Scrivens for renters aren't helpful. They don't email with details when they say they will. It's always a cattle call to view a rental and they have zero respect for the renter. They do the minimum amount of work in a job lot and If you cant make the cattle call they have zero interest in helping with a time that suits you. And if you do turn up at the time THEY allowcated you, you're sharing the appointment with others. Last place i viewed there was 4 other groups there at my appointment time. I would far from recommend.

Scrivins & Co managed the letting of my property for 12 months whilst I was away travelling. They were able to swiftly secure responsible tenants in my property, after having carried out their due diligence checks.
The team punctually contacted me on the couple of occasions that there was needed work to be carried out at the property and arranged for local specialist contractors to resolve any issues. This was great for my peace of mind and really took away the burden of me having to sort things out when I was in a completely different time zone on the other side of the world.
All of the payment remittances were executed in a timely manner and was always clear with what additional services I had been charged for.
Overall, I’m really satisfied with how everything was managed from inception, to getting my keys back. I’d highly recommend Scrivins & Co, to anyone looking to rent out their property. They will really look after you and your property during your rental agreement.

Highly disappointed. Some of my colleagues referred me to buy a property advertised by Scrivins, I am a first time buyer, I viewed a house and didn’t like it, informed this to the team, later requested for some other property but no response, instead they said the owner is not interested to sell, if it’s not on sale then why are you advertising it on the market? I have been sending mails, and try calling them but no response, looks very bad.

We moved house just over a week ago now , and just wanted to thank Becky and her team for their excellent service right from the word go .
Becky arrived very promptly and took professional photographs , these were collated together creating a video , this was escalated out onto Scrivens Social Media and I truly believe this helped to sell our home .
We were originally with another agent , but swiftly after changing to Scrivens we had lots of interest and viewings coming through our door , its a real advantage using the local agent .
Scrivens are highly recommendable, and really do offer a first class job !

Scrivins have been out estate agents for the last year and we can’t fault them - their service has always been brilliant and they have always gotten back to us really quickly with any issues we had.
We recently got given notice just before Christmas as the landlady of the property wanted to move back in, Tina & Jamie on the lettings team were really helpful and let us know what properties they had available and booked us in for viewings ASAP.

Not sure where to start with this review. But Scrivins & Co have been absolutely flawless throughout every step of the selling process.
Working in an agency in Leicester myself, I know the standard set. Scrivins have absolutely blown me away. Tuesday Becky came out and gave us an accurate valuation and took a look round, Wednesday she came back to take all of the photos. My house was on the market on the Friday, less than 24 hours later I had a call to say someone wanted to view (that viewer then bought!!). Becky was very knowledgable and informative and so lovely!
Communication has always been so prompt, all team members are efficient and they are very knowledgeable and honest - my house previously was overvalued by another agent and Becky was honest about what was achievable and clearly this worked and was the reason it wasn’t selling before bringing over to Scrivins.
If you are looking at selling your house, this is the agent for you. Very personal, helpful and flexible. Thank you to Alisha, Becky & Bea who I’ve dealt with so far. To say I’m happy with the service doesn’t come close - couldn’t recommend more. Alisha is an asset to the team, she also helped me buy my house years ago and I’m so glad to be working alongside her again!

I can only give 4 stars at the moment just because we haven’t completed our sale yet so far, but can only go of the experience so far. Was a bit of a slow start to get viewings, but after all that they have been attentive to emails of making sure everything is on track with the sale and both end of solicitors. Jamie and the team at Scrivens have managed my properties for around 7 years now. They've always been friendly, professional and helpful. They arranged the viewings for my tenants, the tenancy agreements, carry out regular inspections and keep me informed when gas certificates etc are due. They'll liaise between the tenant and myself if there are any issues to be sorted.
I've felt comfortable using them as my agent and wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

For me personally this was a tricky house sale, my mother's house due to her going into a care home. Given the cost of living crisis, interest rates going up, buyers having difficulty securing a mortgage, buyers disappearing, Scrivins did manage to find us the one buyer who really wanted my mother's house. We were kept informed throughout the whole process. A bit of a long drawn out affair but we got there in the end and Scrivins just about managed to keep everyone onside!

