I had been recommended Harriet by a friend whose home went on the market at the same time as ours and I could clearly see how fabulous her home was represented by Hockeys.
Our previous agents photographs had not captured the unique setting of our lovely home and Harriet recognised that instantly.
Without question our sale got over the line because of Harriet and our buyers and their lovely family moved in last week in time to get a Christmas tree up and make sure Father Christmas knows where those special little girls live now!
Harriet’s tenacity and drive to chase, update, follow up and advise was outstanding we felt fully confident that no stone was left unturned in where we were at with our sale and who had to do what to keep the momentum.

We have finally moved into the house we want. The whole purchase process was smooth until we started the legal process. Ben Osborne from Hockey’s Willingham office were with us from the beginning to view many houses within his system and tried his best to close the gaps between me, as the buyer, and the vendor of the house we loved. After the chain was closed and we kicked off the legal process, it turned out that there was a terrible person who appointed two most terrible solicitors in uk on the chain. Ben stepped in and kept the whole chain moving. I have to say that without his efforts pushing the whole chain forward, I doubt I can ever complete the purchase. Ben, if you ever see this comment, you deserve every single penny you earned from this case.

If you plan to use an Estate Agent, Hockeys in Willingham gave us a very good service. The video done by Matt was excellent; he really took the time to make our property look the best possible and the result was excellent. Ben did a great job chasing the chain and keeping us informed. I have recently used Hockeys in Willingham to sell my house. I initially dealt with Ellis who did the valuation and produced the brochure, then carried out many of the viewings. Ellis was enthusiastic and efficient and was particularly helpful sorting out a problem that I had with garage keys. I also dealt with Ben, who was my main contact during the actual sale. Ben was very efficient and kept me informed every step of the way. Unfortunately there were a few delays (not caused by me or the agent) and Ben dealt with them all patiently and professionally. Hockeys gave a really good impression of keeping us as sellers informed and up to date, leading us to believe that everything was on course to complete within our expected timescale. They failed to inform us that our buyers did not have an approved mortgage, even after directly being asked what was outstanding with the sale at several key stages, we only found out 12 weeks after accepting the offer on our chain-free, vacant property via the buyers solicitor. Not impressed. They even refused to let us out of the contract when we had lost all confidence in their credibility to competently handle the sale. The buyer after over 17 weeks eventually came through with cash, however we were so disgusted by Hockeys withholding crucial information and costing us significant time, stress and money that we would’ve resented every single penny in their commission. I would never recommend them and will never, ever use them again & would advise others to seriously reconsider if they are thinking of doing so.

As per the 1 star comment below, we are indeed the family from Essex who bought the property, despite the useless estate agents that we're supposedly managing the sale.
They were 'too busy' to arrange a viewing for us, even though we pleaded with them to help us out as we were making the 4hr round trip to view a different property. They actually told us just to drive past to see if we liked it and to come back another time if we liked the area!
The week later the owner eventually held the viewing and was so pleased he did.
We told him immediately how badly we'd been treated as buyers and from that point onwards we actually exchanged numbers and pretty much completed the details of the sale and exchange without Hockey's.
When they did get involved again for a second viewing (the owner was away) we were met by Ellis who knew absolutely nothing about the property or the area and was unable to answer an questions that we had. He did however, concern himself greatly about our finances, even though we had informed him of our position several times and also had to refused their persistence of using someone of theirs to work out our finances. We eventually gave him the details of our broker just to get them off our back.
The very next morning after the 2nd viewing, and the said 4hr journey, we had a call from Hockey's asking us to 'pop in' with our ID for the sale! Absolutely useless.
At this point I really lost my temper and explained that we'd literally been with them the day before, so why hadn't they asked us for it then?! We had it on us but they were clearly more concerned about our finances still.
I complained to the partner about their poor attitude and shocking service and told her that I was really glad I wasn't the one paying them! I actually felt sorry for the owner who eventually had to pay them for their awful and pitiful attempt at selling his house.
In fact, I hope they refund him as they were the worst estate agents I've ever come across and refused any contact from them from that very moment.
As for hearing that we were described as 'unsuitable buyers', that explains it all really. Judgemental. Rude. Arrogant.
I'm absolutely fuming and expect a full apology for the way we've been treated. If I could give them less than a 1* I would.
In a nut shell, if you want to sell your house for the price you want, don't use Hockey's. If you want viewings, don't use them.
If you want them to harass your potential buyers and solicitors and pay them for the privilege, then on your heads be it.
Hell would freeze over before I'd use this estate agents!

