Druce just sold our lovely period house in the town centre of St Albans. They provided a fantastic "old school" service and worked extremely hard to ensure that our sale was achieved. We've had agents in the past who get the sale agreed and then do nothing further. Not Druce. We had a very negative experience as a buyer from the Druce. Like reviews on other sites, the manager was an arrogant bully, who would shout (mostly at my wife when she had the misfortune to speak to him), threaten to put the property back on the market regularly, and even hung up the phone on one occasion; very unprofessional. He obviously has a clear idea that the best way to sell a property is to bully the seller, which, ironically delayed the process, and if a similar property had become available through a different agent, we would have jumped ship at the first opportunity so as not to have had to deal with him. I like small, independently owned business and support them whenever I can, but what should be a strength of local knowledge and personalised service, was his biggest weakness. Just for the record, we completed in 7 weeks, were good buyers, and I gave the manager the opportunity to apologise - he shouted get out of my shop!... Read more
