Phoned the newton abbot office and spoke to a woman. I was interested to get my property valued. She wasn’t that helpful but took my number and said a man would contact me from the office who deals with sales. Never heard from anyone again. I therefore wouldn’t use this estate agent as they could easily miss a sale. Suggest when you telephone the office, you have a better system in place for taking messages and getting back to potential customers.... Read more

Update following owners response. If they had actually checked the surname, they would have found a local property being rented. I never said there was one in my name specifically. Try searching for a property with constant leaks, no hot water and now a chimney that's about to fall off and kill someone. So, maybe sort your properties out, rather than trying to dismiss a genuine review on Google. *If you rent a home from them, make sure they don't manage it! Wow, beyond a joke. They NEVER sort anything that is important or answer questions. Wish we never used.*... Read more

I have been a landlord for many years, and I have used several agents in Newton Abbot to help find me tenants, but I never felt I received the service I was paying for. After one of my properties became vacant I decided to use Rendells for the first time to find me a tenant and the service I received far exceeded anything I had received in the past, and the cost was much more competitive too. I am not going to name the agents I have previously used as I do not think it would be right to do so, but I will most definitely be using Rendells again.... Read more

I have been meaning to write a review, I used to rent through Rendells and I have to say Martyn was excellent, very professional and he genuinely cared about the the tenants and the property, my landlord at the time was also very impressed. The boiler broke down during a very cold period, Martyn made all the arrangements for a new boiler to be fitted within 48 hours, even suppling some electric heaters.... Read more

Do not use this company they clearly discriminate!! I am a single father who works full time and am looking for a long term home for my two sons and myself.I found the perfect property with Rendells and immediately called for a viewing.Unfortunately the only appointments they had were on Monday while I was at work so would be unable to attend.I drove to the property on Saturday and looked around the outside,this along with the pictures showing the clean well maintained property made me decide to put down a deposit. I drove to Rendells office and spoke with Martyn (lettings manager) and said I would like to put down a deposit to hold the property and when all relevant checks had been done would pay six months rent in advance.He refused and said I would have to view the property.I explained I would be working and by viewing the outside along with their photos I would be happy to proceed.Again he refused. The only deduction I can make is that given my willingness to not only pay a deposit but also six months rent in advance,is that he has clearly discriminated against me.This may be because I am a single parent or because I have two mixed race children but the outcome is the same,I have been refused a chance to even attempt to gain the property.To further add weight to my claim I have read Rendells terms,and a holding deposit is required to hold a property but there is no mention of having to view said property. I find it inexcusable that a well established company such as Rendells would employ a person who will blatantly discriminate against anybody they see fit,not to mention the client who's property I was going to rent long term with an initial payment of six months rent in advance. A very disappointing experience from a well established company who should know better.... Read more
