The company is a very responsible company with enthusiastic and patient service. In August 2022, I was nearly 70 years old and came to Newcastle with my granddaughter who was not yet 15 years old to attend high school. The first difficult task was renting a house. The company's new manager received us and helped us choose a house. He was not afraid of trouble until he helped us find a satisfactory one. I rented it for two years and received meticulous care and assistance. Around Christmas of the first year, the warm air broke down in the evening and the weather was particularly cold. The company employees had already finished work. I called Manager Zeng, who arrived soon and personally repaired it until late at night, which moved us a lot. Due to my lack of English proficiency, Manager Zeng specifically designated a young employee named Xiaoqiu who can speak Chinese to contact me. Xiaoqiu is also very enthusiastic and responsible. I sincerely thank the new manager and his team of this company from the bottom of my heart!

Worst experience ever from the beginning: prior to move in the flat we' ve asked for general cleaning which didn' t happened (we were lied that it was cleand twice!)
Our thermostat is not working from the date we moved in (February); they were waiting maybe because summer was close, but now the issue was reported again with no answer yet!
Everytime I send an email, nobody is coming back with an answer!
If possible, please avoid this agency!

Please avoid renting with Hunters. They are some of the rudest, most incompetent people starting with their manager, Bo Tsang, who is verbally abusive and arrogant. They don’t pay their contractors on time, sent disrespectful emails complaining about other tenants, refuse to answer emails, the keys were not available on the day we moved in, the inventory done was completely wrong (eg, they listed 15 year old mattresses [confirmed by the landlord]as brand new when it was fully stained) and the flat was filthy when we moved in. Most worryingly, they lack basic common sense and manners and dealing with them has been the worst encounter of our lives.

Seriously, don’t ever trust the five star reviews which they demand for returning your deposit or sth else. I quit over a year ago and still haven’t received my holiday pay. The manager just tries to drag out with every excuse. I’m reporting them and resorting to legal solutions. Please join for a class action if you have ever been in similar situation.

The most appalling business I've ever encountered in my life. It pains me to think back on my experience while I was renting through them for 12 months. The "manager" (quite a stretch) Bo Tsang, is a rude and unprofessional man, and 99% of the employees I've had to deal with are completely incompetent and lack any kind of common sense. From not having the keys ready on the day we were meant to move in, to grammatically incorrect emails and radio silence on issues that were raised, I'm surprised they are still a somewhat reputable business. Do yourself a favour and avoid them at all costs, they're a joke.

Got in touch with Hunters about one of their landlord's new tenants who has moved next door to me and has caused a noise disturbance every night since they moved in a month ago. Wasn't impressed by theirs (or the landlords) blasé response. They don't seem bothered by it at all. It also takes ages for anyone to answer their phones. Definitely will be avoiding Hunters if I need an estate agent in the future and would advise others to do the same!

We moved overseas to take a job and asked Newcastle Hunters to manage our property. Thank goodness we did!! Rats settled and Hunters were able to sort them out with their trusted contractors. We had leaks that wrecked the ceiling but Hunters professionally quickly fixed and repaired. The tenants had problems with keys and a short-notice locksmith was organized. Such a relief to have an experienced company manage our property while we are at the other side of the world! Highly recommended!

You won’t think it would be that difficult to get a house valuation however with this estate agent it is .I phone and spoke to the receptionist who promised to get a member of the sales department to phone back to arrange a visit .Nothing happen .Phoned again today different receptionist but still unable to arrange a visit .Hunters need to employ staff who are interested and helpful which appears they don't currently have .Avoid at all cost.

Useless, we have reported problems in Feb 2022 now near end of June and only had 1 simple fix wardrobe panel, nowt seems to be getting done or taken seriously washing machine door cracked ,bathroom window not opening , outside light not working, garage broken into 3x had someone come out for estimate on door and that was it nowt since and was a while ago, nowt getting resolved. Even better they mark the problems as resolved when they haven't been, just went to leave them a voicemail and said mail box is full tells you what you need to know really, avoid Hunters at all costs.
Quick update light been sorted/washing machine plus window, but nothing still on garage door and both mine and neighbours door was open again today and can see 2 months ago bout estimate for door and nowt happened since. Little while after supposedly landlord gave the go ahead for new door then told by hunters she’s spent a substantial amount.
Update again march 2023 garage door didn’t get replaced just padlocks again for 3rd time, rent been put up by £100, also to add since they taken over we never received a contract from them part from text, mentioned this and now wanting us to provide photo if yet been here for 8 years what a joke. But we did finally get electric heating in main and spare bedroom finally after going to council only took 8 years.

Please avoid mine. This agency is very unprofessional. After I received my deposit, I kept saying that I could not arrange a viewing. After I repeatedly asked, I promised that I could move in on the date I requested. As a result, two days before the requested date, after repeated inquiries, I found out that the house had not completed the sale and transfer work and could not move in on time. The Chinese manager was very cunning and didn't admit that he promised to check in on time, and he didn't even apologize, wasting my precious time looking for a room.

