A warning for buyers and sellers.<br><br>Unfortunately, like many estate agents in the UK, this branch appears to prioritise its own business interests over both buyers and sellers.<br><br>In our experience, if you don’t already have a property listed with them or aren’t using their additional services (such as mortgage brokering), it can feel like you have very little chance against buyers who do. Even when you do everything right as a buyer, it feels as though preference is given to applicants who generate the agency additional commission through multiple transactions or add-on services.<br><br>Sellers should also consider whether they are truly being presented with the strongest buyer overall, or simply the buyer most commercially beneficial to the agency. That could potentially mean losing out on better offers from genuine buyers who really love the property.<br><br>Buyers should be aware that being in a strong position alone may not be enough if you are not also using the agency’s wider services or related transactions.<br><br>While all offers legally have to be passed on, we’ll never know how fairly or enthusiastically competing offers were presented, and the overall process left us with very little confidence in the transparency of how things were handled....
