We recruited Salters Residential to help us sell our property, we knew as soon as we met Alan Salter, that we wanted him and his team to act on our behalf. We cannot provide enough praise to the whole team – we definitely had everyone in the office involved in our tricky chain sale at some point of the process.
Alan and his whole team work in synchronicity, they truly have been the backbone of our sale. Everything that could have gone wrong did, everything that should have been easy wasn’t, no fault of the SR team. We had massive issues with the lower part of our chain, which really traumatised us, made the situation frustrating, stressful and it was all hugely anxiety driven – we really did feel broken. Alan and his team supported us over 8 or so months, and we have been so lucky to have had them working day and night and sometimes over hours on our behalf.
It's difficult to see what happens behind the scenes of a ‘normal’ sale transaction, but because we had a really tricky time of it, we saw how hard Alan and his team worked – the endless hours of calls between us, our buyers, other agents and solicitors. Not to mention the email correspondence that comes with it. Emails from the SR team to us were always consise, professional, informative with up to date information. We always came away feeling well informed about what was happening within the process every step of the way. There is definitely merit in mentioning that these guys will do anything for you plus more – they do not give up, they remain positive for you and keep a cool head at all times. They have consistently been our sounding board, and voice of reason.
Had it not have been for Alan and the SR team and their support and friendlship along the way, we seriously don’t think we would have made it. The SR team work in synergy and you can really see this, whenever we had a viewing (there were many) the feedback was instant – you wouldn’t have to chase to ask what viewers thoughts were. The follow-up procedures and keeping in touch protocol is one of things that sets Salters Residential apart from the rest. We’ve dealt with other agents before, but never have we seen a team that works so authentically, respects the client, is fully competent and acts in their clients best interest 100% of the time.
We were so pleased we liaised with SR and wouldn’t hesitate to do so again or recommend to others looking for support and hand holding along the way.

Salters are A+ in every category. I had multiple estate agents round to value our property and Alan really stood out. He had a very personable nature and asked far more questions than competing agents, which gave me the vibe that he showed a genuine interest and would be a good seller. Other agents were in and out in 5 minutes but Alan was here for 30.
Once the property was on the market, the process was smooth. Salters vetted every prospective buyer and worked around our schedule. Sadly, our first buyer's pulled out after a week, but Salters were on the case to quickly find new buyers so that our onward purchase didn't fall through. Naturally, we were very stressed during this time, but Alan and Hannah were calming voices during this period and they found us new buyers within the week. Alan handled all negotiations and gave sound advice throughout.
I cannot recommend Salters highly enough. They're a great bunch of people and I've enjoyed working with them.

Salters Residential sold my mums property, when she recently relocated to the West Country. Due to her age, I looked after her property sale - the only input she made was appointing Salters. It was the correct decision.
Alan, Hannah and the rest of the team at Salters are the opposite of almost every other estate agent we’ve used; They are absolutely SUPERB.
They fly in the face of your stereotypical agents, as they genuinely care. They are extremely professional, always come back to you (when they say they will), they know your house chain inside out and they are completely reliable. Alan even came back to me when he had Covid.

Alan Salter and his team are highly professional, very personable, extremely helpful, are great communicators and get the job done efficiently and with attention to every detail. My daughter recommended Alan to me, having used him for both sale and purchase of their latest home and been really pleased with the service provided. The team definitely go the extra mile and further, I recommend them to anyone buying and selling property. I cannot recommend Salters enough, having recently bought our house through them. Prior to securing the house we now have, we had several properties fall through, so we have had experience with a number of different estate agents. Salters really stood out for their prompt communication throughout and willingness to go above and beyond to find solutions to problems and make our lives that bit easier during the move process. They were friendly and personable, and generous with their time to sort things for us and keep us informed. There were significant complications that arose during conveyancing and I honestly don’t think the move would have gone ahead if a different estate agent had been involved. We have no intentions of moving again but if we do then I would not hesitate to sell through them - they really were brilliant.

Having been wary of Estate Agents in the past, my experience with Salters Residential couldn’t have been more different.
From the point of choosing who to represent my property, the team at Salters stood out from the other companies. The staff were genuine, interested and took the time to get to know me, the property and the situation. I did not feel I was being falsely flattered to get a sale, rather that they were taking the time to know how best to represent me.
Because all members of the team are briefed with the details of each property, you can always get a response on questions. The staff are friendly, caring and professional; they give timely feedback on each viewing and kept me updated with how things were progressing without me needing to chase.
At times when I was unsure how to proceed, I was able to draw on their substantial experience and expertise - and they were more than willing to help, making phone calls on my behalf when needed.
Throughout the process, they exceeded my expectations, advocated for me, and did everything possible to ensure that the sale reached completion.
I will be recommending them unreservedly to everyone I know.

