Our property was originally on the market at a set price and with previous estate agents and no advice it was dropping fast and getting nowhere.
Hackney & Leigh really saved the day! Kiera swooped in with all the relevant research to our property and were realistic yet still optimistic. Communication was consistent and quick to get hold of, the photography was brilliant and within a couple of weeks we had two offers!
Most importantly things like house moves are big life moves and the Ellie and the team handled us with care and a super friendly and polite disposition which meant the world to us, very refreshing when we hadn't experienced that before. A terrible commercial rental experience
Kendal Branch - Commercial Letting Department.
I echo the reviews about this department in the Kendal Branch; it doesn't appear they've improved their poor practices over the years, given the past reviews. I have since purchased a business and used another estate agent; which was a smooth process, compared to Hackney and Leigh, Kendal; their practice of misrepresenting information, deceitfulness seems to be a trait across all their branches, almost ingrained. I've wasted nearly a year of my life, navigating their lies and miscommunications; I will never use them again, I will go out of my way, to never use them again, as its too costly financial and mentally. Its time to give other estate agents in the Lake District a chance, as this company should not have the monopoly!!

Found some members of staff very rude, unfortunately I had to withdraw offers I had put in on the house, when my sale was going through I placed an other offer, the sellers were told not to accept my offer, as her dad was a builder and said my house would never sell, surely my offers are confidential??, so why being discussed with their family members. When mine did sell the sellers were told again not to accept my offer as the sale would take to long. Find this very unprofessional. Will definitely not be buying from them again, and will not be recommending them.

My review is based on fact and my personal experience of using this company whilst looking to Rent a commercial unit for the purpose of running a cafe. Communications were very poor from the start and throughout the process of enquiring about the opportunity of renting the unit(s) for the purpose of running a cafe. The first issue was the advertising of the unit; it was advertised as £600 per month, however, buried deep in the description, it was actually 2 units, each at £600 per unit. To cut a long story short, after several weeks of chasing, I had to pull out of this rental, due to absolutely shocking communications and no formal lease agreement in place at the time of advertising. Hackney and Leigh suggested the delays were due to the landlord; however, having contacted the landlord directly, I was told otherwise. I personally, would not use this company again, as mentioned, this is 1 of 3 incidents over the past 10 months of using this company.

Absolutely shocking Estate Agents. I've had the displeasure of dealing with several branches, for a number of transactions, including purchasing a business, leasing a commercial unit and buying a residential property, all of which, have caused me severe distress and been financially debilitating, due to their poor communication and misrepresentation. It's unfortunate they have the monopoly in the Lake District, as there are some great Estate Agents around, that are drowned by this shocking estate agent. Be warned, question everything; ask for evidence, if you're unsure, seek independent advice. . One of many examples, I was looking to buy a business; they suggested a new lease may be available if desired; the business was being sold for over £130k, with an existing 2 year lease, so a new lease was absolutely desired. However, after spending nearly £8k on due diligence, there wasn't a new lease available, the estate agent hadn't even discussed it with the landlord, they just added that statement to the sales documentation to make the business more appealing. Don't even bother about complaining, as you'll be dismissed and then threatened by their solicitors. If there is absolutely no alternative to using this estate agent, please be very careful. I hope never to use them again, in fact, I'll go out of my way to make sure our paths never cross again.

Firstly, selling a property can be very stressful for anyone, however our experience with the staff at Hackney & Leigh (Kendal) has been exactly the opposite. The whole process right from the start has been nothing short of excellent.
Our property was viewed,valued, photographed and presented to the market within a week, every viewing was arranged by them at our convenience, we were kept informed at all times regarding feedback and indeed offers, (of which we had six) after accepting an offer of the full asking price, this is where Hackney & Leigh truly excelled, each member of staff are fully aware of every aspect of the sale and it's progress, the level of communication between individual staff members was exceptional, and as far as dealing with solicitors and local authorities etc..., they made sure that we were always kept updated throughout the whole process all the way through to exchange and completion.
Not only do I recommend them but I quite honestly believe that the way that they operate should be used as a blue print for other estate agents.
I can not recommend them highly enough, if you need an estate agent, you really don't need to look anywhere else.

Óriási csalódás volt ez az ügynökség.Házat szerettünk volna kibérelni,de szinte végig sem akartak hallgatni már közölték hogy nincs és nem is várható.Úgy kezeltek bennünket mint kutyákat.A “kedves dolgozókra ráférne egy nagy továbbképzés.
Ellentétje a Carnforthi ügynökségnek ahol nagyon kedvesek voltak velünk.

Hackney and Leigh certainly gave the most realistic valuation, which was much higher than others we had received and we achieved this and more, which was amazing. They were very professional and clearly had their fingers on the pulse in terms of the local market,. They appreciated all the positives about our house and its location and their upbeat yet honest assessment was very reassuring. Their office suport, photography and sales details were exemplary. They are by some margin the best estate agents in the local area.

We cannot recommend the Kendal Branch enough, the people that work in this Branch are amazing, I want to personally single Out Hannah and Sammi, whilst the others around them also deserve recognition, these 2 ladies always went the extra mile for us, we moved down from Essex to live out our Dreams in the lakes, but we found this harder than we thought. Hannah and Sammi never gave up on us! Eventually they found us a lovely place to rent. From start to finish they always stayed in contact and were very thorough and professional. We mainly dealt with Hannah who is such a lovely friendly lady who was constantly updating, calling and E mailing us. Hackney & Leigh should be proud to have Hannah, Sammi and all the team at Kendal working for them.

Personally never met a more self-centered, rude bunch of people in my life. Little interest for anything apart from taking cash and putting it in their pocket. Stay well away, if you're looking for anything close to a genuine experience.
I see you like to come back with ''we can't find your name on our system''... I can firmly assure you won't find my name on your system as I'd never use you if you were the last letting agent on Earth.

From the offer process through to sorting out issues with solicitors, Hackney and Leigh offered an extremely efficient service. The Estate agents were easy to deal with, and quick to organise a tenancy. They were thorough in their inspection of the property.
The only thing if I'm being fussy, was that the professional clean done before tenancy was not very good. This isn't really the fault of the estate agent though and more to do with the contractor.
I had a problem with the floor and within a week it was dealt with and sorted. All good so far, would be happy to use them again.

I have sold many properties and every time have ended up frustrated by poor estate agents and aggrieved at their fee for doing very little. Not so on this occasion, Hackney and Leigh have been brilliant. They were prompt, helpful and courteous throughout the process. The property description was excellent and we had lots of viewings- which they managed for us, so we never had to be in or meet potential clients. We expected to have a protracted sale but they sold it effectively within 2 weeks. Can't recommend them highly enough and I'm almost sorry that I have nothing else to sell..