We have rented this flat for over 7 years now and we were previously managed by Martin & Co which got took over by Hunters and they were always spot on with fixing maintenance issues. However, since Hunters have taken over, maintenance issues very rarely get fixed. We reported about 4 or 5 separate problems back in February and of all the issues we have reported, only one has been fixed. We are now almost into July with no sign of any of the other things being fixed. One of the contractors is also a covid conspiracy theorist and last time he came to repair something he was lecturing me on how wrong I was for having had the vaccine!
My husband and I have tried sending numerous emails, reporting all of the issues again using the online maintenance portal system and now we are ringing them every single day and leaving voicemails which we really don't have the time to do as we both work full time. I dread to think what would happen if the shower or washing machine stopped working as we'd probably have to replace them ourselves out of our own pocket and then deduct the money from the rent! This is quite disheartening for us as we are exceptional tenants who always pay our rent on time, never miss payments and who also treat and clean the property as if we own it. I just don't think it's fair. They also never carry out property inspections. Tenants beware before renting from this agency, it has been a disappointing and frustrating experience for us so far.
UPDATE as of September: since this review all of the issues have been fixed bar one which is the garage door. The only way I was able to get all of the issues addressed and resolved was to text the random mobile number of someone who works for the agency. I would share the number with other renters but I fear they would be inundated with complaints from renters. Our garage has also been broken into for around the third or fourth time this year and whenever we ask about getting a new door fitted they claim they are waiting for quotes, we have had quite a few items stolen in the meantime.

They used to be a great agency, but the last 2 years are the worst. Left me without a shower for 2months!! Lasted just a month and broke again - same story, not fixed for another 4 months!!. They promise things which never happen and you need to chase again and again. Unbelievable service, not recommending to anyone.

The easiest and quickest rental, and the most helpful agents I have used in 7 years of renting in Newcastle. I have always received a quick response and when issues arise, the staff go out of their way to visit the property quickly when a problem is reported. Hunters go out of their way to make moving easier for their tenants and are the most genuine and caring estate agents I have come across. I wish I had rented through them every year!

At first the experience was top quality, booked a viewing for a property that we were interested in and then no one showed up to show us the property. When I called to find out what was happening they said they were “extremely sorry but we had more important things to do”. They did not even attempt to contact us to let us know the viewing was cancelled or offer reimbursement for the 66 mile round trip, the next day someone viewed the property and took it off the market. The whole experience was shockingly unprofessional, highly recommended you stay away

We have been in the property for 3 months now with 1 shower that completely doesn’t work and the other is only temporarily fixed (as they both caused leaks). I always have to constantly try and contact them they don’t seem interested at all. Nothing has been done about it, they have had someone in for measurements and they will claim that this is them working on the problem. But this was reported nearly 3 months ago now it’s a joke.
There was also mould in the kitchen which wasn’t removed until 3 weeks after we had moved in.
Absolutely awful communication, even after complaining to the manager nothing seems to get done unless I constantly badger them. Honestly they are not worth the stress.

Upon requesting viewings they were very quick and professional, and the realtor was very kind and told us all we need to know, Upon actually inuring about the property, things went wrong quickly, with a sudden slowdown in communication, even though two offers had been put forward, they suggested trying to offer more money in order to secure the flat. We were desperate students looking for somewhere to live ASAP and we did so. All of a sudden they stopped emailing, and we waited for a month, not viewing anywhere else or checking other property as we were expecting emails back from hunters either telling us we got the flat or we didn't, and we got nothing back. They just didn't bother in the end and it really made me avoid ever going through them again.

Hunters manage a property adjacent to a flat that I own. I've recently had some issues regarding spaces shared between the two properties. Antony Shearer at Hunters has been very helpful and prompt to respond to my queries, which is particularly impressive given that I am neither his tenant or landlord. Thanks Antony - would recommend. Am thinking of using Hunters next time my flat needs a new tenant.

I've actually contacted Bo from the spareroom app without knowing that he was from an agency, me and my girlfriend where very picky and we visit a lot of rooms, we had a close deadline and he didn't hesitate to stay until 9 o'clock to show us a room. Previously I had the chance to rent a flat at a very convenient location through them and I had a smooth and nice experience. Their agents, for example, Zoe, Jeffery and Lewis are very very helpful and they respond quickly over any query. Based on my previous experience, I reached out to them again when I needed another house to stay for a few months in Newcastle and I was not disappointed. My schedule was really tight but they managed to get me a nice and convenient accommodation within a very short time which I thought was nearly impossible. To give a hint on their level of support, they replied to my urgent emails even during the weekends, which was beyond my expectations. Very happy with them and I wish the very best for Hunters.

The folks here are absolutely brilliant. I have used them to manage a rental property for a few years and they have made what could have potential been a real headache into a really simple process, managing all aspects of the rental process and always keeping me in the loop where necessary. They have never left my property vacant and I have never missed one rent payment to-date, which I really believe is an excellent reflection of the level of service provided. They do the things you expect doing without having to chase them, which is a rarity nowadays. Furthermore I used them to sell a property, and again, I was hugely impressed with the efficiency of service. Without a doubt the best estate agent I have ever came across – Five stars!!!

Excellent Experience! I came into Hunters on Saturday 3rd November, Just before i headed off to the soccer (Football) game. I am here on a long vacation from America. I fell in love with Newcastle and was just wondering how much it would cost to live here. I was shown a few different properties and i was impressed in what i saw.
