Came on 10th of month to do appraisal, photos done etc 16th, then it was downhill.
22nd and I was still chasing the photos etc...so many excuses for this.
I wanted to get my property onto market, ASAP.....but these agents didn't seem to have any rush too. If this was the apathy before marketing, to actually go live, was not encouraging...it seemed I paid the fee, and was expected to do all the all of their job.!!....

Unfortunately my review of Connells has changed since my initial interaction with them. At the start they were very helpful. However, we have had an on going Toilet and Shower problem, and Connells just haven't been able to finalize the repair. We're going on 2 months with a toilet problem and 1 month with a Shower problem, and still no sign of a fix to the problem. All this is made worse by the fact that the bathroom facilities are shared by 5 family members. I'm pretty sure Connells will come through (that is not in doubt), however the time taken to get problems resolved is just poor at this stage

Been looking for ages for a lovely house like that one which came on market Friday evening... I called agency Saturday morning (just when they opened) and was surprised when agent said there was 5 people already booked and viewing the property as we spoke??
Mitch the agent took all my details and booked me mid of the day for viewing. I was about to leave when Mitch phoned and cancelled my viewing explaining that he thinks the house needs major repairs and is not in state for renting out !!!! He promised he will get in touch when things will get sorted.
I waited over the weekend and when I checked my emails Monday evening I found out the house was LET AGREED??!!!!!
I asked myself how? And when ?
I tried to call Mitch several times to get some informations , no luck ....
I'm very disappointed with the service I got , I dont like to be lied to , noone likes.
Mitch is definitely the last person I would like to deal with in a future!!! This person brings bad reputation to all the Connells Estates! Shame on you ????

Unless of course you enjoy dealing with unprofessional sales staff...
My horrendous experience started badly when the previous branch manger came out to value my property and felt it was more appropriate to talk to me about his personal life and how he’s having an affair with one of the girls from the St Albans branch. Nor was I interested or did I care... I just wanted him to sell my property.
First week on the market after making it quite clear I wanted no one in my house wearing shoes... to my amazement muddy foot prints all up the stairs and in the bedrooms. I had to pay for professional carpet cleaning.
They also used my bathroom on this same visit, I think this in itself is disgusting but they couldn’t even be bothered to clean up after themselves. I returned home from work at 9pm that evening to clean feces from the pan and urine from the toilet seat and floor. If this wasn’t insulting enough the toilet seat also remained up.
My house is always immaculate especially on days where there are viewings scheduled, I cleaned the bathroom especially that morning.
I was furious and demanded a cancellation of contract and key returned. I threatened with making a complaint to head office but was bribed with a very reduced fee of £1500inc vat. I only considered staying as the branch manager left and they brought in a new girl who seemed very nice and on the ball.
I gave her 4 weeks to sell the house before changing agents. She infact sold my property in the first 3 weeks, happy days! But unfortunately it fell through the day before exchange so subsequently back on the market.
My disappointment was not with her, she was professional and looked after my house as I’d asked her to but unfortunately has not been well so is working reduced hours which means her manager has had to take some viewings.
He left all the lights on upstairs for 48 hours last week, I did not return home that evening as I didn’t think he would dare not leave the house as he found it!!!
The last straw for me....
I contacted him in regards to feedback from 3 viewings that had taken place 3 days previous... (yes you have to call for offers and feedback) they never keep you updated.
He then informed me of an offer of £20k under asking price. He told me this was a cash buyer (but not ready to proceed for 5 months) and a very good offer and that I should seriously consider accepting.
I found this extremely insulting. I was being asked to take my property off the market for £20k under asking price and to wait 5 months to even exchange and that’s if this ‘cash buyer’ didn’t pull out in the meantime.
Lots of other niggly bits I wasn’t half impressed with but these are the main disappointments to me.
If I could rate lower I would...

Bad experience with letting: no communication, recently invited to the court as the agency did not let me know about 2 weeks period with no tenants so no council tax paid. Since August trying to get the letting being taking over by thelettingagency but Connells agents completely passive. Not responding to my emails or to the emails from another agency. Feeling powerless, formal complaint done last month but no answer. I would never recommend Connells for letting. To be fair I bought 2 properties with mortgage in Stevenage branch two years ago and the service was amazing.

Big shame Connells, because off you're unprofessional staff a family all most going to live in the street... you'll see very soon what to do business like that means. ????I was going to rent an house with this terrible Estate agents anyway everything was nice until the day when I've paid them all the money 4400£. That was within a day before moving in the house. They give me a key for the front door to put my stuff inside within a day before my contract start. all was done on the 27.09.2017 on the 28.09.2017 the day when I've been there with my family to move in door lock was changed I call them to complain about the issue and guess what they've sayd the landlord change his mind and don't want to rent us the house anymore.I was really shook I was thinking stuff like that happens just in movie's. Anyway if the landlord where we've live before wasn't good enough to live staying in the house until finding something else we was going to live in the street... Now I have to bring them out to court because they don't want to refund the money anymore. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!!

All the staff at Connells are very friendly and helpful. When we went there with our three-year-old boy, they gave him a balloon and made him very happy.
Especially, Hazel and her letting team helped us to rent out our property quickly. As we were the first-time landlord, Hazel has been very patient and responsive to all our questions over telephone and emails. She offered us a very early evaluation, which kicked off the renting process two weeks earlier than we planned. She also organised a four-hour open viewing session on a very hot Saturday and managed to show 12 families around the property. We always feel Hazel and her team try their best to help us on everything they can. We really appreciate their help and highly recommend the Connells letting team!

My family have relocated into Welwyn Garden City and the Connells team supported my family through the whole buying process. We used their financial advisor to successfully get a mortgage, which we thought would not be possible. Other services we used were solicitors, surveyors, will writing and life insurance. They all makes it easier for us as we would not know where to go to find a reputable company. I myself like to ask loads of questions and they were all happy to explain things. The services offered meant that we could make a secure offer on the house and then later on move in within a few months. Thanks ????

Connells WGC was recommended by a friend after we had a disappointing response from a previous choice of agent. From the first moment we contacted the branch, we were impressed. Jack, James, Sophie and Camilla were beyond helpful and courteous. I was selling the house on behalf of my elderly mother and all members of staff I dealt with were sympathetic from start to finish.
Jack set some initial expectations and hit every milestone. I've been involved in estate agency since 2000 and this is probably the best service I've experienced.