Selling your home has to be one of the most stressful things you can do, from the initial preparation for its valuation through to the final completion stage. From beginning to end you need to be able to rely on your estate agent and so finding the right one that works with you is vital.
For the most part, Scrivins ticks all of the boxes: Will is brilliant at valuing; Jamie quite good with his camera (though he perhaps needs to slow down and take a few more photos then really be selective); Alisha and Lydia on sales, interact with clients superbly and see the job completed; Becky, however, lets the team down. Becky could perhaps benefit from lessons in social skills, she is no doubt determined to get results (commission ) but in so being, comes across far too pushy, even rude! A number of other people who we have spoken to have had the same experience.
It is for this reason that we have not awarded 5 stars in the review - sorry!

Thank you, dear agency, because after 3 weeks you didn't give us a chance to at least apply, you postpone and reject us every time we asked you to give us the application form, even though it wasn't sent to us! discrimination and racism on the face and the behavior with which we were approached when visiting the house, or at least we should be offered an apology, or the opportunity to choose another house, seeing us with a small child, but on the contrary I think that the child put us at a disadvantage! bad, very bad experience!

Eventhough communications between Scrivins and I have not always been the best, I'm going to score them a 5 for not trying to keep my deposit. They paid back the full money without any hassle. I was very impressed. I have an advice for people while working with agents; be wary of the seemingly nice ones! The nicer they are, the more devilish they are likely to be. Scrivins were not all smiley and nice but they've earned my respect.

Arranged a viewing for a property to find that after travelling for an hour and half, no one had come to carry out the viewing. This was out of office hours so I was unable to contact them. This has left me out of pocket and very upset and stressed at 5 months pregnant. Avoid.
ETA: Scrivens did reimburse me for the costs incurred and were very apologetic. I do feel this this could have been avoided as they had left it down to the tenants to perform the viewing. In future, I feel it would be better if they sent the landlord or a member of staff to perform viewings, or have a point of contact if outside of office hours.

After Scrivins managed to make my own move work out reasonably I was hopeful that my Dad's move would be dealt with well too. Unfortunately, they have barely been able to lift a finger to help get the transaction complete. There has been a complete lack of communication, zero urgency and no attempts to help resolve issues to help the process along. It seems they are impotent in the process as looking back I cannot see how they helped my move either. A poor choice of solicitors might be the main problem, but Scrivins is not helping.

My house went on the market at lunchtime one Saturday in 2021 after the Scrivins representative had measured up, took photos and prepared the advert on Friday. The asking price was a fair value and more than met my expectations and hopes. The house was sold after the second viewing by close of play the following Tuesday. They say that moving house is one of the more stressful things that you can do in life and so it proved to be. However, none of the issues encountered were to do with either my property or buyer. Throughout it all, the staff at Scrivins remained calm, postive and professional and helped me get through my difficulties. Had no trouble finding buyers for my property but it was at a time where there was a glut looking to purchase. The first buyer messed around for months and I think they could have been more proactive in sorting the delay. I decided to remarket and it sold again very quickly and all went smoothly. It took 5 months for one empty house to sell with no chain but this was unfortunately due to the first buyer not the Estate Agent. They seem to specialise in the lower to medium priced houses. The worst and unprofessional people I ever work with as a landlord. They have not idea about the law, can't get paperwork right costing money to landlord and then still want to get their commission when they didn't even collect rent..... Discusting

You should know very well what property I'm talking about, the one you didn't get the eviction done properly and we lost months of rent because Covid started and we couldn't evict him then. The one you couldn't be bother to get reference from this tenant that had lots of debt before renting my house. And now after 5K in debt because you didnt do your job, you charge a commission for what??? We had to do everything to get him out. Ohhh and you gave him the deposit back!!! Even tho the house was destroyed and is 5K behind rent.
Do you have many properties like that? Or you are just acting like you don't know.
How can you say you manage the property for 5 years? You mean, you charged for doing nothing for 5 years! You should be spending your time on getting to know about the renting law and doing the job you charge for. Dan and I we are now busy fixing the mess You left behind.
I'm not calling you to listen to nonsense and waste my time. This is the best way to deal with it, making sure other people know

I'm a very blunt person who knows what he wants. Honestly I can say Scrivens is an amazing group of professionals who will always help if they can. I was with another agent last year and I had less viewings for the year than we had by lunch on the launch day with Scrivens! We had to remove (temporarily) my house from the market due to the influx of enquiries, which they dealt with very quickly and professionally. It sold in less than a week, getting the price I wanted. Now during the sale they're still very much involved and any questions or concerns I have are dealt with either same day or by lunch the next day (exc Sunday)

