Initially, we were struggling to find somewhere to live in Oxford and our experiences with other letting agencies was stressful to say the least. Rosie was the first lettings negotiator we dealt with that was empathetic to our struggles. There are not many estate agent in the Summertown / North Oxford area with good reviews except Savills. We made an appointment to get our house valued and potentially for them to represent us. Appointment was confirmed but the day before the appointment, we were advised that we were ‘better off with a local agent’. The sales manager was polite and did recommend a good local agent that had excellent customer service, professional and follow-up was 2nd to none. That I thank Saville for as we sold our property very quickly. Our only complaint about Savills is that they should have told us from the onset that our property was not what they sell.

Sasha at Savills was very unprofessional when we purchased our house. He provided incorrect information which resulted in thousands of pounds of unexpected costs after we had exchanged contracts on the property. If you are buying through Savills be aware the information you are given may not be correct as they do not check and just tell you what you want to hear so you exchange and they get their commission.

Savills estate agents (and in particular the Oxford Summertown branch) are truly the best of estate agents in a crowded market. They are professional and intelligent. Charles Elsmore-Wickens, Ronnie van der Ploeg and the team at Oxford Summertown took our house on after we were let down by another agent. Within a few days of putting it on Rightmove, we had a number of very good prospective buyers, all of which had a compelling reason to buy our house, rather than just being sent there to make up viewing figures (as we experienced with the other agent). Over a 6 week period we had 2 offers that were slightly below our asking price (and we were holding out for the highest value we could get). In no way did Charles pressure us into taking these lower offers, preferring to wait and see what other offers materialised. Savills didn’t sell our house in the end, because we did have a sale going through in the background which had been taking months (8 months as it turned out) and we decided we wouldn’t wait for, and then to our surprise it did go through. But had it not done so, for once, I was absolutely confident that Savills would have sold our house, and I was mightily disappointed that we had to end up paying a fee to the other agent, for the way they messed us around. I would HIGHLY recommend Savills at Oxford Summertown to anyone putting their house on the market. I only wished we had used them to start with - we would not have wasted 20 months trying to sell our house with two other agents.

On arrival, I was greeted by Sarah, who was expecting me and gave me a very warm welcome. She explained the background of the development and future plans then proceeded to show me what was still available. All my questions were asked and my needs assessed to ensure the property was right for me. Ours was not a straightforward sale! Had it not been for the Savills Summertown team I doubt it would have happened and it certainly might not have been as painless as it was. Nicky Quentell was exceptional throughout. Savills had to juggle a case of probate, a power of attorney situation, gaining planning permission in the grounds of a grade 2 listed building and conservation area, unregistered land and arms length sellers! It was top quality service and I would use them again without the slightest hesitation.

The house buying experience is stressful at the best of times but being a first time buyer can really blow your mind! Luckily, Savills were wonderful from the very beginning. In particular, Sasha and Paula. Both were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and best of all, available! I don’t remember a single time neither of them being available when calling...and we had A LOT of questions! Some of which weren’t really in their remit to answer.
We’ve been settled in to our new home for a month now and we’re so happy. Thank you Sasha and Paula for making this huge life event that little less stressful!

Somewhat unfairly estate agents normally get a bad press that is not the case with Savills in Oxford - far from it. In the current market renting large houses is not easy and a huge worry to all concerned. With Max, Kelly and Zoe I know that I have three people on my side who are just as concerned as I am to get my parents' home in North Oxford rented. When we have been let down they are as angry as I am and as active as possible to remedy the situation which in our case they have. I am impressed by their professionalism, kindness and flexibility. Our family will be loyal to Savills because they have been so loyal to us and for that we are profoundly grateful.

I’ve recently purchased my first home from Sarah Monier - Williams, at Deanfield Homes and after lots of shopping around and not one to write a review I feel that it would be rude not too, the service given to me throughout the entire process was flawless and fluid! Nothing was too much of an issue, any questions I may of had were answered efficiently and throughly! Savills and Deanfield homes have really outdone themselves!

The best estate agents in Summertown. Straightforward, helpful, civilised and friendly, for me they made buying a flat easy and simple.
(I say that after more than two years of trying to find somewhere suitable with various other estate agents in Summertown, all of whom made the experience humiliating, stressful and generally unpleasant - "sealed bids", "already sold", etc, etc. I got none of that with Savills.)
They have a reputation for dealing in more expensive houses and flats, but they also have plenty of decent middle-range properties on their books.

I had my flat valued by there head of Sales. After my initial email was ignored I finally managed to pin down a date for a valuation.
His valuation was way off the mark at £250,000 well bellow every other similar property that was on the market or sold. He insisted that if we marketed at £300,000 we would be disappointed, have problems with the mortgage valuation stage etc etc We ended up using another agent and sold in a day for the asking price of £300,000 ! Using Savils would have potentially cost me £50k but they would have won some very easy commission for very little work. If I was someone less aware or elderly for example I could have fallen for this. Very unprofessional practice to undervalue to get quick commission for minimum work. They also change for photography upfront and have some of the highest fee's out there. They are trading on a name, avoid at all costs.

I clearly told the mortgage advisor that my plans is to buy a property before the stamp duty increase, I contacted him 3 month before buying so we have plenty of time to prepare the best deal, my credit score was 999, it was just a simple remortgage to rise some capital for my BTL parches, 3 month wasn't enough for this mortgage advisor, in result I on lost 2 houses and gave up on the idea or remortgaging.
Never Use SPF gain and will never recommend this firm to anyone.
