying process with a lot of calm and good humour, regularly checking in with me and checking if I needed anything, even offering to negotiate on my behalf for my buying a property! Really went beyond what I was was expecting. When we hit a bit of a snag he helped think of solutions and suggestions and worked these through with my buyer’s conveyancer, when I asked if he could. He even checked before completion if I needed any builder or decorators and that he could suggest someone.
I just noticed I wrote “we hit a snag” above and that’s the essence of it all. Collins Independent Estate Agents really understands that when you sell a house, above all, it’s about people, and it’s not just some bricks but your home and your life you are moving. I really felt they were in it with me, and we partnered up to make it happen. I’m not being paid in any way to write all this, and my sale has gone through so I don’t have any pressure to either, but I will genuinely always be grateful for their help and support through an emotional sale. I couldn’t recommend them enough - I would say try it out, it’s way beyond what you would expect or have experienced before in the estate agent field!