We recently bought our first house through scrivins and Co. I was really pleased when we found the house we wanted with them to be honest, as we'd had such a mixed bag with estate agent viewings and scrivins had always been quick to arrange bookings, no pressure, very covid-safe and organised. The people who showed us round houses with scrivins were always really friendly and professional as well.
When I made an offer on the house, Jake was fast and fair when going between us and the seller. We never felt - like we did with other estate agents - that he was trying to pressure us, just simply relaying messages between us.
Scrivins came in to their own when we were dealing with solicitors though. Lydia was an absolute diamond. Sometimes we would be sat there for days on end, on some occasions weeks, just being told we were waiting to hear back from the solicitors. As first time buyers, we didn't really know the process but a friend who is a commercial property solicitor suggested I ask the estate agent to nudge their end. Lydia almost always replied within 5 minutes of me emailing, she was always quick to action requests and was constantly supportive. She was honest and efficient and I honestly can't fault her at all. On the day of completion, my solicitor confirmed and said we will hear from the estate agent soon and no sooner had I got off the phone, Lydia rang and said we could collect the keys.
Even after we had bought the house, we popped out the day after we moved in for 5 minutes and came back to find the sign gone when I know other estate agents can take weeks to do this.

The property particulars were emailed quickly to us to check. The particulars where almost perfect - only one slight alteration needed, and we approved them via email the same day. Later that day the property was live on several on-line sites.
We were very impressed with the efficiency and speed of the process of marketing our houses. The staff have been approachable and responsive to our needs and the price of the service is excellent value compared to other local agents.

We have recently sold our house with Becky at Scrivins & Co, quite honestly, we wouldn’t had sold it without her continued support and professional guidance. We sold our house within 2 weeks of Scrivins & Co marketing it for us, the process from initial enquiry to on market was smooth and swift, the photos and description truly reflected the property and gave us every confidence we could secure the market value in a short period of time. At all time in the initial process we felt informed of actions taken and where we were in the process. Becky and the team took control of booking viewings and ensuring that we only had serious potential buyers make appointments that were kept and carried out in COVID-19 safe conditions. Feedback from viewings was provided within 24 hours which allowed us to understand the buyers needs. Once we secured the sale Becky ensured that we understood the process and what to expect in terms of the legal process from her experience.
This is when the support really kicked in! The sale was secured within 2 weeks, however the trial and tribulations of the selling and buying during a pandemic were way over and above what we expected. We had ongoing issues with our buyers buyers mortgage and other concerns, even though this wasn’t in anyway part of the service required from Scrivins & Co Becky was always on hand to answer questions, chase information and provide updates to try and put our minds at ease. I can honestly say that in the week leading up to the exchange and completion I had pretty much lost all hope of the sale going through but Becky kept the faith and remained confident that it would come good. Fantastic experience with Scrivins & Co. I have been seeking a property for approximately 3 months for a client of mine that is a recipient of housing benefit. Due to the prejudice regarding tennants in reciept of benefit, my task seemed almost impossible.

This is the first time we've put a house up for sale and I'm very impressed by the service that we have received from Scrivins & Co. The pictures taken were of good quality and showcased the property perfectly. The video tour feature that Scrivins has introduced has been a valuable tool during this uncertain and unprecedented time. Buyers interested were able to get a better feel for the property before booking a viewing therefore reducing any unnecessary contact. I'm happy with the safety measures that have been put in place to combat Covid-19.
Communication has been fantastic, we received daily updates from Becky about the progress of our sale as well as notifications for viewing confirmations/reminders and all documents were received in a timely manner. We were very pleased that our house sold in under a week!!
I would highly recommend Scrivins and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for our next sale.

Previously moved to Scrivens from another local Estate Agent and have found the service 100% better. Based on previous experience, it's fair to say that Scrivens are good at communicating with landlords, they have good links to local tradesmen who provide professional and prompt service. They raise awareness of impending changes to legislation that could impact on you as a landlord. The staff are always friendly, polite, helpful and always follow up and feedback. Scrivens fees are not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive in the locality. To date, the service received has been good.

I rented a house through Scrivins & Co for just over a year. All the essentials were done well - I had the chance to read my contract well before the tenancy began, I received an accurate inventory and occasional maintenance issues were handled promptly and thoroughly. Especially impressed by the agency's persistence in getting plumbing fixed over the Christmas holiday! Throughout the tenancy, emails and phone calls were answered promptly and helpfully. After my family and I left the property, Scrivins were pragmatic about minor wear and tear and I was pleased at how quickly my deposit was returned. All in all, I would happily rent through them again.