Unprofessional and rude estate agency. I made a very competitive offer 3.4% below asking price on a property that was on the open market and I had been kept as a standby offer for 1 week.
4 days after my initial offer I still got no reply. After which I called asking for updates. The agency replied that the property owner is thinking to sell to the previous purchaser whose purchase previously fell through 2 months prior but they will confirm in a few days if they will proceed with the other purchaser or discuss my offer. I waited 3 more days with no reply or updates.Hence, I called back asking for further updates. The owner of the agency was rude and shouted “your offer is rejected”. Had the owner of the agency not been rude I would have increased my offer. The property is still on the market at the time of writing this review so the agency didn’t succeed in securing the other purchase and they lost a potential new purchaser. The owner of the estate agency, who deals with all offers personally, lacks the soft skills and courtesy required for negotiating and securing deals for properties.
I said to the owner of the agency that I was going to leave a bad review stating the facts and he said “I don’t care” and that he was going to “reply accordingly”. He then shut the line. Expect a reply denying the facts.

Salters is a simply amazing Estate Agent - look no further if you are looking for an agent you can trust in Watford!! We sold our house through them and we received an outstanding service from beginning to end the whole process was managed with care and professionalism and was extremely rapid and painless!
We met Alan for the initial evaluation and were very impressed immediately - he was extremely friendly professional and well prepared he knows the Watford market inside out. We were totally on the same page right from the beginning no trumped up fanciful evaluations just honest and sound advice! We felt that we were in safe hands from the beginning and signed up without hesitation.
Alan promised us that his team would work hard to sell our house and keep us updated at every stage of the process which they certainly did!
We liked the fact that Salters also have recommended companies for producing the brochure ( Nichecom) and for conveyancing (Swiitch) so they have thought of everything a seller needs making the whole process seamless- both companies were excellent too I have to say.
The team work very hard to market your property especially Hannah and Paul who are fabulous as is the whole team - for us this resulted in 20+ viewings within a week of signing up- with a rammed Saturday which was extremely well organised by the team and effective as we got several offers including the offer we accepted.
We were informed of all the viewings and were given detailed feedback so we really got a feel of how the property was being received by potential buyers.
Alan was always on hand to answer any queries we had and to offer advice and steady the nerves when needed.
Hannah is simply a delight to work with she was our day to day contact working brilliantly to arrange viewing and then move the sale along - liaising between us and the buyer and conveyancer.
We must also thank Paul who again is a delight to work with and arranged countless viewings too.
Our house was sold in record time ( 7 weeks) yes we were lucky that we had a great buyer but NONE of this would have been achieved without Salters we cannot recommend them highly enough

Alan and his team were very quick to get lots of good quality viewings booked in and after we instructed them to reduce the price of our house (for a quick sale) we received 2 decent offers. Salters are the perfect example of exactly what an excellent estate agent should be. After a horrific experience with another Watford estate agent Salters came highly recommended from friends and they were not wrong. Alan visited our property and was polite, knowledgeable and well prepared. The opposite of some of the other cowboys out there. My husband and I didn’t even need to consult each other and signed up there and then. I cannot recommend this company enough. I have dealt with several estate agents over the years and only this one (and a couple of others) have stood out from the crowd with their professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile without being pushy and with exemplary patience and respect at all times. I'm astounded by how each staff member i.e., Alan, Claire, Lisa and Hannah are and continue to be. I'm not one for reviews generally but I am thrilled to give a glowing one here. Salters Residential have restored my faith in estate agents! Simple! From the very beginning when Alan Salter came to value my house until the very point of handing over the keys to the new owners, Alan Salter did exactly what he promised to do. He was professional but never officious. He kept me informed the whole time, he reassured me when there were unexpected hiccups and he micro managed the entire sale, taking the stress off of me and allowing me to focus on the packing. Alan of Salters Residential represented the sellers on the purchase of our property, however his level of professionalism was to such a high standard that we felt we were actually his clients.
He was proactive in ensuring the transaction went smoothly, from booking our initial viewing right up until competition day. This included regularly communicating with all parties in the chain to hand delivering legal documents.
The overall transaction only took 10 weeks from start to finish and was without hiccup, which we largely attribute to Alan.
Alan has a wealth of experience in the real estate market and we would highly recommend using him if you are planning on selling your house.

Salters gave excellent service when I put up for sale my parents house in Hatch End . All the advice and communication was excellent and the service highly professional. In order to make the house sale happen I needed assistance with clearing the house and, again, Salters were able to provide a very good contact. At every stage of the sale Salters were prepared to go that "extra mile" with nothing seeming too much trouble. As a result of my personal circumstances (and through no fault of Salters whatsoever) we did hit a major snag with the sale but again Salters were able to help retrieve the situation and made it possible for the sale to proceed. Without their expertise at this point, the sale might not have happened. So I am very happy to highly recommend Salters without reservation.

