Just drove 30 miles through traffic to get to meet them as arranged for 5 30 ,my wife drove not quiet as far around 22 miles got there bang on time to meet my wife at the property waited till 5 55 got a text off Lydia to see if I'm still attending the viewing I texted back to say I've been hear since 5 30 as you arranged don't no were to park my wife as had a argument with a resident as we was in her parking space (not a great start ) but there was no one to meet us there to tell us anything anyway it got to just after six and I tried the buzzer on 31 the loom and the guy there was renting and said no one had rang him to arrange a viewing and the place was a bit of a mess so I would have to go back to mai son has

I'm a current tenant with them for over 2 + years. They are dodgy for not paying back for minor repairs I've done to their property. They are currently being investigated for not doing repairs by my local council. If they refuse to do any repairs. I will be getting local press and legal action against them. This branch has closed they are based in Deansgate Manchester city centre

Dont go near, In one of their rentals at the moment, being ignored about work that was supposed to be done before we moved in. Now the business is done through a company called Maison Haus in knutsford so don't be caught out by the different name. Don't get involved.

Absolute joke, they ignore you when you need urgent repairs, they ignore their phones too, once I stood across the road from the office and rang them and I watched them all ignore the phones.
Been trying to get damp in our house sorted for about a year now and they just ignore me.
Getting the house in the first place was an uphill battle.
Apparently they have closed the Heywood branch down now and moved to Manchester which makes it even harder to get hold of these jokers.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. BUNCH OF DISHONEST THIEVING BASTARDS.

This is the worse agent av ever dealt with,I rented a house from their heywood branch and after payment was made they refuse to fix anything, av called many times asking to speak to the manager they will promise to get back to me but they never will, thk God I only signed a 6mths contract, moving out in January, they are horrible, I regret ever dealing with them.plz stay clear of these bastards, blood sucking demons.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They dont respond to emails or telephone calls and the staff are so rude.
How this estate agents is still running on the competency of the staff they employ is beyond me!

This company needs to be taken to task. Totally unprofessional when dealing with customers with problems. I see from other reviews that it would be advisable to make a complaint to the property ombudsman, i will do this without hesitation now.

Alexander James were the estate agent acting for the house I recently bought in Bamford. I would like to give credit where credit is due and share my experience. From the initial property viewing I found the representative to be helpful and knowledgeable of both the specific property and the surrounding area. We had a number of viewings which were arranged promptly and then once a deal had been agreed they also assisted us with dealing with the solicitors to facilitate a timely completion. All in all they provided a professionally and helpful service.

We sold and bought through Alexander James and had an excellent experience with them. All the staff were on the ball throughout and Jack found us the perfect house which we are now in and loving. Throughout the process they were active and really got things going even when it was a difficult sale and purchase - one thing I will say is not to use the recommended solicitors. I would not recommend Lancashire Law at all but Alexander James - definitely

Beware ! Thieves ! Do not rent from this agency, as good as the opportunity looks ,it will only go downhill from the moment you pay them the application fees. I rented a 2 bedroom terraced cottage near the Range (milnrow). No communication at all, no repair done at all, will lie to trick you, filter your calls, and they will try to steal your money making false accusations on the state of the property. They agreed on repairing/cleaning the place before we moved in and they did nothing at all. We moved in a place that was full of piss,poo, used condoms,open bins and we moved out leaving the place better looking than it has ever been. They still had the chick to ask £200 which they never had as I was proven right with loads of evidence to back me up. Do not deal with them. I had a horrible and stressful experience that I wish no one to go through. JUST RUN AWAY

They have a poor customer service.
I am living in one of their properties for rent over a year now, since i moved in to that property I have been noticing lots of problem that needs to fix like the window and wall crack plus the water leaking. I informed? the them lots of time by ringing them and plus taking pictures of these problems, sending them through email so that they can see themselves. But things are still the same, they do not do anything other than send someone to visit the property after that they just tell me to not to worry about they will be sending someone to fix and I am hearing this over a year now. About 4 week ago I noticed a water leak in basement and I reported to them again because it's getting worse Everyday, they told me they will be sending? the contractor to view the problem but again yet nothing be done. So I decided ring them to find out what's happening they told me that they going to ring contractor and ring me back about 2 week ago and guess what I am still waiting for their call. I even try to get in touch with the property managers whenever a I ring them they just I say that she busy just leave the message she will get back to you as soon as possible and she didn't as I expected.

