Jan in particular is an extremely professional and knowledgeable lady, she returned telephone calls when asked, often within minutes and provided guidance throughout the process. When a buyer was found they were on the case with buyers and solicitors getting everything in place. Avoid this estate agent.
We tried to sell our house with them and their communication was poor and they way they spoke to my wife was awful… I would consider their attitude to women quite sexist which is a shame in the modern day.
They also thought it was acceptable to show someone around our house without informing us before hand which is something I have never experienced before.
No doubt they will respond to this reviews like others which just shows how unprofessional they are and respond like a petulant child and blame others for their poor behaviour. Unfortunately the attitudes come from the top down which means everyone in the business thinks it acceptable to treat customers poorly.
Good luck if you choose to use this company but I would advise to use the many other better estate agents in the area.

Martin's and Co have been the letting agent for my rental property for the past sixteen years. I have been incredibly happy, and thankful, for the help and support they've provided for me during this time. Emails are replied promptly, invoices clear, and monies paid on time. They have always quickly dealt with any problems or house issues on my behalf, which was greatly appreciated being so far away myself. And new tenants were always found quickly. I am thankful for all their work these past sixteen years, especially Steve Chadwick. I have recently sold that property through Martin's and Co, and again we're really happy with the service they provided. The photos and details were accurate and positive, and viewings were fitted in around my tenant which was great. I had two offers within a month, and the sale completed within three months. The selling process was quite easy on our part, as Martin's and Co kept on top of the sale and pushed it through quickly. Emails were always answered within hours, and they helped direct the first time buyer as to what he needed to do. Thank you Martin's and Co for your wonderful service this past sixteen years .

Update: have had an independent unbiased company out that has now rewritten the valuation for the COURT and both parties agree the figure is more realistic! I stand my ground you under valued it based on my ex wife talking you round so she could buy me out cheaper ???? flutter the eyelashes etc etc

I can honestly say Zoe and Mark were absolutely fantastic!! I had a number of estate agents value my property but instantly felt a connection with Zoe . I felt like nothing was too much trouble either ! Even tho we had the dreaded covid/ lockdown which prolonged our chances of a sale when we got to the point of sale etc Zoe was amazing !! Very poor customer service. The owner Steve, is a compulsive lier. I told him things he then rang up the landlord and told him the exact opposite of what I said. I know this as I had suspicion of him doing this before. So I rang him infront of my landlord, he than rang my langlord 15 minutes later and flat out lied. Poor service.

Bad experience. After I made a cash offer, rang them to see if it was excepted. Within 2 mins I was called rude and hang up on me. Very unprofessional, I don't know how cheap they are. Can't be that cheap. Bad service, I wouldn't let them sell my pushbike. Never mind a house.

There are a lot of estate agents around and to find a company who will give a somewhat personal touch is very rare. l mean that many may not go out of their way, but Martin and Co have done that! I was looking for something that would suit me, not just a house but a home, a home that would give me and my family what we can call home...l have looked at so many with other agencies but none suit or too far for travelling for school and work!. So I saw Martin and co only meeting them once the house that was viewed was okay but not for me! So when l was asked what l was looking for, they said leave it will us!!! So a week later l received a call, l was shown a house that l felt comfortable with and if my children where then it was, l asked if it was okay to arrive back later with my children, again nothing was too much trouble...a few hours later it was! And now l am in just before Christmas. They have a system that connects you to a maintenance team! Very rare. A system that all the information is in one place. We had a hard deadline to complete after two failed attempts and Zoe was exceptional at communicating our instructions.

Had a very rude and abrupt experience with Zoe at Martin and co Hinckley. We were first time buyers who weren’t taken seriously and were bullied into making decisions far quicker than we should have. Not being given time to get basic things done such as getting the unserviced boiler serviced. The estate agents were looking after both properties in the chain so didn’t remotely care about us- purely focussed on their commissions they were about to get paid (due to us buying the house at the bottom of the chain) I will never choose to deal with the estate agents again and they really ruined the exciting process and of buying our first home. Unnecessarily rude! Don’t work in a customer based industry if you don’t have the time, patients or manners to deal with customers.

