My late father had a valuation (and some great advice) from Andrew Cadwallader at Samuel Woods in Ludlow - and when my dad died we chose Andrew from a short list of local agents - not because his recommended marketing price was the highest (it wasn't) but because of all the really useful suggestions and contacts he came up with before we chose an agent, and because he clearly knew the market (and the prices) best.
Andrew sold the house successfully, at the price he told us to expect, and his fees were totally transparent and - in my view - good value just in terms of his suggestions on marketing the property, even before the successful outcome.
It's only since that I've seen the Google reviews for Andrew and his team - and I can only endorse what others have said: they are honest, prompt and reliable, and I would definitely use them again. They are proof of the value that a well-informed local agent can provide: my advice would be to use them, and to take on board what they say: they are the experts, proven in our case by the result.
