An abysmal service from Brandon Bordoley and his team. What should have been a straight-forward purchase of a chain-free new-build In Aug 18 turned into a complete nightmare resulting in at least 5 months of wasted time and money costing us our reservation deposit plus £X,XXX due to their incompetence of vetting their vendor, "trainee" solicitor and lack of communication on all fronts. Would never (albeit a strong word) recommend Connells. Save your self the stress and money.

Brandon, Adam and George have all been absolutely fantastic! We originally listed our property with another agent in Bushey and had a complete nightmare with them, the best thing we ever did was move to Connells! Right from the initial sign up period through to our sale completion they have been professional, friendly and on the ball with everything. Our agent Pawan Aggarwal went above and beyond to help us find the right home for us. He was always just a phone call away if we had any questions. As first time buyers we didn’t know much about the whole process but Pawan took the time to answer and explain every question we had. Terrible!

I was waiting for a response about a deposit dispute on a deposit I put down for a house share.

I rang my local office three times (Great Shelford.) They took my details twice and I heard nothing back. The third time I was angry.

Additionally, myself AND my previous landlord copied in the lettings@sharmanquinney email address into several contacts.

I finally snapped after a month and a half of waiting and called my local office again who gave me the direct contact of someone who got back to me in 10 minutes! What a miracle!

They delivered some disappointing news regarding their lack of involvement in disputes.
Forgetting that, they were contacted so many times that I literally cannot count.....

During this period, I had left the rented property,
moved house at the very beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic in early April,
I had to buy new furniture such as a bed for my new home.
I had been and still am furloughed from work so am not on full salary.
I watched all of my bills from moving be debited from my bank account whilst I patiently waited for someone from Sharman Quinney to contact me........

Bottom line, they were very good at TAKING my deposit but have been ABSOLUTELY, UNACCEPTABLY AWFUL at helping me to get it back.

Sharman Quinney earn interest on any deposits they hold.
I had to PAY interest to my bank whilst being in my debit overdraft.

This experience has been awful and I would urge anyone to avoid them. I didn't even get an apology for the wait, or the ignored emails, or for the fact that my phone calls didn't get me anywhere until I was pulling my hair out with frustration.

They will never see a penny from me once my deposit is returned and I am very unhappy that I went through this during the pandemic. I'm still in my overdraft as I write this.

We could have resolved this in less than a fortnight if you had responded to the emails we copied you into using the lettings@ email address on the 10th of April. Today is the 25th of May and the dispute has finally been settled. Now we wait for Sharman Quinney to accept the agreed final value, return the deposits and I can finally forget about this total nightmare!
