Almost everyone within Connells have been involved with our purchase and have been extremely helpful. Sam has kept in touch regularly, informing us of progress. From my sale side, in a small chain that was fraught with issues, Sam managed the relationship between seller and ourselves. Having had several viewings last week with Bi from Connells Estate Agents Newton Abbot, i was extremely happy with her professionalism and knowledge about the properties i was viewing, her local knowledge was extremely good to as i had travelled over 400 miles to view the properties and had no idea of the area that i am moving to, i must say this lady is a credit to Connells, also i must recommend Connells for keeping in touch with me and sending me many possible houses to view, i have registered with many estate agents in the area and have been disappointed with them as i have had very few viewing opportunities.
This is why i gave Connells 5 stars for excellent service and highly recommended them.

It was really refreshing to receive such a prompt & knowledgable first contact reply to our initial enquiry from Boyana (Bi) She was helpful & efficient with her friendly manner & professionalism. A pleasure to chat through our requirements & discuss options, where we then met her again at 2 property viewings. She is conscientious & a real asset to Connells.

You would think buying a house would be an exciting process, unfortunately this was not the case when we wanted to purchase a home that was up for sale with Connells Newton Abbot.
After 5 months of purchasing (as advertised) no chain home, lack of due diligence meant that we were miss informed, information was not shared, additional costs were not communicated until week 20 and there was little hurry to complete the sale, the seller was using Connells recommended solicitor who seemed to be useless and could not contact the sellers meaning after five months, we decided we had wasted too much time and money to gain nothing.
I wish I had read the reviews before investing, now looking to purchase a new home and dismiss any houses up for sale with Connells - avoid at all cost.
As for the ethics of the business, the sale could not go through due to the management covenant wording, lack of communication from the seller, yet the house was back up for sale in a matter of days, at a reduced price… still more than our offer which was accepted, I hope no one falls for these games that Connells Newton Abbot play!

Tried to sell us a house that was not ready for sale.
Our solicitors picked up problems with the paperwork trail and we waited over 26 weeks and £2000 out of pocket for nothing.
After pulling out of the sale and no communication we find out that if you don't use Connells solicitors they will make it very difficult to complete the sale. As they are part of the skipton group and they want everything done In-house.
The house was put back up for sale the very next day with the same paperwork issues.
What a joke !!!
Be careful people who you try to buy a house with.
Connells we definitely do not recommend.

Incompetence at its finest! Definitely wouldn't recommend!
We were given the run around for around six months on a property we were trying to purchase through Connells.
EVERYDAY I would ring the office and speak to Charlie who was our estate agent and he would give me a different answer to why the sale wasn't going through! Eventually after alot of stress and fed up of Charlies lies we gave up with the property and pulled out. After a few days a get an email asking why we decided to pull out of the deal..!! I rang the office and let them know exactly why! The nerve!
If you want to waste your time and energy I would recommend this company!!

Giving one star because I can’t give zero. Upon arrival you are instantly bombarded with using their mortgage advisor and various services. After explaining I do not want to use this service I was made to feel in order for my offer to be taken seriously I had to use their mortgage advisor. Absolutely terrible!! Avoid at all costs. Worst estate agent I have ever dealt with. Stood outside a property waiting to view it for over an hour and they never turned up. When I called the office they simply told me they couldn't get hold of the guy who was meant to be showing me around. They had no sense of urgency and weren't even apologetic that I had been stood out in the cold for over an hour waiting. The issues just started there.

I won't go into details as the past year has just been ridiculous and stressful. Although prompt to start with property valuation and listing, it still took a year to complete the sale on my partners property. We were told something entirely different by everyone we spoke to at Connells when asking for updates. On top of this, they recommended solicitors for both clients which were useless - top tip: Go for a local solicitor not the ones they recommend up in the North of England!! Jazmine was the only person in the team that actually seemed to know what was going on, was understanding and did what she said she would do.