We bought a house through Salters Residential, dealing directly with Alan Salter. Alan is by far the best estate agent I have ever dealt with; the most important thing for us was that we wanted to be kept informed of what was going on, and Alan regularly called with updates. If I had an enquiry that he needed to come back to me on, he would ALWAYS let me know when he would provide an update, and he would ALWAYS keep his word and call me back. That seems to be a rarity in the murky world of the house buying process, and for me it sets Alan apart from other agents. Considering we were not his clients (rather the sellers were) he was always very fair with us, and you only need to speak with him for a few minutes to know you are dealing with a true gentleman.

My family and I had been trying to sell my mothers property for over 6 months, when a family member suggested we try Salters Residential. Skeptical at first, we wondered what difference Alan would make, but he really did deliver as promised.

Without doubt the best estate agents in the county and I have dealt with quite a few.
Alan and Lisa have been fantastic on our house sale. Since very early on Alan took a proactive approach and made a mockery of anyone thinking it is better to go with a large-scale estate agent to sell their home. Having Alan always on call meant that one feels as though it’s a bespoke service being offered - something that simply doesn’t happen in dealing with larger firms.
Alan is clear and honest in all his dealings. There is a reason all of the ratings from those who have instructed him are so high!
I know many do not get on with their agents, or feel as though they are something that have to be endured, but I have actively passed Alan’s details to half my address book and insist that he is the first person they call.

After receiving an email and voicemail about a time and date for viewing, I was asked to reply to the email for confirmation. I turned up the viewing and after calling the office I was told they had forgotten to call about an offer already being accepted on the house so the viewing was off. I've never had this happen to me before and recently I've dealt with a number estate agents. Very unprofessional and from my experience I wouldn't recommend. Although it may be a one-off, it has put me off using this estate agent again.

I was a first time buyer and not much experience with dealing with any property agent. It was not a good start for me and had bad experience with another agent who kept many things hidden from me and seller pulled off during the contract exchange. I believe that things does for a reason. I seen another perfect property through Salters Residential and made an offer. I was in hurry to complete the deal and move in ASAP due to my end of tenancy agreement. Alan did help us a lot during negotiations and we did manage to complete the purchase on time just because of his dedication and efforts in following up with everyone involved in the process. Simply very BIG thank you to Mr and Mrs Salter ????.
I may not have much experience in dealing with estate agents to say that Alan is the best in this business but I can say that he is good at doing these things and he will be on top of my list to recommend to someone and will be the first person I will be calling if I need any assistance with selling/buying.

Alan and Sue have sold three homes for our family over the past six months, and they have been brilliant in every possible way.
Communication was always passed from buyers to sellers or agents to solicitors with complete transparency.
The personal touch that can be lacking from a large agency was certainly not missing with Salters, the attention to detail coupled with a near "open all hours"commitment not only gives confidence but also brings results.
We found with all three sales, that problems, both small and large arose. This was the time that Salters really shone, Alan was extremely proactive in finding solutions and completely earned his very reasonable commission.
We have absolutely every confidence in thoroughly recommending anyone who is selling a house to contact Salters, you will not be disappointed.

I bought a property through Salters Residential and from the outset they went above and beyond in helping me with everything that I needed. I had to do a lot of viewings with contractors and they were always accommodating, they never made me feel like I was asking too much. At times there were other interested parties in the house but I always felt I had their support even when my mortgage lender was slowing things down. I have experience of different estate agents and Alan and Sue were by far the most diligent, approachable, helpful and meticulous. I will hopefully be using them again!

I can not recommend Alan and Salters highly enough. Initially we had signed to a large chain estate agents but after a year on the market and numerous time wasting offers, We changed to Salters. Within weeks Alan had found the buyer , and the sale completed in a few months. Not being resident in the country had made trying to sell the property complicated. Until, we changed agents and signed with Slaters. After that Alan literally took care of everything. Pro actively marketing and promoting the property, being incredibly thorough in ensuring we got the right buyer and giving good sound advice . Genuinely hard working and dedicated service.Nothing was too much and we were kept informed at every step of the process, never did we have to phone to find out what was happening etc. Brilliant service and lovely people to deal with.

We used Alan Salter of Salter Residential whilst selling our home in Watford. We found him to be most pleasant and personable. He was very thorough in explaining how the process worked, and kept us fully informed throughout. We were particularly pleased that he regularly visited us rather than relying solely on the telephone. When he negotiated a sale, he then thoroughly detailed the process from there onwards, and was able to recommend appropriate services for our ongoing move.
Unfortunately, that buyer withdrew, but Mr. Salter was quickly back in sale mode, and brought more prospective buyers to us.
I have no hesitation in recommending Salter Residential; a totally professional and competent service.
