I can’t recommend Irvings enough!! Clare is absolutely brilliant. She really listened to what I wanted in a house and got me my dream property. Other local agents I feel didn’t listen at all and sent me the complete opposite of what I asked for (I’m 24, I don’t want a retirement flat). It’s so refreshing to work with people who genuinely care about getting it right.
I never had to chase for info & was always kept in the loop even with the smallest of updates. Everyone is SO lovely. Thank you Irvings!!

When selecting an Estate Agent to sell your home many people consider the fees and perhaps unrealistic promises of the value that will be achieved.
Irvings is different.
We sold to downsize and took a rental property whilst searching for our next, more manageable, home. During the period from August '23 to March '24 we encountered many Estate Agencies, large and small, in our searches. All of them had one marketing strategy, list property on RightMove and wait for interested buyers. An entirely passive approach that provided almost no support to sellers or buyers.

We bought our house in Verwood recently through I&S. Coming from London we especially valued the continuity of contact provided by C one of the sales team. The two elements which stand out in our minds are these: Firstly C quickly understood our particular circumstances and therefore our requirements of a property, thereby facilitating a fairly quick purchase when a suitable property came on the market. The second aspect is that I&S were always ahead of the curve, which meant no chasing. This contrasted markedly with our experience at the London end. So thanks all round and well done I&S for keeping the stress levels low.

We instructed Irving as Sarah, who came out to perform the valuation, was lovely and we trusted her with the sale of our property. Sarah valued our property at £600,000 but being an agent myself and having several valuations that were higher, I requested we market it at £625,000. Good job we did as we achieved over Sarah’s valuation. We feel as soon as that contract was signed, they changed slightly. Sarah and Clare were always polite enough to my other half, however, strange with me. I won’t speculate on why I believe they were like this but making it so obvious is extremely unprofessional. A client should never know your personal feelings toward them, certainly not in such a manner. We feel feedback from viewings was always a little vague, may not matter to some people, however, we preferred to know. On one occasion Clare walked into our house, shut the door, took off her mask, sneezed, then put her mask back on; we’re in a pandemic, have some consideration. For both the valuation and the appointment for taking photos etc the team were late. On another occasion we were called to try and persuade us to reduce our asking price when in fact we had a viewing booked in for the coming days. When we got to offer stage, an offer was put forward before the buyers were in a proceedable position. At no point whilst negotiating did we feel like they were doing their best to get us the highest amount possible. We weren’t asked if we wanted a board put up, it was just presumed. We didn’t once get a ‘congratulations you’ve exchanged/completed’ call and ‘thank you for your business’ and whilst taking my keys into the office on completion day they were taken from me and before I knew it the door was shut in my face without even a polite ‘thank you’ for the keys, let alone our business.
We chose to use a cheap agent due to the market being as good as it was and we are fully aware that you get what you pay for, however, if we knew the process was going to be made this stressful, we’d have gone elsewhere. Despite completing a little while ago, Clare (who made it quite clear she didn’t like me) is checking my Instagram account several times a day, every day. Bullying will not be tolerated.

Me and my partner viewed a property with them and through the whole process they did not let us know anything until we called/emailed them to gain any information on the progress of our application. We then had an email a week later to inform us that they had proceeded with another applicant that was local to Verwood. I have never heard of such reason/excuse as even if you are not a local you are looking at that specific area for a reason although we are actually local ourselves and have family friends and even our kids go to school and nursery there as we explained during our viewing. We accept that our application was not successful which is fine but to be given such a stupid excuse is ridiculous. Us ourselves found the employees rude and felt they very much looked down there noses at us! Many other people we know have said the same. Wouldn’t use them ever again!