Connells have a positive reputation nationally of course, but with house buying it’s really important to deal with a company you feel you can trust, particularly when the trade is littered with unscrupulous operators. For that reason alone, I’m recommending an individual as much as the company itself. Charlie Capener at Connells in the Newton Abbot branch is very personable and knowledgeable (as you would expect), but what stands out above anything else is his honesty and integrity – he listens and gives reliable advice without any pressure or obligation, he keeps you informed and follows-up on promises, and he works hard on your behalf. Essentially, he does what he says he’s going to, which is rare in this day and age, and it’s reason enough to trust him to work hard for you to sell your property or find you one. He’s also Newton Abbot born and bred – perfect for local knowledge!

Would not recommend - tried to upsell into their mortgage brokers on several occasions, quite forcefully at times, telling me my offer wouldnt be considered a 'good offer' unless I did so and they would inform the seller as such, despite having a mortgage in principle elsewhere already. I found somewhere else thankfully, but they started calling me daily after the property had sold to someone else. I had to block their number.

Was very pleased with the service I received with Hiba Khashan (sorry if I remembered the name incorrectly).
She was very helpful and showed myself and my partner a lovely property which gave us a hard choice between that and the one we choose to purchase.
She was able to answer any and all questions we had and was especially patience and understanding when we were deciding the property we wanted to purchase.
Would definitely recommend to a peer for good communication and helpfulness.

My wife and I are currently looking for a new home after moving back from Australia. We recently viewed a property in Kingsteignton that we found on RightMove where Connells are acting as the agent. The agent that contacted us to arrange a viewing and subsequently showed us around the property was Charlie. Our experience with Connells and certainly with Charlie up to this point has been extremely positive.
From the start, Charlie gave us the impression that he is very professional and crucially, values / perceives the buyer as 'client' as much as a seller is regarded as one. We gained a lot of assurance from knowing that Charlie had lived in the local area since birth and knew it well, as this meant that any questions we had in this space were covered with confidence. From our perspective, an agent with local knowledge like this is beneficial.
We were also very grateful for the efforts Charlie put towards ensuring that we could get a viewing booked very last minute (this was due to us and our busy schedules). I can imagine that this seemingly simple task would involve sometimes complex coordination between the two potentially conflicting schedules of two separate parties. Viewing the property at a time that suited us in this current climate was extremely helpful and very much appreciated. Furthermore, we did not opt for any at this time but also appreciated being made aware of the supplementary services that Connells have available for prospective buyers (e.g. a 'Buyer's Agent'). We were very grateful with the way Charlie handled this by stopping at providing an awareness rather than advancing to aggressively pushing services like this onto us (which is something we have experienced with some other agents during our search and left us with a negative impression).
Although we have decided not to proceed ahead with this particular property due to some slight misalignment with our personal requirements (that we could not verify until viewing in person), Charlie has assured us that he will keep a lookout for properties that may be a better fit and notify us as early as is reasonably practicable. The follow up to talk about this in person rather than via email we thought was also a nice touch, and has given us the feeling that Charlie and Connells have a suitable level of investment in ensuring we find the right property for us. For those looking for properties in the Kingsteignton area, we can certainly recommend Charlie and Connells.

These boys are full of loads of BS and think they can talk down to you because they wear a suit and tie .

Dom, Ryan and Rod are great. They hosted an open day which drummed up a lot of interest in my property - it sold within weeks. Fantastic service from start to finish. I was on the market with an independent in Newton Abbot and then Ryan knocked on my door. He put it on the market for me and my partner £10,000 more than it was currently advertised for and Dominic booked 3 viewings the next day. From the viewings we had, 2 offers and it ended up selling for the asking price! Ryan and Dominic and were friendly and professional, but the "sale" (or lack of) was very poorly managed - I was conned into paying £200 just for pictures and rarely had any constructive feedback from all the viewings, some of which were cancelled without us knowing, at least three of which involved an agent who had never even seen the property and one of which involved the agent having no keys! No consistent sales person - Greg was extremely unprofessional as he upped and left the branch without telling us. I'm sorry but this was a really negative process for us, in the end we have just lost money, and not bought our new house. Purple Bricks next time.