Just seen the review below and I just had to correct it. The carpet needed cleaning because there was a huge stain on the lounge carpet, which I managed to remove successfully. The charge was for £125 which is a standard price for a professional clean. The oven was also cleaned, and I have to say that in over 20 years in the business, it was the worst one I’ve cleaned. Martin & Co don’t charge me for a kick back and are a very professional business. The review below I felt was very unfair.

Had a second viewing at a property which me and my partner had booked with Mark. Having had a conversation and switching Saturday's off work which he was fully aware of I booked in for 11 however when I tried to ring at 10:45 to say we would be 5 minutes late, I kept getting disconnected from Stacy's phone. Eventually when I got through to Mark at 11:10, firstly he was extremely harsh and rude, I asked and began to inform him that we had a booking at 11 but was cut off to "Yeah, you weren't there". Never have I EVER been spoken to in this Way, especially with the intention of spending good money with a company. No communication skills, my first viewing with him he only spoke down and condescendingly about "stupid no shows who have missed out". No care or communication. I personally will be avoiding this company and my only advice is that if Mark is your letting agent. Cancel

Booked a viewing, tried calling numerous times on the day to explain we would be five minutes late and didn’t get through, finally did get through and Martin was extremely rude and said the property had been let. We received no phone call on the day or prior to say the property had been let, and the lack of communication was extremely disappointing. Will not be using.

Stay away from this piss poor company. They don't communicate and as far as i can see are only interested in them selves. Twice now we have been lied to and poorly treated by these people. They re-advertised a house that we had an offer accepted on without telling us and we were meant to go and view a house recently and on the day of the viewing a STC went on the house and we wasnt even informed and would have wasted everyones time going to see the house. We also had to assume the viewing was going ahead as they never even called back to confirm. I would be embarrassed if i run a business like this!

Having used a number of estate agents in the past, we felt that the service from Martins combined the best elements of internet estate agency with the more personal elements of the traditional estate agent, at a much lower cost than the latter.
For the price we paid we were happy with the service that we received and Steve, Karl and the team saw the house sale through to a successful conclusion.

We have been using Martin & Co for longer than I can remember. We have three flats which we rent out. The team are very professional. They select prospective tenants to meet our criteria without fail; keep us updated on viewings and outcomes within 24 hours - more often quicker. We use Martin & Co just for tenant finding as we live above the rented flats - but when we have had a problem tenant they have been supportive and given us good advise. We have no hesitation in recommending this company. Excellent customer service. 5*

Some people may be nervous as Martin and co are significantly cheaper than most Hinckley estate agents, you should not be.
We had quite a challenging sale of our property, and with us buying a new build we also had pressure from the builders. Karl and the team were superb, the chasing, the communication with solicitors, builders buyers and ourselves was not anything other than outstanding, and I mean outstanding.
The advice, the knowledge of not only the property market but also the house sale and purchase process was massively reassuring and Karl helped to keep us calm when we had pressure on us from the builders.
This is a proper full estate agency service for more than £1500 less than a very well known Hinckley competitor.
I cannot recommend Martin and co enough, brilliant service, outstanding value for money and a real eye opener for how much other agents make out of your house sale.
If your still not sure, ask Karl for my number and I will happily give you the full run down as to how we were looked after during the sale of our property.

Was a little concerned that paying a flat fee to sell our house might not give the agents the drive to sell it. I could not have been more wrong. Mark and his team at Martin's went above and beyond our expectations. Ten times the agents we have used in the past and a fraction of the cost.

They go the extra mile to make the sale happen - conducting viewings, being available to suit the customer where needed. I have used Martin and Co Hinckley for 2 years or so to let out a local residential property, they have found us an excellent long term tenant and all has been very good. Steve is genuinely a caring businessman, a rarity these days in such a competitive market sector and he succeeds because of this. Reputation is everything; it can be lost in a moment, as can your trust. Bought our house with this estate agency. Have found lots of issues since we moved in. We should have been more persistent with getting further viewings, but didn't get a response to emails, which makes us suspicious. Sold sign has yet to be taken down 10 days later.
