The whole process was handled amazingly by Stephenson browne and they did everything they could to make the process as smooth as possible as moving can be very stressful. Everything was explained in detail during the viewing and communications before and after viewing could not be faulted. We needed to get a tenant in to our property as the old tenant was moving out. I contacted several estate agents and Stephenson Brown just seemed more genuine. We needed the agent to manage the property as we no longer live in the area. From our first contact with Sarah all the staff we have spoke to Sharon, Heather and Pam have been great. Nothing seems to much trouble and they are always willing to help in any way. We were a little sceptical at first dealing with an estate agent as we have had in the past a bad experience with another agent who promised the earth but did absolutely nothing. Stephenson Brown lined up tenants and vetted them to worm out time wasters as well as doing background checks. They showed the tenants around and reported back to us how everything was going. We needed to get some trees cut lower in the rear garden and Sarah went to the property to take pictures for us so we could see what the workers had done. Going forward we just hope all goes well working with the agent. So if you are looking for an agent who is up front and honest and who does what it says on the tin, then dont look any further. There costs are good also.

Out of 4 local independent agents they were the only ones enthusiastic and willing to put my house on the market at a higher price. To put this in context 25k more than the others valued it. They marketed the property to perfection and their in house progression service ensures all parties are moving along swiftly to completion. Refuses to follow the government guidelines regarding Holding Deposits and is refusing to refund any of it.
Will harass following a viewing to get you to enter the tenancy application, and during the process. But when declined by the landlord will immediately rescind all communication beyond very abrupt emails. Would not recommend
The claim that I have provided inaccurate statements is a lie.
The government guidelines state:
> Q. What if I provided false or misleading information unknowingly? Your landlord or agent can still retain your holding deposit in this situation if it materially affects the landlord’s decision to grant you the tenancy. You should take care to ensure that all the information you provide is accurate. Where a landlord or agent considers that you have unknowingly provided false or misleading information, we encourage them to only retain the costs of undertaking the reference check rather than the full amount of your holding deposit.
Which I sent in an email, asking for the excess to be refunded with receipts of proof. to which there has been no response. Hence my review.

After searching for a rental property for a while the whole experience was excellent. The staff call when they say, take the actions they say and follow up, not to mention they do this is a friendly approachable personable manner. I think too often the crazy rental market is seen as the goose that will lay the golden egg no matter how badly you treat it, service at many agencies is absolutely terrible. In more challenging times this service level will win customers.

We've recently just sold our first home through Stephenson brown, they have made our experience feel like a breeze.
The moment Maria and her boss came out to value the property, we felt like we had a instant connection with them both. To then going onto to dealing with Myles in the sales team, they got us up for sale within days and then had us offers within a week. 1 week later we accepted an offer and then moved onto Kathy in after sales team who kept us up to date as much as possible. We were not taken seriously and having children in the house we had a leaking boiler and mould developing in the house for over a year before we moved out and it was still not fixed oone of our children had ashtma and this was worsened by the mould in the downstairs toilet which was then unusable.to top this off agter we left thethe house spotless minus some weeding and a oven clean they tried to charge us 50% of our deposit for cleaning services. Wouldn't recommend as nothing was fixed in the 5 and half years we lived there. The landlord tried to fix rather than replace and left most stuff half working. DONT USE AND AVOID!

Stephenson Browne recently helped me to sell my home. The service was FLAWLESS throughout. Jade came out to complete the valuation, take the photos etc. She was reassuring, supportive, and her attention to detail was out of this world. My house was placed on the market and sold in just 4 days! The whole team supported me through the rest of the sale process, in particular Lindsey. When I had a few issues with my onward purchase and I felt as though I was back at square one, Lindsey was hugely supportive, reassuring and caring to my needs. Selling and buying is never an easy process. When I kept hitting bumps in the road, the staff were always at the end of the phone or email to help. Lindsey supported me through many frustrating times. She is a brilliant listener and kept me calm and motivated. She also kept my buyer reassured through the process and did everything in her power to ensure the sale could still go through, keeping my buyer engaged in the process when the buyer could of easily got fed up of waiting, due to delays further up in the chain. I want to give a huge thanks from the bottom of my heart for making my dream a reality. I could not have done this without you all. Buying and selling is a totally new and chaotic experience, but with the efforts of all the staff we managed to sell our home and move onto pastures new.
Jade took some lovely photos and started the ball rolling online, and instantly we gained lots of interest as soon as our house went live.
I work shifts and can be abit of a self confessed control freak, however, there was never any pressure or stress imposed on me. Gaynor, Lindsay, Pam and Miles were top notch with communication even when it wasn’t always their issue to solve, they would help me, even if I would call to ask silly questions or triple checks things. I felt like I knew them all personally as time went on.
Jade and her team are so good at what they do, professional yet approachable. I want to thank them all, through a lockdown and a pandemic - it didn’t stop these super stars working wonders!

What do you typically expect an estate agent's role? A negotiator between landlord and tenant? Though same is not true because when I heard negative experiences from my friends, I was bit careful. However, my experience with Stephenson Brown (Newcastle) was absolutely positive and different from what I have been hearing. Staff was extremely helpful at most of the occasions, from check-in to check-out. They were considerate of the tenants requirements and provided timely response/action. So, I would definitely say, nice property along with responsive estate agency can make your living experience better and stress-free. We have been tenants for years and have dealt with various letting agencies. The experience we had with Stephenson Browne, Newcastle Branch was stress free considering looking for a property is stressful in itself. During the process we were supported from the beginning till the end by Caroline Jones (who we must say is fantastic at her job) and Oliver, despite being new in his job showed great professionalism.
The fees were not extortionate compared to other letting agents. Even after now, having been in the property for 2 months, they remained helpful and accommodating every time we have queries or need support in our property. We strongly recommend Stephenson Browne lettings to anyone looking for property. Definitely the most supportive letting agent we had so far!