Got to be THE WORST Estate Agents I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Appalling customer service when you have issues. They also use under hand tactics to bully you out of properties. They need reporting to Trading Standards. They are nothing but Liars who accuse and fabricate you of owing money !! The Council should close them down.

Couldn't disagree with these negative reviews more! I have rented through Alexander James for just over 3 years now. Unfortunately the first property I rented from them wasn't in the best condition partly my fault as the agent on the original viewing did point out the issues and when I asked if they would be sorted he did say the landlord hadn't planned to so I should never have gone for it, that being said I needed to move quickly so took the property. I was constantly reporting issues throughout my time there, I know Alexander James were trying their best to get the issues sorted but the landlord wasn't prepared to do the work. After my 12 months I moved into another property with Alexander James where there was no issues and when there is something small it now gets sorted. I think some of the people on here need to realise that it's not Alexander James fault that some landlords won't sort their houses out. Give them a break!

Just bought a house through these guys and my own experience was that I couldn't fault the service. I had completely the opposite experience of a lot of the other reviews I've read on here. Regular updates, out of hours viewings and a personal touch.

Totally inept! Bought a house through them. Would never ever use them to sell my own house. It was a nightmare to get hold of anyone that was able to answer any question I had- I was continually told that someone would call me back... This never happened! If I didn't love the house I was buying I would certainly of pulled out of the purchase- they are completely incompetent! Avoid at all costs if you want a smooth sale of your home.

Booked a house viewing with them, turned up at the viewing, nobody was there, rang the estate agents and they said they had tried to contact us because they couldn't get hold of the vendor. Turns out they haven't be able to contact the vendor for 3 months, god knows why they arranged this viewing.

Absolutely joke, I left this company as a landlord last November due to receiving the same service as Tenants no calls returned, I left as always having to chase then to chase tenants for late rent, they wanted over 800 pound for me to terminate my contact with them and withheld my last month's rent for this.
Now as tenants have moved out owing over two months rent and left property in a mess, I have asked bond to be held from tenant, guess what no reply.
Please note two sides to every story, basically tenants and landlords get treated the same from Alexander james

What a cowboy firm.They charge hundreds in fees.Your charged £20.00 for service charge per month this is for you to call out if you have a emergency.. guess what you speak to the office and its "we will let the landlord know" then you don't get a call back.
A good trick the staff do there is when you phone for a particular member of staff they ask you who it is..then they let the person now then they come back on the phone and tell you there out guess what there sat there I've seen it.
There methods are cash for deposits,rents etc there was no facility to swipe my card obviously there's no law against that but its strange.
I am a guarantor on one of the property's they let I received a letter hand delivered telling me the landlord was going to be managing the property in January 2016 however today I've been told he's taken that role before no letter stating this from the company.The only time they correspond is when it's in there favour.
This company is owned by Sarah connolly and there registered address is deansgate Manchester where several other enterprises are also registered. If you ask for the owner if you have a problem the staff inform you they will let James connolly now this would then make him the manager although he's never in the office its just run by apprentices and time served apprentices.
My advice go to a reputable company you may pay more you may pay less but I know dealing with other estate agents in the area you get a better level of service.

I would never recommend this company whether you want to sell or rent. We considered renting through them but when we realised how much they were charging people for credit checks etc. knowing only one of them would be renting was ridiculous and we was quick to realise they where just money driven and did not have their customers best interests at heart .
We decided to rent out through a different estate agent and they tried to bully us with solicitors letters into paying over £2k for an admin fee? and threatened court. Which actually fell through because we never signed for anything! they tried to pressure us into paying this (which you will all agree is a lot of money) knowing full well they didn't have a leg to stand on.
I would honestly never recommend them to anybody I can guarantee you will regret it.
Going off the terrible reviews this company has, I am very surprised they are still in business.

They tried to rent is a house that was up for sale.... After we paid the fees they kept feeding us lies about completion date, moving in dates... Ect, we lost out on other properties as it took 2 months to get our feed back. The couldn't even turn up on time for the viewings....
Whenever we phone them to speak to certain ppl we would get the usual ( they not avail right now some one will call you back....) yeah right. I would not recomend this agent to my worst enemy! Unprofessional, untrustworthy,
