Thank you to OLIVIA today who was very polite, anything that she was unsure of was noted down to find out (shared access path), respectful to us as viewers of the property but equally for the owners in terms of us taking our shoes off. Olivia showed us EVERYTHING from the access at the front to the parking around the back and even waited out in the cold for us to arrive, just in case we were unsure of the exact property as it was in a tucked away location. i have not had a positive experience with chamberlains my house went up for sale beginning of may ive heard nothing from them for months except a report telling me how many people have viewed my house on their site but no one has been to look at my property i rang to talk to them about it i was happy to put the price down but the young man i spoke to was extremely rude to me blamed covid and that i wouldnt lower the price well covid is 2019 its now 2024 and ive never been consulted with regards to putting my price down because they never bothered contacted me im shocked how badly treated ive been i thought chamberlains was a good estate agent not any more

This is the first time I have had the opportunity of giving instructions for sale of a detached property in Newton Abbot, the service has been excellent .
Timeline. Rang Chamberlains .Lovely and professional approach.
Craig ,the manager, came to view the next day,gave his opinion as to value.Followed by good quality photos with description,folder and paperwork explaining their approach.
Signed a mandate for sale with the property being listed on 26th June 2023
Chamberlains took their various clients to the vacant property and I received a satisfactory accepted offer.A Memorandum of Sale was sent to solicitors on 10th July.
Since that time Chamberlains Team, ably assisted by Mandi Cooper, have dealt with all the details and diligently dealt with mine and the purchasers solicitors.Result ,exchange of contracts
today 6th September with completion for the 8th September.

I have been particularly impressed with the 3 way relationship they have with themselves, landlord and tenant and also with the contractors they use to carry our work on our property. We have used Chamberlains twice in the last 3 years to sell our property.On both occasions we dealt with Dave Whale,branch manager and Craig Bastow his colleague. We cannot praise Dave and Craig enough for their complete professionalism throughout the entire process. We were always treated in a helpfull friendly way and nothing ever seemed too much trouble for them. We were also impressed that every promise they ever made was delivered, which is most unusual these days. Both Dave and Craig are very approachable and get things done. Both our sales were problematical and protracted ( not due to Chamberlains) and both remained committed throughout to the task and never stopped working tirelessly to conclude our sale.
I would not consider using any other estate agent and would highly recommend,that if you want to buy or sell a property, you speak to Dave or Craig at Chamberlains

When a mistake has been made you do not immediately name that person to take the pressure off yourself. . You apologies on behalf of Chamberlains and make an investigation then you inform the customer what went wrong. Thats the correct and professional way to conduct business and to deal with customers. I can not praise Dave and Megan highly enough. We have been looking for a certain type of property for quite some time, and one came on with Chamberlains. They acted professionally throughout, and despite not getting the property due to a better offer being on the table, i can not fault the office. They are now taking a proactive approach in trying to find me they specific type of property i want.
A lot of people are always quick to criticize but not so much to compliment. Despite being gutted at missing out on this property, the service we received can not be faulted. The search continues...

Chelsea, Dave and Craig were absolutely fantastic. Nothing but supportive, professional and friendly. My house transaction took a little longer than expected due to the bottom of the chain (absolutely nothing to do with Chamberlains!) but the Newton Abbot team went above and beyond to help where they could and provided me with numerous updates.
Throughout this difficult and stressful time, Chelsea really supported me, whilst my own estate agent ignored my calls/ emails. Even at my viewing, Craig offered his advice on how we could renovate the property and even popped by on move in day to wish us luck!

We wanted a house near to our children and approached three agents in the area. We saw different homes with each but Chamberlains rose to the top. They understood our requirements, were always responsive and didn't waste our time. We bought through them, paying a fair price although more than I wanted to pay and less than the preferred figure of their client. Chamberlains acted as honest broker and the price and sale agreed has allowed us to stay still friendly with the original owners. Chamberlains were simply professional yet friendly. The initial visit appraisal of the property and advice given was good and the photos that went with the sale particulars were excellent. I appreciated the professionalism and help given by Craig and Chelsea throughout the process, with regular updates on viewings and then on the sale process. This was particularly valuable to me as I was selling the vacant property that belonged to my aunt from a distance so wasn't able to get there often in person. When we made the choice to use Chamberlains to sell our Newton Abbot property we were vindicated very early in the process. Our property was marketed quickly and professionally. We had to pay for the photos though which i don't agree with but could be the way things are now with other estate agents. Within just a couple of weeks our house was sold at asking price by first time buyers. Perfect!! Throughout the sale we kept in touch with Dave who was always responsive within the same day. He had a clear grasp of what was going on and chased the buyer when required to. Although the sale went on slightly longer than we would have hoped this was purely due to the buyers issues rather than any issues with Chamberlains. My Wife and I recently bought a local bungalow which was being marketed by Chamberlains Newton Abbot.
From the outset their customer focus was excellent and although we weren't the vendors, the staff did all they could for us to ensure a swift and smooth sale.
We were kept well informed of any progress in the sale, and at the start we received a personal visit from Dave the Manager, who brokered our offer to the vendor.
We bought the bungalow as a renovation project to sell, and we'll definitely make an approach to Chamberlains about marketing the property for us.
We'd recommend Chamberlains without hesitation, and wish Dave and the Newton Abbot team all the very best for a successful 2020!

We decided to buy a property that was being advertised by the Newton Abbot branch, everything was going smoothly, the viewings and the price negotiations, we were so pleased the way everything was handled up to this point. Then the solicitors got involved, backwards and forwards backwards and forwards, we were getting nowhere, I couldn't get any information at all to get the process moving then the Chamberlain's team got involved, they were making calls to the solicitors and providing me with information that aloud me to find out that my solicitor was the hold up. The team went beyond their expected involvement which stopped me from pulling out of the purchase as it was affecting my health, because of the information they provided I changed solicitor and the purchase went through in 3 week from the new solicitor taking over. For a caring and helpful team you could find no better.

On first impressions Chamberlains Lettings have all of the right things in place to make it easier for you to manage a rented property. They have a website where you can log issues with a property and it filled me with some confidence on how they operate. In reality though this gets ignored and we were left with long-standing issues that were hard to live with (such as a faulty heating system which cooked our kids bedrooms every time you turned a tap on). This issue took almost a year to be addressed because the agent failed to inform the landlady after it was successfully logged (this happened with more than one issue). We knew this because the landlady came round on an inspection and had no idea about this heating issue that I logged almost a year prior to her visiting. It was embarrassing for my wife who had to sit there and listen to the landlady going nuts because basic things had not been relayed to her or carried out/addressed. The organised became disorganised unfortunately and I found it hard to do anything with this agent which would be regarded as efficient. A lady at Chamberlains called Michelle was a breath of fresh air because she was intelligent, polite and friendly. I think the problem lies though they she seemed to be the only person actually doing anything. Overworked staff leads to chaos based on my commercial management experience. Thumbs up for Michelle, thumbs down for Chamberlains, glad to be out of the property and somewhere else. My two pence.

The Newton Abbot team of Michelle, Beth and Dave could not have done anymore than they did to assist us with our sale. We had a very bad experience with our solicitor but through it all they tried to keep things moving as smoothly as possible.
