After an unpleasant experience with a local agent 3 years ago, we chose hunters to sell our property which completed this week and would highly recommend. We also bought our next home with hunters also as the agent. From our first meeting with Chris who valued and marketed our property (excellent quality) to Joanne who was with us every step of the way from viewings to securing offers, to helping us find our onward purchase. It was brilliant being able to contact the same person throughout (not a different team post-offers) and they really respected our situation and opinions for both sale and purchase. Quick communication via phone and email and excellent work to bring solicitors together at the end (thanks Joanne!)

It is a really critical and strategic decision when selecting an agent to deal with the sale of your home. Hunters immediately proved to be a very satisfying and wise choice.
They have been prompt, professional, courteous and honest at every juncture and I/we highly recommend them, without reservation.

Absolutely amazing! Hunters were extremely helpful and proactive all the way through the selling/buying process. We had viewings of our property regularly and were always on hand to give advice and feedback. When we did sell we had a pretty complicated chain and trouble with solicitors, but Hunters were on the case constantly, chasing up paperwork and keeping us informed. Don't like to leave Google reviews but I'm going to make and exception to acknowledge the excellent service we have received from Hunters Estate Agents, Sunderland. I would have no hesitation in using them again and will be recommending them to family and friends - in fact I would not even consider using another agent in the Sunderland area. From valuation right through to completion Hunters demonstrated reassuring competence, deep knowledge and genuine care in managing the process and looking after their customer.
Hunters offered great advice throughout the whole process and also help assure us whenever we were concerned that the purchaser's progress was a little slower than we had hoped. They had great knowledge of the local market and marketed the property very quickly and professionally. We received multiple offers and they thoroughly investigated the financial status and readiness of the potential purchasers enabling us to choose a vendor with whom we’ve just completed without any issue.
I'd particularly like to praise Joanne, the Sunderland Branch Manager, who was our main contact throughout the process. Joanne, on multiple occasions made the sale process easier for us by proactively dealing with the Solicitor - without even needing to be asked!

Told us that a landlord had agreed to let us rent a house and made an appointment with us to go sign the papers. Five minutes before the appointment, after travelling 14 miles on public transport, with mobility problems, to get to the appointment, we received a phone call from Hunters saying they had taken an offer to buy the house from someone else and the landlord had accepted it.
In response to your reply, and having experience with estate agents myself, I would like to ask you a question: Did you use the seller's decision to rent the property to us as an incentive for the buyer to make a quick and higher offer, letting the buyer know what time our meeting was as a deadline for their offer? We were only informed of the decision to sell while we were in the same street as the estate agents while making our way to the meeting you had arranged with us to sign the rental contract. While I can appreciate that sales are more valuable to estate agents than rentals as they result in a higher fee, you were aware of my mobility issues and where I lived, so how far I would be travelling, and still allowed me to travel for an hour on public transport to get to a meeting that would be cancelled, not informing me until minutes before the appointment time, despite knowing that this journey would be very difficult for me.
We did find a very nice property elsewhere in a better location, and for less money, within a few days of this happening. Incidentally, Hunters are still sending me emails saying that they've found a property that meets my requirements, for properties that do not meet the requirements I gave you, despite me trying to unsubscribe several times now.

I'm not usually given to leaving reviews but felt i had to share my experience of using Hunters on Sea Road. I had my house up for sale with a well known Sunderland agent but hadn't had much interest and after six months on the market i was getting a bit fed up. A friend suggested i talk to Chris at Hunters. I wasn't expecting much as thought all estate agents are the same, take a few pics and pop it on Rightmove and sit back and wait. Anyway, Chris came out to my house for a chat and suggested that maybe the presentation of my property wasn't up to standard and that with a few tweaks he was sure he could get some interest. I had nothing to lose so let my current agent know that i wanted to leave (that was a chore in itself). Hunters then arranged for a professional photographer to come out and take some new pictures which were fantastic, the difference was amazing. Hunters also did a floor plan which i had never had before. Once my house came off with the other agent we waited a week and then put it on with Hunters. Within two weeks i had an asking price offer which i accepted. 8 weeks later i was moving. The whole process couldn't have been any better and i am so grateful for the help from Hunters, not just in finding a buyer but in helping to find my new place in Manchester. Lindsey dealt with the sale and i can't speak highly enough of her, she was brilliant all the way through. To top it off i received a lovely gift box with chocs and wine inside! If you want to sell your house you need to speak to Hunters.

Even 1 star is too many! Absolutely awful. Staff are extremely rude, Chris in particular who doesn't know what customer service is. They have also lost the full set of keys to my property which is hugely concerning and they refuse to take any responsibility for it. I have now logged an official complaint to the Ombudsman. Please stay away from the Sunderland branch in particular.

Told us that a landlord had agreed to let us rent a house and made an appointment with us to go sign the papers. Five minutes before the appointment, after travelling 14 miles on public transport, with mobility problems, to get to the appointment, we received a phone call from Hunters saying they had taken an offer to buy the house from someone else and the landlord had accepted it.

Just completed the sale of my house and I'm delighted with the service from Hunters on Sea Road. I'm the first to admit I am quite demanding but the staff were great with me. Kept me up to date with every step of the process and held my hand when I was getting worried about losing out on my next home due to a problem further down the chain. If you're thinking of selling I would absolutely recommend you use Hunters. 5 Stars!!

Unfortunately I have had one of the most difficult years of my life since meeting Chris and Lauren. I put my trust in this company and have been totally let down. As a letting agent they are extremely inexperienced and their communication skills poor. I never felt my best interests were at the centre of interactions. I have been running around in unnecessary circles due to poor management. I could not recommend this branch and would strongly suggest you contact an experienced letting agent, that is familiar with all procedures, as their knowledge of basic issues is not impressive.

Daughter accepted a flat - had an appointment today to sign papers - we tried for over s week to speak to Lauren in lettings as we needed to discuss the duplicate fees with no reply - finally spoke to the manager today as the daughter was on the train to attend the meeting to find out there was no meeting booked in - Lauren was not even at work and they had already taken movies off another part for the same flat - shocking service and less than a week before my daughter start back at uni - no where to live now . Thank you very much . AVOID at all costs
