Scott was the letting agent for a property I rented, ending in July 2021. I have been a renter for a while now and my recent experience of renting through SCR Lettings has definitely been the best one. As someone else has mentioned, Scott is a rare type of letting agent. He doesn’t automatically side with the landlord no matter what but takes any issue into consideration and acts very fairly and ethically. I was lucky not to have too many issues with my recent rental house but this could also be due to the fact that Scott also makes sure to take on trustworthy landlords. I would not hesitate to recommend SCR Lettings to renters, landlords, or anyone buying or selling a house, independent agents are the way to go!... Read more

LANDLORDS AND TENANTS AVOID AT ALL COSTS Scott is a rogue agent operating with zero accountability for his actions and currently being SUED for illegally not protecting deposits and pocketing tenants' money. IF YOU ARE A TENANT IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY HE HAS NOT PROTECTED YOUR DEPOSIT> you could be due compensation. Please check with Deposit Protection Service, MyDeposits and Tenancy Deposit Scheme as this is illegal and incredibly easy to find out. He has been removing my review. Please note the date of this review as there will miraculously be many 'real' positive reviews to follow imminently. After I personally contacted the tenants it was obvious Scott had been constantly playing both parties off against each other even advising tenants to sue the landlord (his client of 3 years). Ironically, after I shared the reports from all 3 national deposit schemes he's the one being sued! Scott flat out refuses to provide SCR Sales and Lettings' company information. No company number and the trading address is incorrect with invoices sent out? Landlords: If he currently managed your property - immediately get a management contract stipulating his responsibilities. He said 'his clients trust him enough not to have management contracts in place outlining what he does for his fees or liable for' and he had the cheek to say 'the tenancy agreement was not specific to this property and he wasn't liable'.... SCR Lettings manages a commercial site where I rent a unit. I’ve known Scott professionally for over a decade and have always without exception found him very helpful and an excellent conduit between tenant and landlord. I’ve known him go the extra few miles to ensure a happy result for all parties, regardless of how small the issue - if it’s important to the tenant or to the landlord, he acts to resolve it straightaway. Scott knows his business well and willingly shares his expertise to assist people. His tenants are fortunate to be able to rely on his guidance and support. LANDLORDS OR TENANTS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! If you want zero protection as a tenant or landlord here's the agency for you! Lies at every stage of the tenancy and multiple breaches of contractual agreements. Every single month Scott took his full management fee with NONE of the below done. LIES about completing check ins/ check outs NO INVENTORY taken despite being in the tenancy agreement NO record of deposits held with any of the three providers despite leading all parties to believe otherwise! NO regular property checks Claims of wear and tear - when walls have been drilled and re painted and furniture missing NO background checks on tenants Complete lack of communication with dodged calls and emails Personally held onto deposit funds for 15 days and it took 12 calls and 4 emails over a week to get a response where he couldn't provide any statement of where it's been held/protected. Had to cheek to say 'the tenancy agreement was not specific to this property and he wasn't liable' despite it specifically detailing. What he will say is that he 'has 21 years experience in this game'. I assure you there's a good reason why he works for himself and not a reputable agent where he wouldn't get away with this and a reason that SCR is the lowest performing agency in the area. SAID 'his clients trust him enough not to have management contracts in place outlining what he does for his fees or liable for'. Worst off all he was given the trust by a retired pensioner who lives hundreds of miles away to 'fully manage' her only property. Now near £3000 worth of repairs needed for complete redecoration. Scott flat out refuses to provide SCR Sales and Lettings' company information. No company number and the trading address is incorrect with invoices sent out????... Read more

We cant thank Scott highly enough for his professional approach and immediate help when we have needed it over the past 6 years. He has always given us advice and allowed us to have a very enjoyable 6 years at a property he overseas. I would highly recommend himself and his company to anyone wanting to let or buy a property.
