We viewed a house yesterday with Nick and honestly he was brilliant. Even though we haven’t put an offer in yet and are still looking, I felt like I needed to leave a review because the difference in the level of service was huge compared to other estate agents we’ve dealt with.
This is the second time we’ve been through the process of buying, and after seeing so many houses with different agents, Nick has easily been the most helpful, approachable and knowledgeable by far. He made us feel completely at ease, took the time to explain things properly, and answered every question without rushing us or making us feel pressured.
We actually came away saying we wish we’d known about him sooner, as it would have been a completely different experience when selling our own house. He really stood out and we can’t recommend him enough.

We have been searching for a flat to rent, and had spoken to a few agents - some were incompetent I have to say. Then we found a flat that met what we were looking for. Our daughter visited it and was shown around by Daisy Barber. Initially our application was knocked back but we persevered and had many conversations and exchanged many messages with Daisy. The process became a little complicated, but throughout Daisy was extremely patient and professional. Her loyalty of course was to your client, but her communication skills were excellent: responses to e-mails were prompt and informative; she was always at the end of the telephone if I had questions or needed advice; and unprompted updates were forthcoming. Daisy clearly has good interpersonal skills and we have thanked her, and wished her luck for the future, although I don’t think she will need luck. I have no hesitation in writing a review and had intended to write to the registered office in Bournmouth but alas couldn’t find an e-mail address. Please pass on this review to management. Our sale to a cash buyer was going smoothly until the buyer decided they would no longer pay cash. Libby went into overdrive, chasing down the chain, identifying and removing blockages. She kept everyone informed and delivered on promised callbacks and updates.

But I'd like to thank you and your team for all you support during the sale of my property August 2020, also for the hard work and personal touches you provided. Matt, you always remained friendly but professionally making my experience an easy journey. When Covid unfortunately set upon us you followed all correct policies and procedures. I choose Northwood to sell my property because a few years previously Ewan visited my home to value it as I was looking at selling up. Seeing the love I had for my home and that I didn't really want to sell at the time and it was just circumstances Ewan pointed me in the right direction, this showed an honest man, not a man who wanted to line his own pocket from a vulnerable single female, at the time. We rented a property only to find out part way through the tenancy that the landlord hadn’t been paying the mortgage (which wasn’t BTL) and we had to leave before the tenancy ran out as the property was in the process of being repossessed, when I challenged why they hadn’t carried out even the most basic of checks on the landlord I was told nothing to do with me. Northwood completely washed their hands of the situation and refused to even refund any of our fees even though the Director Ewan agreed to do so. No integrity whatsoever. Much better agents out there to choose from.

As a landlord of multiple properties in Macclesfield, I would not recommend any landlord to use this agency. They marked one of my properties "let" as soon as someone showed interest and did not show it to anyone else. The "tenants" pulled out two days before the tenancy was due to start on 18 March when the lockdown was annouced. With no signed agreement and no deposit this let a huge fianancial void for me. Then when a new tenant was found they refused to carry out the inventory on the day of the move in, the inventory was done 2 weeks before move in and did not reflect the condition the property was let. When I complained about this, Ewan (the head of lettings) asked me to collect my keys right away. Unprofessional and rude! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

The most useless estate agents I have ever been in contact with. Was dealt with by Ewan Macphee, who was extremely unresponsive, unhelpful, wouldn't call, and was unprofessional. Had to repeatedly email to get a response from him, although he never replied to my last email over a house I was interested in. Would not recommend advertising your house through them, considering Ewan is the director.

I have rented out property with Northwood for over 6 years. I am extremely impressed with the service that they provide to me and my tenants. The staff being Ann, Julie & Tom are excellent. Also, should there ever be any maintenance issues their trades people are very prompt and do a good job. I am very satisfied with the service I receive. I would avoid at all costs, I am currently helping them find a new home.

5* review as I could not rate or recommend the team highly enough - Ewan, Ann and Matt are extremely helpful, professional and efficient. As a novice solo landlord, I first signed up with a prominent high street named estate agents thinking that I would get a first class service however I found that I was very much an inconvenience and that they clearly prioritised other areas first. I switched to Northwoods and this could not be further from Northwoods approach whom I have found to provide a seamless and smooth service, provide practical advise and who always respond quickly and efficiently to any issues. In sum, if looking for an estate agents to help with renting your property, looking after your property and finding suitable tenants then I could not recommend this team highly enough!
