We bought & sold our last house with Halletts 32 years ago so dealing with them again on our present home made us feel very comfortable. They are a great team, nothing is too much trouble for them. We had viewings very quickly when the house was put on the market and these were all professionally handled by either Graham or his son. We were kept informed after every viewing and once a buyer was found, Graham could always be relied upon to speak to the other agents when there were holdups of any kind. The team are very approachable and we would highly recommend this well established Estate Agents 10/10!!

We have recently sold our house using Halletts as our selling agent. The reason we choose to use Halletts is because they had originally sold us the house and we were very impressed with the service they had provided. Six years on and I am happy to say the service is still just as good as I remember. Graham, Marion and their team always go the extra mile, you could also always get hold of someone when you needed to and it was always a pleasure to speak to them. We also ended up purchasing our new house through Halletts too which again was a very good experience. We ended up in a slightly tricky chain which meant Graham had to do lots of additional work, including speaking to solicitors and agents that were further down the chain and constant chasing of some parties. He was always a step ahead though and kept us well informed. I don't often like making recommendations but I would highly recommend Halletts as I know they would provide a fantastic service! It makes a huge difference using a decent agent and a decent solicitor, it can make a usually very stressful event much, much easier!! Thanks again.

The following legislative provisions can be found in the Estate Agents Act 1979 (the Act). The Act states that an agent must not enter into negotiations regarding a property in which he or a connected person has a personal interest until such interest has been disclosed to all parties. A personal interest is defined as a beneficial interest in the property or in the proceeds of sale, and includes circumstances in which an agent or connected person would acquire such an interest as a result of the proposed transaction. It is important for agents to note that the definition of connected person is quite broad and includes:
A spouse or relative, or spouse or relative of a business associate.
If an agent fails to disclose a personal interest he can face serious sanctions – it is defined as an undesirable practice under the Estate Agents (Undesirable Practices) (No.2) Order 1991, and can be met with a banning or prohibition order issued by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). Failure to disclose a personal interest could, therefore, result in an agent being prohibited from all, or parts of, estate agency work.

We cannot thank Halletts enough for the work they did on the sale of our house.
We were initially very impressed when Graham did our valuation; his knowledge of the area really is outstanding. We found that a couple of other estate agents just compared the sale prices and size (square footage, number of rooms etc.) of other local properties to value our house; however, Graham's knowledge of the popularity and demand of smaller pocket areas, particular estates and roads in the area meant we had a much greater understanding on how to price and pitch our property.
As our sale progressed we had a very difficult time getting the solicitors to communicate to us and each other effectively. Graham, Sam and Marion were exceptional in the way they kept us and the Buyers informed, as well as proposing helpful solutions where the solicitors had no interest in problem solving, and virtually shepherding the solicitors at various points in order to reach timely resolutions.
On top of all of this Graham, Sam and Marion always remained friendly, helpful and approachable. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and they really couldn't do enough to answer the countless questions we had and put our minds at ease. We are so very grateful to them for the care they put into the sale of our house and for making the whole process as stress-free and easy for as they could. We'd absolutely recommend them to anyone considering selling their house.

I noticed this review panel a while ago.. One terrible review (that caught my attention) when scouring the web for property prices in Newbury, quickly 'cancelled' out with numerous 5 star reviews that were all posted within days of each other shortly afterwards! Moreover, most of these 'reviewers' have only made the one review - ever.!
As a fervent follower of Google and corporate investigator, I am always amused by the lengths some companies will go to in order to cover up daft things like poor reviews, however obvious the attempt. Sorry Halletts Estate Agents, but I remember you from Thatcham and the shenanigans involving a non existent multiple agency agreement that cost my wife and I the property we wanted to buy.

During the search for our home, we have dealt with almost every single Estate Agents in Newbury. Of them all, we found Melissa from the Hallets to be someone who we could trust. She was very responsive and never seemed to hide under the carpets. Although we did not go ahead with the deal on this instance, we did go ahead with her recommendations around conveyancing and mortgage advisers and we had fabulous services from them as well.
