Her communication was always clear and prompt throughout the process. She offered invaluable advice and support throughout the application and offer negotiations, serving as a middle negotiator with the landlord on a couple of specific requirements, and really making us feel like she was on our team. Gaelle took on the sale and quickly found the right match. She worked diligently to move to 'sale agreed' in a respecful and honest way that both buyer and I were happy with.

We had difficulty with our property because we have been caught up with cladding issues and various other problems with the building that required work so it was not an easy sell. Throughout the time we had the property on the market, the team - Dillen, George and Gaelle - were always on the other end of the phone with great advice and made an effort to keep up-to-date with the market so we understood what the regulations were and how this would impact the value of our property. Once we had an offer accepted, George and Simone were incredible at helping us push this through. Dealt with Joe at David Astburys when looking for rental property. He was highly professional, communicative and reliable. Always quick to respond and eager to help. Unfortunately i think everyone in the UK rental system, including agents, tenants and even owners suffer from a poorly regulated system that gives landlords too much power. In order to apply for tenancy one must meet a high level of personal appraisal, submit personal information and referees, and even a substantial deposit, before making an offer which can be reviewed by the landlord for an indeterminate period of time. When in this state of submission the landlord can entertain a bidding war or even just wait as long as they like for a better offer, irrespective of whether the advertised rate and terms are met by the original offer. This leaves the applicant and agent unable to explore other rental options as to withdraw the offer at any time risks loss of the deposit. This all for the privileged few who can afford to apply. It feels like the end game of a broken society. Other than that, highly recommended, 5 stars

Renting in London as a student or young professional is stressful, time-consuming and scary no matter which way you slice it. But Leigh from David Astburys (Islington N1 office) is about as close as you get to to peace-of-mind throughout the process.
We called for a same-day viewing for a flat in Camden and got in just a few hours later that day (with a time made to suit my schedule!). Leigh was helpful as anything, willing to answer any and all questions about the property, neighborhood and process. About 24 hours - and 1,000 of my questions - later, we've got our deposits through, tenancy guides signed and can finally take a deep breath.
Could not recommend this office (specifically Leigh!) enough for the attentiveness and professionalism they've shown in what is almost strictly a nightmare market!

Had a great experience doing work experience over at DA. Property management with Safa and Marielle taught me a lot and took on a lot of tasks. 315 upper street was my favourite going on viewings with Charlotte was my favourite and was great to shadow and learning how to highlight green lights. Over at 315 upper street I felt welcomed and had loads of chats with Monsef and Joe taking up experience and exploring the real estate world. The marketing department with Inci was great taking up tasks and outreaching with local businesses.

As a student looking for a flat, the market has been all over the place with the same flats circulating on the same websites for weeks. When calling about a property which I wished to view after finding on Rightmove, Leigh picked up and and immediately started a conversation in which I actually felt like she was listening to me and what I needed. Complete with advice about the market, she explained that the flat I had called about had already agreed to an offer, but that just that morning one of her clients had called to say that they would not be renewing their lease. Their flat was not yet on the market, and she immediately sent me the info and videos. Once I confirmed my interest, she organized a viewing for that day, met myself and my flatmate there, and helped with the whole process to the point that we had made an offer and heard back from the owner before the sun went down. Right from the get-go, I was impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and the high level of customer service that I received from Khan and his team. They launched my property live to the market quickly and at the right time and took advantage of the spike in demand for lettings in the new year. They proactively communicated with me throughout the lettings process. I was amazed by the little time it took them to arrange viewings. When it came to finding myself the right place, Adam took the time to listen to everything I wanted in a flat. Due to severe and dangerous subsidence my partner and I needed to look for alternative accommodation quite urgently. I wanted to stay in Highbury as my partner drives but I do not and after 23 years in Highbury l wanted to stay where everything was familiar to me. And I have to say from the very beginning this guy was simply fantastic. I viewed the property within hours and decided that I really liked it. Our agent, Jack, was super responsive and very friendly all throughout the process. In addition to his promptness, he was very patient with us and answered all our calls and emails quickly. I also really appreciated Jack’s transparency throughout the process and his willingness to help us out when we encountered issues. Also, the process was very quick and efficient, and I don’t say that lightly because it’s been an absolute nightmare looking for rentals! But it all worked out with Jack’s help. I would highly recommend David Astburys to anyone - especially expats - looking for places in London, and I would especially recommend working with Jack. :)
