I interviewed several estate agents before deciding on Hunters. I certainly feel I made the correct choice. Their targeting of the asking price was spot on, they were tenacious in their pursuit of potential buyers and canny in their adjusting of expectations. Most importantly, they communicated with me every step of the way, including the inevitable disappointments during the process when promising purchasers vanished into the mist. After every viewing, I was given a thorough and realistic feedback of how the potential clients had responded to the property. I never felt lied to. When an offer was finally made and accepted, they were conscientious in following up the buyer's financial position, especially when it appeared to wobble, and saw the process successfully through to it's conclusion. Use Hunters, you won't regret it.
We previously placed our property on the market with another local estate agent who have been in Forest Hill for several years selling properties. We expected them to be good because they’d been around so long. However, our experience with this agent was poor. The communication was questionable, the marketing was ineffective and it turned out they told us a lot of lies to get our business.
The result was that our property had sat on the market for several months unsold and with one viewing and a lack of feedback. This put our lives on hold and we had to wait 28 days to get out of contract.
Hunters noticed our house being advertised and had been keeping in touch with us. We decided to ask them over to reassess the value of our property.
When assessing our property Hunters didn’t immediately say the house was priced too high. They asked me and my husband about our experience with the current estate agent, what feedback we received from buyers (we hardly had any feedback from the estate agent) and they looked around our house to establish why it had not yet sold. This was the first indication of the difference between a good estate agent and the not so good ones…
It was clear from this visit that the previous agent did get our property price wrong but also that the marketing wasn’t considered enough to get us interest from buyers.
Hunters reassessed our property value by showing us market activity and statistics which were relevant to our property. The attention to detail for marketing was brilliant too. Hunters advised us on how to best present the house, talked about what the photo’s might look like with certain arrangements of furniture and importantly to us, made sure the marketing was honest and truly reflected what was on offer.
Our house wasn’t the prettiest from the outside (and we knew this). The previous agent didn’t use an outside photo to market the house because of this which we felt would be misleading to buyers. Hunters agreed that the house wasn’t the best looking but said they would find a way to better present the house and its surroundings as it was in a gated development, with off street parking very close to the town centre. Hunters felt these features would compensate for the look of the property and should be prominent on our property brochures.
Hunters did a great job of marketing and conducting viewings. We always had feedback and Hunters continually assessed the performance of the marketing and suggested changes they felt were relevant.
Our house didn’t sell quickly but we accepted a good offer. Hunters did a brilliant job of negotiating with our buyer who was a foreign investor. They even offered to rent the property out for the buyer free of charge just to get us the sale!
Hunters recommended solicitors who were very efficient and responsive.
When the offer was accepted, Hunters appointed one person to manage our sale and deal with all the solicitors to make sure things went smoothly. We had a few hurdles to jump during the transaction but the owner of the Hunters branch stepped in to resolve those issues and get us back on track.
We never felt misled, alone or under serviced.
We were always given good advice that was honest and appropriate in a timely manner.
Lastly we felt we had a very personable service and would even go as far as to say they felt like friends. We even received a card of congratulations when my husband and I had our first child.
Hunters are worthy of great review, we just wish they could help us purchase our next property but unfortunately we are relocating.
10 out of 10 to Hunters for making a difference!
Dave at Hunters was amazing with helping us with our first time house purchase. From the start he was honest with us about the challenges of renovation and the pros and cons of the flat. We knew we weren't just getting sales talk. After our offer was accepted we had a few hiccups but Dave ended up saving the day with his calm and professional advice. We are over the moon with our first buy and can't thank Dave and Hunters enough.