Had to change my review, as as soon as they have your money, they no longer care for your needs etc. Altho at first they were lovely and accommodating, that I believe was just a face to get your money as quick as they can.
Also they give you a 6 month tenancy at first, then ask you to pay another £115 to renew it.
This was not mentioned at first. So be cautious with connells

Really good estate agents! Beth was very helpful and pushed through my application really quickly! Very pleased with the level of service I received throughout. I got stuck in terrible traffic when on the way to pick up the keys and beth stayed over half an hour late after closing hours to make sure that we could move in that day.

From the outset, even though I was aware that you were at that time short staffed; you took the time to ensure that you were available to answer any questions that we might have whilst ensuring that you had explained everything to us clearly and you kept us updated.

Posted for Client - I phoned connells rental department about letting my property they was very helpful and told me the things that I should and needed to do sort out before I rented the 3 bedroom end terrace house out , they was so patient with me as I knew it would be 4 months before I could proceed with the rental , and they kept to their word from the first day , once I gave them the go ahead and they looked after everything else including the utilities and the viewings , within a week I had tenants which they loved the place and moved in within 5 days , now that was quick and we just got everything ready in time , thanks to Beth and her team it went very smoothly, I couldn’t have done it with out them really I can relax now and let them sort the property out each month , once again well done team , cheers rob 25/03/19

Couldn't recommend connells enough. The whole team, Greg, Ryan, they were all brill. Very friendly and professional. They kept me updated on every stage of my house purchase and Greg in particular was an absolute star. There was a problem that arose with my solicitors and they didn't hesitate to dive in and sort it out for me. I can't thank them enough. When I come to sell this house I will not hesitate to go back to them :-)

On 12th February, I had a viewing with connells met Beth who showed me and my parents around the property. Beth was very friendly polite and helpful any questions I needed to ask she responded to, if I needed to know anything else Beth would find out very quickly and gave me all the information I needed when I viewed the property. I was rushed and I was very happy with the service Beth gave me, as previous estate agents I've been through to view a proptery have rushed me and have said have a quick look around and haven't been able to answer any questions. Beth assured me I would be happy living here if I took proptery on. Also Beth took us up to the communal garden and sowed us around, she took time to explain about the neighbours and how nice the area is. Beth explained how lovely my landlady and landlord are and that they live on the premises and are happy to help with any issues that may accuar and that they are there if needed. If pleased Beth helped me find my new home I'm settling in nicely and feeling very happy in my new home. I recommend you go through connells as the team at the branch are also very friendly and nice to talk too they all make you feel welcome.

Ryan was brilliant, helpful and professional and i wish i could give more stars because of this but connells as a whole i cant, they dont call back, viewings we dont believe all existed and we caught them out.
After house was sold stc we didnt hear another thing from them no updates nothing, not until near end when Greg took over and chased up and was very helpful.

Would not recommend to my worst enemy - Con artists and unlawful behavior. Will charge you for services they do not deliver, make no attempt to amend the wrong until you chase and chase and chase. They do not answer e-mails, fail to deliver on their promises of call backs, and will refuse to help you when you go into the store.
Even if we saw our dream home through this company we'd choose not to rent/buy it.
If you want your mental health to remain intact, find someone else to rent/buy/find tenants with.

I am most impressed with the fantastic service provided by Connells lettings in Newton Abbot. My wife and I have always let our properties ourselves however we decided we would like an agent to take over the management of all of our properties. After successfully picking one agent out of 4, we chose Connells. After just 1 day of marketing the property Connells found a suitable tenant and had them checked and ready to move in within a week. They are now managing all properties and we are extremely impressed with the professionalism and structure involved.

My wife and I wanted a professional quality Finding Service for letting a property we had recently purchased. On the recommendation of a friend I visited Connells in Newton Abbot and was greeted by Bethany who explained the procedure and service they provided.
On completion of our purchase Bethany & Jessica visited our property and we agreed what work should be done to attract the type of client we desired.
Once we had prepared the property a full advert with photos was posted on a broad availability web site and within a few days a suitable client was found , vetted and a meeting was arranged. Connells set up our Tenancy agreement , inventory and meter readings.
Our client is extremely happy and we can only commend Bethany and Jessica for the professional manner in which they handled our arrangements.