Really disappointed with Hockeys.
The first meeting was great, and they assured us that they could get a certain price for our property "if it needs to sell immediately". We put it on at their suggested price that was a bit higher than that. We went with them largely because of google reviews.
There were no viewings in the first two weeks, so we reduced the price. I don't blame Hockeys for having no viewings, but the final sale price, several months later, was lower than the "if it needs to sell immediately" price. It felt like they had aimed high to get our business and then got us to reduce the price.
We had intermittent communication from Hockeys. In the first two months, I contacted them an average of about once a fortnight. They always got back to me, but there was only one occasion in those two months when they contacted me independently of my contact with them - this was typical of the overly-relaxed attitude.
At one point I asked Hockeys for their professional opinion on whether reducing the price further or becoming 'end of chain' would be best to enhance the chance of a sale because we couldn't do both. Their answer was "do both". Even when I queried this, explicitly saying we can't do both, it took their third answer to get one that I considered reasonable.
In the end, they accompanied only one viewing of those we had. They were always 'already booked up'.
When we sold I'd given them notice - it appeared they put a little more effort in at that point - though a large part of that was putting pressure on me not to move estate agents "it won't sell better with any particular agent" was revealing - they don't even think they add value.
The final straw was when a family from Essex wanted to view, Hockeys put them off! They told me that they weren't realistic buyers, that they would be commuting too far and that we shouldn't hold out hope. This same family drove up the week after to view (I had to do the viewing, as was pretty standard) the house - a 4 hour journey for them. The family were scathing of Hockeys attitude to them, and really upset with how they had been talked to and spoken to. They said they nearly didn't bother.
The worst thing is this family actually bought the house. They then refused to deal with Hockeys. They actually begged me not to make them collect the key from Hockeys, so bad had been their experience. Hockeys actually put off the people that bought the house.
I can genuinely say that we sold the house despite our estate agents, not because of them.
When we had agreed a chain, Hockeys appeared eager to get information from me a lot. They really wanted their money. Any information they told me I already knew from my solicitors.
I am surprised by the 'service' we got, and am bitter about it. I note that the reviews on here are very positive and hopefully you got a better service than us. For us, we will never use them again, and if we are ever back in the market we will think twice before viewing a house marketed by them.

Rarely phoned me.
I tried to view two properties with them. They were too busy. In one case the seller showed me round.
I sold my house for more than the reduction Hockeys suggested I reduce to with another agent. Hockeys made me wait the full time before I could get rid of them.
Do not use this estate agent.

We first had contact with Hockeys in May 2015. We had seen a house in Cottenham that we wanted to view. At the time our house also in Cottenham was not on the market and we had not even thought about moving house. We arranged for Jeremy to come and value our house. It was a 1pm appointment by 3.30pm our house was on the market and 2 viewings had been booked for 5.30pm that same evening. Within 24 hours of meeting Jeremy we had our first offer. We were so pleased with the efficency of Jeremy and his team.
We did buy that house that prompted us to get the valuation. We moved in October 2015 and could not be happier. Although it was a snap decision to view the house and put ours up for sale, it was the best snap decision we have ever made and Hockeys made it all possible. Houses in Cottenham seem to sell fast and we had not thought in our wildest dreams that we would be successful in buying our perfect home when ours wasn't even on the market. I can’t warn you off Hockeys strongly enough. They will screw over both the seller and the buyer so they can try to keep their dirty, grasping little hands on as much of their commission as they can.
If you have to buy a house through these racketeers, you have my deepest condolences. Make sure that you contact the sellers directly and copy them in to any communications. This way, the Hockeys conmen haven’t got the power to play you off against the seller. And make sure that you have everything in writing so you have a paper trail when you need to report Hockeys to the Property Ombudsman.
If you have to sell a house, Hockeys should be your absolute last choice. They will not act in your best interests. Initially try any of the online-based services (cut out these useless middlemen), and then use literally anyone else. If you’re thinking about Hockeys, it’s probably best not to sell your house at all.
