Very poor letting agents. Unresponsive to maintenence issues, poor communicators, very rude when you leave a tenancy and will try to fleece you for your entire deposit. Been in touch with Anthony and Ellis with regards to letting. Proper sound blokes, I cannot stand 90% of estate agents but these 2 are brilliant! They restore your faith in estate agents! Just a couple of top lads! They're just honest and that's all you want, it's where most estate go wrong when they start being dishonest! Holmes-Naden certainly deserves a 5*+. As I had not sold a property for over 28 years I was understandably somewhat daunted by what might be involved in the selling of the home that I loved. I considered a number of Estate Agents and it was obvious from the initial visit by Jan Johnson of Holmes-Naden that my best interests would be in very safe hands. The team at Holmes-Naden were delightful; their professionalism and considerable expertise was obvious throughout; their continuous support and care a bonus. Apparently one of today’s major life stresses is selling/moving house. Given the unpredictability of the market and the obvious personal upheaval, anxieties are understandable. By being there for me ; by supporting me and offering wise counsel; Holmes-Naden did an excellent job and accomplished all they could to make the process hassle-free. Holmes Naden are exactly what you are looking for in a local village estate agent. Their professional staff are friendly ,approachable and know their market in and around the Bollington area. Selling and buying houses can be very stressful (as we found with our last purchase) but Holmes Naden went above and beyond to make it as smooth sailing as possible. Holmes Naden have been both dishonest and incompetent. We have had the misfortune of having to deal with them over a period of two years both as tenants and when buying a property. Whilst we were tenants they failed to action most things in a reasonable timeframe or not at all. And I doubt the owner was aware when plumbing leaks were left running for days, fences remained broken for months, heaters broke and were never fixed and it was left to us to arrange for the gas to be checked, meaning the house was uninsured for a long period. When looking to buy houses with them, they didn’t seem to understand the post Brexit market stagnation, rudely and arrogantly rejecting an offer we made (which it turns out was way too high) on a house that still hasn’t been sold (that was in May 2017) on the basis that they could sell it at an inflated price ‘in a day’. We are left with the impression that they manage to survive by playing one party off against another by bending the truth and by having a near monopoly in this area. If they were operating in an area with stronger market competition, they would have to up their game significantly.... Read more

I cannot recommend Holmes naden enough. They were absolutely fantastic in helping me & my two children relocate somewhere safe after an awful experience elsewhere. They were polite , professional & went above & beyond for us. They had found us a new, long term home in a matter of 24 hours. Would like to make a review of someone who has really helped me through a rental property in times of need. I was up to my eyes in it Fred xmas with my business and I approached Holmes naden to help me sort contracts etc for the property. They took control right away easing the work load for me. In particular Ellis was the driving force around the work need, inventory, checks and contracts etc. I didn't need to be involved at all so that I could concentrate on my business saving me time and money emailing calling and traveling to and from to sort it out. The property has since come empty again and I approached them again to add it to the market and get it sorted. They have been very helpful and again Ellis helped in sorting the new tenant and when my old tenants were struggling to get a time for people to look round and photographer to come in they made good contact with the tenant and agreed they would use the spare key and in that time they found a new tenant. meaning the property isn't empty and not bringing an income in. All the staff I have been in contact with have been incredibly professional and very good at keeping me in the loop. I would like to thank the whole of Holmes naden and Ellis for their help in making my life easier in situations which have been made hard work everyday life and battles standing in the way. I have rented a property through holmes naden bollington and lived there for the past 14 months and the move in was great. The staff i have dealt with have all been great until today. I have now moved out of the premises and had a concern i needed clarification on with regards to a dispute with the landlord and spoke to Ellis for the first time. Ellis didnt listen to my concerns or even hear me out he took what the landlord had told him as the truth and was agressive really rude and totally unproffessional. Ellis had no facts with regards to the dispute only what the landlord had told him verbally this morning and i had proof in text messages that proved the lanlord was not being truthful yet ellis still spoke agressively to me in an argumentive manner and defended the landlord just by what he had been told verbally. I run my own business and have done for the past 6 years managing up to 15 staff and never would myself or any of my staff argue with a customer for 41 minutes or not listen to their side of the story without butting in and telling them thats not true? I feel so upset by the way ive been treated by both the landlord and the estate agent Ellis. I have never written a bad review before and im really sorry to have to write this as the company and the rest of the staff are not at fault and have all been really lovely to me . Ellis did not reflect the proffessionalism and high standards of care nor understanding that i would expect from such a reputable company. I shall be writing a formal complaint as i personally would not want a person representing my company this way.... Read more

I have never really trusted Estate agents, have always considered them like car dealers. Wrong I know but this was from two bad experiences in the past. This was until a recommendation from a friend I approached Holmes Naden the estate agents in Bollington to sell my property in the village. They were more than helpful in every way, and apart from the actual selling of the property gave advice on furniture removal and the various services needed with such a move, even to actually making the phone calls and making all the arrangements for me. It was an old property and there were complicated problems with boundaries before it could be sold. The Holmes Naden staff spent a lot of time on site sorting the dispute out. I can't recommend this agency nearly enough for the endless help and goodwill this agency gave and for their most helpful and friendly staff. Not forgetting the endless cups of tea, which is always a good sign!... Read more

Every experience I have had with this estate agent has been unpleasant. The staff are unprofessional and aggressive. I have called about properties to be met with patronising snobbery. I have waited outside the property to collect someone who was in the next door restaurant to be greeted with nasty comments from staff leaving the premises about me blocking their exit. ( which I clearly wasn't because a 4x4 truck was happily passing by as the woman tried to lecture me.) You are not better than anyone, you work in a pompous over priced estate agents. I will never recommend or use these people ever.... Read more
